Simple hotel but very good. Friendly owners and helpful staff. Good food both breakfast and dinner if you want it- home cooked and tasty. Complimentary tea and cake on the rooftop in evening.
Within striking distance of main areas of Delhi.
Colonel's Retreat is somewhat like a hidden pearl in the infinitesimally vast ocean of big and small hotels in Delhi. It's located in a peaceful and leafy neighborhood, which is also surprisingly at the center of the city. This makes it an ideal place to...More
My wife, adult son and I enjoyed two days at this homestay at the start of our extended holiday in India. Good location to explore Delhi; situated in a quiet residential area. Comfortable rooms, good food and friendly staff -- particularly recommend the roof-top restaurant.
Our group of eight spent several nights at Colonel’s Retreat in early January.

I would suggest asking them to send a car for you. It will be more expensive than a taxi because it's a " double run" but it won't be a wallet buster cost. The reason is because New Delhi traffic and the sheer size of the place. You can't assume that the taxi driver from the airport will be able to find the Colonels retreat. I took a local taxi during my stay, it was a 15-20 ride, but it took 45 minutes because the taxi driver, a very nice man, from Amritsar not Delhi ! didnt know his way around LOL the taxi drivers often rely on you knowing where you are going .
The Colonels Retreat is fantastic , just let them take care of you,
