Detailed Reviews
Villa 33 is situated in a quiet, safe area in South Delhi away from the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi, we found this location ideal as it is only a 4 minute walk to the Metro station and the Metro service is cheap, safe and punctual. The house is a lovely old fashioned residence and Anil his a very knowledgeable and helpful host and hi staff are very friendly. He also has a very good taxi driver (Vikas) and can arrange airport and train collections etc. The breakfast is lovely and you can also pre order a evening meal. Anil will also recommend some local restaurants, the vegetarian one in Hauz Khas village is particularly good. Would stay here again when we return to Delhi. Thanks Brian and Julie.

Very nice house, a bit away from the center of New Delhi. Completely in its juice, could deserve a little refreshment while keeping this charm crazy.
We arrived in the middle of the night (flight from Europe) very well received.
Hearty breakfast in a beautiful dining room, with other guests, which is very nice. The rooms (one on arrival and another 15 days later) are spacious, nicely decorated, with everything you need. Very nice beds. The manager was most kind. The second time, we asked for the feasibility of an on-site dinner, which was accepted, thus saving us from running to get a restaurant. A place to recommend if you want to be a little quiet.

I thought about it a lot before booking this hotel, housed in a colonial house in the Hauz Khas district, for fear of being too decentralized to the center of Delhi. Instead it was a great solution, because the neighborhood in which it is located is very quiet, almost unthinkable that it could be in Delhi and the hotel is 300 m from the subway stop, which allows on one hand to get to the center in 40 minutes and on the other to get to the archaeological area, and first of all to that of Qutab Minar, beautiful , in 15/20 ‘
For dinner, just before the subway stop, there is the S.D.A. shopping center with some options including exceptional, for quality and price, the Sandoz, with Indian cuisine revisited, a bistro that is part of a small chain of Dheli.
In addition, the owners, Europeans, are very kind and entertain guests by having breakfast with them in the morning. Well, perhaps the only flaw is the lack of sweet alternatives in breakfast.

This guest house was recommended to me by a professional visitor from Japan, who had an excellent experience. I was looking for a possibly extended stay for a few nights to attend to some work in South Delhi. One day before my stay, I received a call from the management inquiring if I had a Delhi-NCR ID. Apparently, there is government rule that guest houses can only have guests with non-local ID. While the information is useful, and I told the host that I do have a non-local DL from my home state. I expressed a bit of irritation at the rule and the host went on to justify it by saying that there is no reason why someone with a house in NCR may want to stay in a guest house. I can probably think of a thousand reasons- reduce commute time, repair works in one's house, attending late night meetings, but the reason really is none of the host's business unless its an illegal activity (even then the host may not be liable as far as the law goes). The next question was if I was planning to stay alone or with someone. By this time I could guage that I was getting a differential treatment based on some parameters- I don't think I need to elucidate these further. Altogether it reminded me of standard Delhi horror stories about pesky landlords. So Indian women, please book a standard five star hotel instead of trying out this quaint looking boutique "stay".

We loved our stay at Villa 33. Anil was very helpful and full of local knowledge and guidance to help us negotiate the local area. Our room was very comfortable with everything that we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and very good and it was lovely to meet other tourists and share experiences. We would definitely return. There are some really nice restaurants and bars a short walk away. We felt very safe walking around the area.

Only eight rooms in this specious former home in a quiet part of Haus Khaz: They are all distinctly decorated and quite comfortable. Anil, the owner and manager, was very helpful to us and the other guests. In the morning we had Masala chai and a full breakfast, and often there would be a diverse group of interesting peoples from around the world and India. Truly a very pleasant stay! We would come back without question.

Quiet location, friendly and generous service, tasty and affordable food. The building is very pretty. Anil our host was gracious, and generous with his time, knowledge and inclusions. We particularly enjoyed Anil’s company at breakfast each morning around the shared (and rather grand) dining table. This was a fun chance to meet people travelling from other places too. Thanks Anil and staff!

I visited Delhi from New York for 2 weeks due to a family emergency during the pandemic in may 2021. Villa 33 went out of their way to accommodate me during these tough times.
Overall, 5 stars to Anil and the villa 33 team on all fronts. Let me give some more details:
Location: very central south Delhi location, highly accessible to markets and transportation. The house is in a corner, making it quiet (hard to find in Delhi) and green (trees etc).
Accommodations: very comfortable, large rooms (comparable to deluxe room in a hotel) with a well appointed bathroom and private balcony. The house itself is beautiful and very well kept. It’s not luxurious like a hotel but very comfortable and extremely warm/homely. Security (extremely important in delhi) is great both in the house and the locality.
Amenities: All the essentials (including any requests) are made available. Comfortable beds and linens, plenty of good closet space and ornate furniture. Beverages and food was extremely delicious and healthy. Internet is very good, almost comparable to the western world (best per Indian standards).
Staff: was extremely attentive to all my needs. Mr Anil takes personal interest to make sure guests are comfortable, and goes above and beyond.
Overall, highly recommend villa 33. The experience is best described as staying at a rich Indian uncle’s house.

Beautiful beautiful building. Extremely friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to help. Delicious breakfast. Clean bedroom. Lovely homely atmosphere. Great WiFi connection. A tiny bit of effort to shampoo the sofas in the living room to smell better and some basic repairs in the bedrooms will turn this place into heaven!

I would strongly recommend Villa33.10/10! It is a beautiful villa in a safe location . We had been badly scammed on arrival in Delhi and our host Jehan , went out of his way to locate us and he and his father went out of their way to retrieve our money and get us safely to their beautiful home . Mr Saigal and his wife waited up while their driver brought us home . They cooked for us and wouldn’t go to bed till we were fed and settled . Our room was stunning and spacious . Anils kindness will stay with us for life .They are exceptional hosts and wonderful human beings . I hope we can return one day ., to this wonderful property . You might be lucky to get a room as they as deservedly usually full .
