This was an amazing place to stay. From the moment we stepped off the boat we knew it was going to be good. It is a really nice place and whilst remote there is a lot to do - table tennis, kayaks/paddleboards, swimming off the dock (they do also have a pool, which unfortunately was undergoing maintenance whilst we were there). We also went for a tour of the 'garden' and saw sloths and frogs. It is run by a lovely french family and our son enjoyed playing with their young daughter and her toys! The rooms are lovely with great views from the balcony. The food is also really nice - breakfast was a fresh smoothie, tea/coffee, fresh toast with jams and then a choice of eggs, pancakes or yogurt and granola - all really yummy. You can also have dinner there each night which was really lovely every night, and included wine. They are super helpful - they helped organise a boat trip for us and were always happy to call boat taxis for us whenever we wanted to go anywhere. We highly recommend this place!

Doro and Xav are nice enough most of the time, but they can be extremely judgmental. They feel entitled to judge who can interact with whom at their place as if they are have some kind of moral authority about the human interactions there. You would make some nice agents for the moral police in Iran! They like to judge people quickly without knowing them at all, clients as well as volunteers. Not very professional. They can´t help but sticking their nose into relationships that shouldn't be of their concern.

This is a great place for a 'get-away'. Not much to do other than relax, but that is exactly what we went there for. Rooms were comfortable and clean, hosts doing a good job of fighting the constant battle with rainforest insects and humidity. Had a nice hour-long hike in the forest with the local 'gardener', home-cooked food was professionally prepared and excellent, staff were fun and engaging. Beer prices were very reasonable! Bonus seeing the 'local' sloth in the garden right on the property! We had a great visit and would stay there again. Keep up the great work guys!

It would take me two days to write all the great things about this incredible place but lets summarize it . When you reach the main island you still have to take a taxi boat to come to Los Secretos but once you get closer to the pier of this place you realize this was the best choice you have made. The peace that comes over you when you step out of the boat is not to describe with words. Xavier or his lovely wife Dorote welcome you by the boat and take you to your room with the most amazing view over the water. Everytime you stand (sit) on your balcony you hear the birds singing or monkeys jumping from a tree to a tree, caymans or frogs or just simple the sound of the ocean. Xavier's guest house is right in the middle of beautiful jungle garden that offers a nice walk where you surely spot some nice animals. We have seen dolphins every day from the balcony, every evening two toed or three toed sloth came to eat the flowers under Xavier's guesthouse that you could almost touch him. Our kids were so excited to see a sloth from such a distance, never thought it would be possible. Xavier and Dorote cook every evening a delicious dinner (we had lobster, 2x fish and porkchop) with a nice wine, homemade bread and nice desert afterwards. Their hospitality is amazing. They are sweet and very friendly and their 2 year old daughter Lily was a great company to our two boys. Balu and Allin, the two dogs, were big friends with our boys and there were tears coming down the cheeks when we had to leave them behind. This place felt like home, we enjoyed every minute there, kayak, fishing from the pier, you name it. This is a place that you would definatelly love to come back to. Thank you guys for everything. Xxx

My husband and I adore this property! We have stayed a similar types of ecolodges in the past, but Los Secretos is by far the mast relaxing place we have ever stayed. If you are looking to unwind, this is the place to do it. The inn's location - set up high with expansive views of the surrounding bay and islands - is idyllic! We loved sitting out on our balcony and feeling a part of our surroundings. While there we used the on property kayaks and paddle boards and explored nearby mangrove groves..The water was the perfect temperature fo swimming as well! Xavier and Dorothy are wonderful hosts. They readily helped us with everything we needed and made us feel so welcome. The meals were delicious! Xavier, who at one time thought of opening a restaurant, is an excellent cook!. Dinners are served family style and are conducive to great conversation with other guests. My husband and I will definite be back to Los Secretos!!
