Recently, the owners of this hotel have changed. The new owners are not on-site and I think the place is maybe going a bit downhill. Everyone there was very friendly but when we were there, the atmosphere was generally lacking. Our room was spacious and pretty clean. After the first night, however, there was no hot water and this wasn't...

Management is great and extremely helpful. The food is ok, the seafood was the only thing for me worth getting on the menu lobster and fish yum. We stayed during one of the biggest swells and highest tides bocas has had in years so our decision to leave was effected by that and it out of the hotels control. But...

Playa Bluff is a beautiful location on Isla Colon, Panama, and offers a sharp contrast to the island's main town- Bocas. On the day my husband, myself and a friend went to visit the road to the lodge's restaurant (our destination) had been washed out but we continued on—happy to be hiking along the ocean and through the tropical forest....

Playa Bluff Lodge was a very nice place. The rooms where very big, clean and nicely decorated. The onsite restaurant and bar also serves good food and nice drink. Only downside was that the waitress, despite being a very nice and helpful girl, had a really bad short term memory and more or less every time managed to forget orders....

Nice place that is a good 20-30min dirt/beach ride to town. Perfect of you just want to get away. No internet, wifi, A/C, TV or any connection to the world unless you take ride into town. A trip to town can cost $15-20 each way, depends on if you can make a deal or befriend a taxi driver. Staff is...

Playa Bluff Lodge is a bit far removed from Bocas Town and that proved to be a wonderful thing! This is a relaxing and lovely spot run by the nicest of people and staffed with people who really care that you have a good time but also allow plenty of space to do your own thing. The beach is gorgeous...

Fantastic atmosphere, cool bar and pool. The staff is friendly and inviting. My wife, 2 teenage boys and I rode bikes out to this place in the pouring rain. After a tough trek, the covered bar was a great place to relax, drink and eat. We didn't spend the night, but had a very pleasant afternoon.

My wife and 2 daughters (3 and 6 y/o) stayed at the lodge for four nights. It's a bit of a haul outside of town; to get there requires a truck taxi, or at least a vehicle with plenty of clearance, as the road crosses a few beaches, small creeks, and big potholes. But the 30 minute drive or so...

The owners (Helene and Reiner), their children, staff, and new manager (Cindy) were delightful hosts. They go out of their way to make you feel part of their family and, at the same time, welcomed guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The gardens and pool are immaculately maintained. The food was very good. This is a nice alternative to...

Quite place. Karen and Steve make this place. The owners are a bit stand offish. Breakfast was excellent every Time. A little far from town. Over 2 hour walk. 30 minute cab ride and you could wait for an hour or so for them to show up. Restaurant is good here. Beach is nice. Can't really swim in it. The...

“The wifi was not In-Room. You had to be sitting in the restaurant for it to work but it was free. At night time, there didn't seem to be any managers etc on site so I occasionally worried that if something were to arise, I'm not sure we would have had any help...”
