This is our second stay at Aliya sigiriya. We have really enjoyed hospitality of hotel staff. Managed to planed family backpack trip. Totally worth with relaxing environment specially pool area and relaxing surroundings. Service was amazing. Looking forward to visit again.
There's a perfect blend of nature & the premises. Great Food & the superb services for both locals & foreigners. Attractive premises. I will be travel again. My family visited there for holiday & my kid loves the location more & he refused to go home back. Food was delicious & there was live cooking too. Friendliness and professional staff. This is my 10th visit to Aliya Resort. Superb Ayurvedic Spa experience.
We was Aliya resort and spa one day as a half board package. This our fist time aliya resort. starting from welcome until finished our day hospitality is top class. Rooms conditions are really acamdate definitely we will back soon! I want to highlight restaurant staff where we been our meal.they are very attentive thank you !
This hotel is the perfect mix of beauty, friendliness and professionally. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with arranging transport. The main view you see is Sigiriya which wowed us! We stayed in modern townhouses which were so clean and the children loved the elephant theme. We purchased full board and the food options available were plentiful and delicious. The restaurant staff particularly were so friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. Stopping at this hotel is a good idea if you want to travel to any of Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Minneriya National parks. This 4-star hotel leaves guests wondering why it isn't rated 5 stars. We highly recommend to any tourist!
Me and my family visited for our holiday. It was a great experience with kind staff and their quick service. We booked for 2 days food was delicious. Rooms are very clean. Nature is amazing. I felt it's not enough 2 days. We met a waiter called nishantha with always smiley face and he is serving us very fast
We stayed in many hotels in Sri Lanka and this was one of my favorites. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is extremely accommodating, the spa treatments are out of this world (and inexpensive), the lobby is beautiful, and the view is spectacular. I highly recommend!
A beautiful, fascinating country with lovely people. By way of context, we spent 10 days in Sri Lanka from mid to end May 2022. We are a family of 4 including two girls (10 &11). We had a private driver/guide. The itinerary was Kandy (Amaya Hills), Dambulla, Sigiriya, safari, Polonnaruwa (Aliya Resort) and then a beach break in Kalkudha on the E. coast (Uga Bay). Despite well-publicised economic and political problems, we had no issues. We avoided Colombo (rainy anyway) and our private driver had no serious issues with fuel (as the tourist industry is given priority). We had huge sympathies for the locals though, stuck in long fuel queues and suffering rampant inflation. Hotels were also practically empty. We felt safe throughout and the locals were so friendly. Travel there and support Sri Lanka rather than staying away. We also had no health problems at all and no issues with mosquitoes. Aliya Resort is kind of in the middle of nowhere in the hot dry pains in the Golden Triangle. However, it is a very good base for exploring Dambulla cave temple, Sigiriya rock fortress (the highlight of our trip), Polonnaruwa ancient capital and elephant safari (highlight for the kids). You probably need your own transport. The hotel is a modern building which makes full use of available space and amazing view of Sigiriya in the distance. All public areas have huge open balconies to teh view and capture the cooling breeze. That together with its open modern design and elephant theme (Aliya means elephant in sinhalese) gives it the Wow factor. The pool is massive and a real centrepiece. Also most welcome in this hot, dry climate. The rooms are in moderns two story challets spread out in the spacious grounds. It was very tranquille when we were there (buy hotel was only 10% occupied). Our upstairs balcony suite had a large master bedroom with family bathroom and a kids twin room up a steep spiral saircase (no bathroom). It suited us perfectly and was of high quality. Spacious and high quality bathroom and other ameneties. Good internet and air-con. We didnt try the spa. The gym was large and well equipped. The nature trail around the grounds and the paper recycling plant were a nice touch. We were on half board, and maybe due to the low occupancy, this consisted of a limited set menu in the evenings. The food was good but we could have done with more choice. It became a little repetetive after a few days. Service was friendly but a little unprofessional/untrained at times (a tred we experienced throughout the trip). Breakfasts were excellent. Great choice and lots of fresh fruit. Note that beer (including local Lion beer) and soft drinks are good. However there is a very limited choice of rather low quality wine hare and at the other hotels we visited. Stick to the excellet and varied fruit juices! Overall, a place we would highly recommend. Also good value for money.…
We moved location from a different hotel to Aliya resort as prefious hotel on checking in as was more 2* than the 4* we were hoping for. This was a FANTASTIC decision! We audiabley wowed when entered the main reception area - cool towel, beautiful view, stunning artwork and passion fruit sorbet! Fantastic first impressions. Staff all very welcoming. One particular manager and waiter (I don't know names as no badges/wasn't introduced by name facilitated gluten free pancakes for my wife is which was actually a highlight. We are vegetarian and I admit that there wasn't fantastic vegetarian options and if staying longer than a few days I think we would have struggled. The food quality was 3* but somewhat expected given economic climate. Good service. Fantastic bedroom cleanliness, special towels/welcome message and amenities in the room (bath, shower) the area is very specious and we found it was mostly quiet even in room 1 near the main area. The chalets and suites also looked great. Reasonable activities to keep you busy for maybe 2-4 nights but not much more unless your plan is for a base and to use the pool. The pool is FANTASTIC and clean. Very pleased with our stay here and in our opinion was worth the 110$/night for the double room. Improvements could be made on food quality/variety especially for vegetarian/vegans - a modernisation (and probably consolidation) of the menu in general is suggested. The cocktails were average-good and some more interesting creations would be appreciated - e.g. Cafe Chill in Ella did a fantastic cardimon and ginger cocktail which surpassed any expectations. Thank you for our 2 night stay for our honeymoon tour. …
this hotel was beyond our expectations, everything was perfect, the room, the facilities, the pool, the spa, my kids really enjoyed it and for us was incredible. We spent 3 nights there but for sure I wouldn't mind to spend more time in this paradise! Thanks to everyone for make it possible!!!
