After a disastrous eight high drive through eighteen hair pin bends from mahiyanganaya to Kandy at 1 am during amongst worst earth slips ,We choose to call this place out of random. The owner himself answered at the dead of the night and took us in and carried our bags to beds were so inviting and comfy. Bathrooms clean we...

We didn't choose this hotel but it was recommended by the lady where we stayed for the previous night. I tried to think of good things about it and I do agree that this place, if allowed with some renovation and design or the staff with some training in English, could become an option for your stay in Kandy. The...

We stayed for one night in PLanter's Hotel. The staff was lovely, and gave us plenty of advices and recommandations. Rooms are spacious. The hotel is set a little apart from the town, on the hills. It is very quiet, surrounded by the forest. Nice view.

The Planters Hotel is situated around a five minute walk from the Kandy Lake and around 30-40 minites to walk into the centre of town. Its location is up a steepish hill and offers little or no view of the lake. The building has a grand old colonial feel, aided by the slightly shabby decor and (in our room) some...

This moderately priced ex-colonial mansion may be a little past its prime but it still has a sense of grandeur & style of a previous generation which permeates the picturesque town of Kandy in the mountains behind Colombo. Situated a little beyond the end of the ancient man-made lake which was built centuries ago to service the palace, the hotel...

Staff was really helpful, many thank...

The Planter's Hotel is a nice hotel with a perfect basis for your Kandy visit. Don't expect the most beautiful rooms but the building is beautiful as well as the view from the terrace where breakfast and dinner is served. The staff is very nice and trying very hard to offer the best service. I guess there are some young...

This place is overpriced and overrated. It hasn't been refurbished for ages, and it clearly shows. The bathroom was disgusting, and the AC was weak. It could be a really nice place with some investment, but for the time being: Stay away, there are several better options in the area.

A nice walk to the lake and Kandy the staff couldn't be more helpful an elegant old bldg, not quite up to std; a good price compared to other offers Needed a wardrobe, or somewhere to hang clothes; a fan in the eating area would keep the mosquitos away; the food offerings were not very wide, and seemed overpriced to...
