Host Mrs. Kumari is really nice. Homestay is an old house nice maintained and renovated. Rooms are on first floor with a common sitting area to read and relax with indoor plants. Breakfast was awesome and Mrs. Kumari arranged transportation as well for day tours to Sigiriya and Dambulla. Walking distance to famous Temple of tooth and Kandy lake. Highly...

This is a wonderful hideaway right in the centre of Kandy. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, looking out for your welfare (eg warning you about locals cons, telling you the accurate costs of things etc) and overall being very hospitable. She was also very kind, on the morning of our checkout I was feeling unwell and she let...

The first thing to work about this warm abode is how to find it. The street number is clearly marked on the front near the front door (see my foto), but I did have some confusion about what street it was in until the landlady, Mrs Kumari Madugalle, sent me a pdf of a map with some jottings of her...

Let's be honest upfront: if you're looking for AC-luxury, this is probably not your place. Because it's simple and there is only a fan in the room. But if you're interested in a guesthouse with a Family connection, in walking distance of the city centre, affordable and clean, the this is a place I can truly recommend. Unspectacular if not...

Its a very cosy family place with a handful of rooms. For us it was a bit hard to find as there is no sign outside an you just have to ring the bell at the right number. The breakfastand the dinner was very taste. The dinner a bit expensive though.

Madugalles Guest House was perfect for all our family and we had a great stay with delicious homemade breakfast and dinner. Kumari is an incredibly warm and welcoming host and made us feel at home. She was so helpful in organising our stay in Kandy and even some tours around the city. The place was absolutely lovely- decorated so nicely-,...

Staying here was like coming home and visiting grandma and the family. The lady was so heartwarming and gave us tipps to discover the city of Kandy and how to travel further. In total we stayed 3 nights and the breakfast was great and even with homemade jam and juice. Also the dinner was just delicious. One evening we were...

Travelling with 2 teenagers aged 19 and 13, we have just left Kandy after 2 very special nights here. Our host Kumari is one of the most gentle, wise and serene ladies I have met. The house is 200 years old and the rooms are sizeable. It was hot in Kandy (35c) but fans more than sufficient - we always...

We went there twice, and it was a really nice stay, from the guesthouse you can see the monkeys, the room is clean (but without AC), and "mosquito proof" (we still found some). The host is really nice, she said that we could a cooking class with her, in which we actually didn't do anything, she cooked and explained and...

We stayed here for three nights in July. The owner, Kumari, is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was simple but clean, with no A/c but an overhead fan and mosquito netting over the bed. The screened windows have bars on them for security so you can leave them open for air during the day and at night. There’s hot...
