On arriving at Thr Fox Hotel we where warmly greeted after a long train journey from Anuradhapura , with chilled fruit drink & refreshing towels. The Hotel & garden are immaculate & tranquil, a total contrast to the City outside the entrance to the Hotel. All the staff , from security at the entrance , cleaners,reception staff, gardeners & restaurant staff where so polite & very professional. The Restaurant Manager was so helpful & caring . He was considerate in making sure the food was nut free due to my severe allergy. The garden was so beautiful; the gardeners dedication to every detail to maintain a peaceful beautiful surroundings, made our stay very special. The swimming pool was so wellcome & the calmness of the surroundings allowed us to relax from the beginning of our stay.Thank you to all the staff at The Fox.

On arrival at the hotel you may find it in a strange location but once entering you can see what a lovel boutique hotel this is, Lots of lovely art hangs on the reception walls and the matraide was so friendly and informative. We were helped to the room by Scoty who was incredible friendly and helpful, this also went for Chandana who was the pool attendant who when we asked him where the wine shop was he not only showed us he took us. The restaurant staff were all very good as were all the staff. Yes we had a great time there,and could easily have stayed longer.

We had a pleasant stay at Fox Jaffna from 8th to 12 August 2022. This was our first visit to Jaffna, so that we were very exiting as well as very careful in selecting the place to stay as well as the places to visit. We took the train from Colombo to Jaffna as my kids were so exited on a long train trip. Also we felt that is the best mode of traveling to Jaffna. Ever since we arrived at the hotel we started feeling like home as the service and the care given by the staff has been so warm and loving. We as a family have visited many resorts around the island and what was so unique about Fox was the service levels of the staff up and above all. They were well trained highly skilled and professional. Prabhoo, Trevine and other staff has been exceptional. We loved the food throughout which they served as a blend of western and Jaffna special Sri Lankan dishes.
Rooms were cleaned very often by the staff and whenever our kids makes it messy the staff were kind enough to clean them even before we requested.
Also the location is so convenient and located away from the busy congested Jaffna city but just facing the main KKS -Jaffna road making commuting very easy. The travel time for Jaffna city was just 15 mins.
Overall highly recommended resort for your Jaffna tour.

Our stay of 4 days at Fox Jaffna was truly a great one. We reached Jaffna via the train and the hotel is within close proximity to the Jaffna Train station. The staff was nice enough to arrange a bike for us to travel to the places we wanted to visit in Jaffna. Thank you for arranging it for us. The food served at Fox Jaffna was truly exceptional. We got to experience authentic Jaffna food during out stay. The Jaffna street food festival was a highlight of our stay as we got to enjoy many authentic Jaffna cuisine under one roof. Thank you Mr. Trevine and the F&B staff for your incredible service.Special mention to the chef who made their speciality ice cream upon request. Thank you!
When you walk into the hotel you will enjoy its calmness. The property is beautiful and has a nice pool to relax and enjoy. The hotel has a great collection of art and a bunker museum which is quite nice. The housekeeping staff did a great job of cleaning our rooms on a daily basis.
Truly a gem and a must-visit place if you are in Jaffna. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and fam who are planning to visit Jaffna. Thank you Fox Jaffna, you were wonderful!

We stayed in Jaffna for 3 nights and 4 days and Fox was our 2nd hotel stay in Jaffna. Fox is in the middle of the city and when you enter the hotel, you feel it's Walawwa and you don't get the feeling of a hotel till you go to the garden which is not visible from the entrance. The architecture of the hotel is magnificent and gives so many details to the ambience. The garden is exceptional, well maintained and simply breathtaking. Even though hotel rooms are slightly smaller, that room contains all that you need for a great stay. The bed was so comfy, room and the bathroom were clean. The food was amazing and the service is excellent. When we were taking breakfast my husband went to take a Thosei, it was finished and the Cheff saw that and he personally came and he served it to his plate. And the property has a long story before the war time, bunkers, military life, etc. and you should not forget to visit the Art Gallery with incredibly beautiful arts. And my kids really enjoyed in the pool and they gave us extended pool time till 10pm. Whoever who looks for quality but also greenery in Jaffna, I would say it's Fox, nothing but the best. I wish you all the best and thank you so much for making our trip so memorable.

Fox Resort Jaffna is a lovely Boutique Hotel situated in a beautifully landscaped garden. The main house was the family home of a gentleman well connected in the local arts scene and there are fabulous paintings in the communal spaces and all the rooms. The rooms are spacious and lovingly furnished, most with a balcony overlooking the pool. I could swear that the pool is heated, which is very nice for those early morning or evening swims. Unlike other hotels, the generous pool timing is from 6 am to 9 pm.
The outdoor seating at the restaurant afford a perfect view of the garden and the food is truly delicious. The breakfast buffet is very varied with a mix of European treats like pancakes, waffles, brown bread and muffins and Sri-Lanka/ Indian delights like dosai etc. The lunch and dinner menu also offers something for everyone and everything we ate was delicious and very reasonably priced. The hotel has no liquor license, but guests are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages without a corkage fee. The staff are very welcoming and really go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. We headed out for a day trip very early in the morning and they made us a delightful packed breakfast. Definitely worth a longer visit, if you are in the area!
Due to the lush grounds, the hotel is a favourite venue for photo shoots of all descriptions, and in the run-up to the wedding seasons, you can expect to witness a photo shoot or two, especially on April and July. They are very colourful and fascinating to watch, but they can be a tiny bit annoying as well, as the photographers will try to shoo you away like unwanted kittens.

Our staying at the Fox resort was absolutely phenomenal. We stayed for five nights and could’ve stayed for much longer. The property is beautiful with gorgeous landscaping. The staff is friendly courteous and offered the perfect combination of availability and privacy. The rooms were spotless- some of the highlights were the very well-maintained and cold AC, wonderful shower pressure with hot water, a nice fridge that kept beverage is very cool, and wonderful turndown service. The food was outstanding with a wide range of Jaffna favorites and some nice western cuisine as well. We hosted a dinner for 20 people there during our stay and it was executed with excellence- everyone had a fantastic time. Amith Took care of us throughout our stay and made the trip one of our favorites In Sri Lanka. Vasanth kumar kept our room spotless and made our stay very enjoyable.

This resort is a paradise just out of Jaffna town. The resort is extremely clean, modern rooms and excellent local food.
During our stay in Jaffna we stayed at both Valumpuri and Jetwing, however Fox resorts was noticeably better in all facets.
The manager Trevine personally catered for all our needs asking each morning what we would like to have for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning - the food possibilities were endless and the head chef went out of his way to attend to our food cravings. Additionally, food was always prepared fresh and as a personal request chef Regi prepared hoppers for us each morning.
We also enjoyed service throughout the hotel including in the pool area thanks to Amith who was proactive and extremely attentive in his service.
It seems as this resort is the only to care for attention to detail and exceeding service standards, very refreshing for Jaffna.
The hotel does not have a liquor licence however was very happy for us to drink our own liquor at the pool or the restaurant which works out to be cheaper any way. They provided excellent mixes and suggestions for our own brought alcohol.
We will always be staying in this resort in future. Thanks to Trevine and Amith for looking after us.

We stayed at the hotel based on the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We had a mixed experience, the hotel certainly did not live up to the reviews we had read here. There are some positives, the food is great and the garden area is lovely, the bunker area is also very interesting. We booked a room in the main house but it was dark with extremely noisy AC and mosquitoes (no net over the bed) and so we moved to one of the newer rooms in the gardens when the manager could not fix the AC. The newer rooms are not very old, however they have not aged well and the bathroom particularly is in need of some repair and replacement. With regards to Covid, on day 1 staff were all wearing masks but by day 2 staff rarely were which we thought was odd, particularly as parts of Jaffna were quarantined during our stay. All in all it was not a bad stay, hotel choices in the area are very limited and this hotel generally was cleaner than a couple of other hotels we looked at whilst we were in the area.

When I wanted to stay at the Fox Jaffna with my friends for 4 days, from Head office staff to security, every single person was very helpful and happy to do their utmost to make our stay as comfortable as possible. What I value most is the personalized service accorded to us, as one of my friends was 91 years old! The boutique hotel is spotlessly clean. Surroundings inside the premises are beautiful! Any potential guest can decide to tryout once and you will want to stay again when visiting Jaffna!
