We found this place after being cheated at other place where we couldn't stay. The rooms are ok considering Sri Lankan standards, one might even say better than most you can find around, the price was reasonable. If you want to use AC then you need to pay 10 usd per night, otherwise fans. We stayed in the family room...

Planned to stay for three nights but ended up with five - lovely place with very friendly staff. Beach is just 3-5 minutes walk away and Unawatuna has a lot of shopping and restaurants, that made our stay a pleasure. We godt a large 4 persons room for our family - lots of space. Very quiet a night - also...

The rooms were of a fairly good quality, but the staff tried to charge us extra (above the booking.com price originally quoted for 5 people) for having a fifth person in 2 rooms, telling us that it was the "exchange rate" - the change was far too large to have been exchange rate fluctuations. After a long argument they settled...

We were 5 people in one double room with no A/C and one deluxe which had 3 people and A/C. We booked in Sri Lankan rupees and the staff tried to get us to pay extra due to the "exchange rate" which took 40 minutes of refusing (we have residence visas also) before they accepted we wouldn't be conned. They...

We stayed here for a few nights and fell in love with the place. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and the manageress is very helpful and cheery. Breakfast was basic but was served attentively and we were offered alternatives when we turned down the offer of omelette. Our room was large and the bathroom was beautiful,...

Our room was basic with an antique settee and small table. Wardrobe was tiny although we never unpacked - no drawer space. Had a/c and mozzie net and comfortable bed. Bathroom looked unfinished - needed a coat of paint. Also it was a wet room and you had to walk across the wet floor to go to the loo. Outside...

This place should be avoided. We were wary when we booked from other reviews so only booked two nights with a view to extending if it was nice. Suffice to say we moved out as soon as we could. We even considered leaving sooner as it was very annoying. From the start they had different terms and conditions with upfront...

We stayed at Manidi Villa only because our tuktuk driver took us to the wrong place. Well, wrong for us. And the place we had reserved didn't have accommodation available. After telling them we were on a tight budget, we got a small room, no breakfast included. It was ok, pretty clean, and with a mosquito net. The manageress was...

We stayed 4 nights here and found the atmosphere very relaxing and the staff most helpful. We found genuine family rooms hard to locate in Sri Lanka but this one is a good size and felt quite airy. Its set on the top floor which is nice but you will need to be active and use the stairs as there's...

“choose a rooms in the 2 floor, also the rooms with a fan are fine, nr. 13 is nice. Relax on the terrace. If you lookk for the local food for good price, go to Rotti restaurant, oposite the hotel Happy banana, its small, go inside, great breakfast and dinner. Go to Galle for one day trip by bus. Bus goes all day long from the bus station in the main street, or take tuk tuk for 300 LKR not more..”
