Arriving in Sri Lanka just before New Years without a hotel booking, a friendly traveler put us in contact with Abey at Eco Lodge. Eco Village is ideal for nature lovers and those who want total quietness or privacy. Its and ideal destination to relax, read a book or even for authors. This place is owned by a very kind heart ed old gentleman "Uncle Abey" and during my stay it felt like he was family. Don't expect any luxuries or 5 start treatment...

Eco Village is well worth the visit. There is a raised jungle walk through the marshland, and cabins over the water. The owner is now an old man. He told me he built the place himself with his two sons. There is some interesting architecture, although the accommodation is fairly basic. It´s a great place to chill out in solitude...
