My wife and I retreated from the winter in NZ for a couple of weeks in Tonga - sun,sea and sand. We had a wonderful week at the FaFa Island Resort. A short ferry ride in a lovlely yacht from the mainland, FaFa offers everything you need for a quiet relaxing holiday. The accommodation is excellent, the food scrumptious and...

This is Paradise! We had 5 nights here in June and we loved every minute. We were made to feel really welcome and the hosts and all the staff could not have done any more to make our stay more enjoyable. The food was at a consistently high standard every day. We couldn't disagree more with previous comments - it...

Hubby and I had the privilege of spending 7 wonderful days & nights on FaFa Island and cannot wait until we can get back there. From the moment we set foot on the sand after a very smooth crossing from Nuku'alofa, we were made to feel more than welcome. We were greeted by Tuli who escorted us up a beautiful...

We visited FaFa Resort in June 2013 and once again had a wonderfully relaxing time. From the moment we were met at the airport then driven to the wharf for the boat ride to the island we were looked after perfectly despite the horrible arrival time of 2.00 in the morning. The traditional fales and the gardens are maintained well...

Being handed a drink in a coconut and welcomed onto the island, there is no doubt we arrived off the boat in Paradise. I agree with the last review, don't listen to the negative reviews....we would be extremely hard pressed and very picky to find anything to complain about. Beautiful gardens, private spacious falas winding down a path to a...

First off, if I were you I would completely disregard the reviews below that whine about children and microwaved food. They are ridiculous and blight a resort that really does deserve an incredible amount of praise. We spent four nights at Fafa, three "official" nights, and one "almost" night since we opted for a late checkout of 12AM as our...

Let's start with the island, it's little short of a paradise! We wanted to have a break in the sun to chill after some testing times and found this place and were not disappointed with the reflection of reality against the image of the marketing (with one exception that you can read later). The fale was a delight and nothing...

We have just spent 2 days at Fafa. The staff were very friendly and helpful, food good, accommodation excellent. But weather was bad.....strong winds, cloudy sky and cold. My only complaint would be the size of the ferry boat used for the 45 minute passage to the island. We had winds around 30knts both ways and the journey was uncomfortable...

Whilst FaFa Island Resort is a mere 30 minutes by boat to the Tonga mainland it is so different it could be in the Caribbean or Mediterranean. The day we arrived in the Kingdom of Tonga the weather was rough and the boat trip out to FaFa was an experience of its own. Once safely on the Island we were...
