Located quietly, about 5 km outside of Nazca city. Big garden to walk around, with an own planetarium and sympathic display with contributions to the authentic, historic population of peru. Very nice location indeed, recommended to pass more than one night only. Good restaurant, spacy common rooms to talk and sit around. Small library. The rooms are ok, most of...

We toured Peru for 10 days and stayed at nice hotels in 4 cities. The Majoro was by far the best hotel we stayed at. After a long ride down a dusty gravel road, you arrive at a beautiful oasis in the desert. This former convent sits on acres of land with lush vegetation and many animals including peacocks and...

Lovely garden with resident alpaca. Rooms very basic. The only hotel we stayed at in Peru not to provide bottled water. Quite a way out of Nazca but probably better than staying in the town.

I stayed here with a large student travel group. The hotel is indeed beautiful, but two students in my group had personal belongings stolen from them. My roommate discovered late one night that her Blackberry and all her cash, dollars and soles, had been stolen. Another student had all her cash stolen as well. We went out to see if...

This is a lovely converted hacienda about 10 minutes outside downtown Nazca. Our room had a great garden view. They have a pool, great pieces of pre-Colombian pottery and fabrics on display in the rooms and common areas, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The Majoro is around 30 minutes from the Nazca archeological site of Cahuachi. They have nice comfortable ‘living...

Stayed here with a small tour group. A bit out-of-the-way - drive out of town, down a dirt road through the fields - but the grounds and building are beautifully kept. Room was simple but adequate. Good selection in the restaurant. Enjoyed sitting by the pool (too cold to swim), and appreciated the free internet. Only complaint - rooster crowing...

I just loved the experience! Hotel Majoro is a very nice place to stay, it was formerly a monastery so that gives it a nice envirorment. The staff was very friendly and they went off their way to make our stay wonderful. And the food was very nice too, loved the peruvian food! Also we were able to take the...

My tour group (GAP Adventures) spent two nights here during my Peruvian vacation last year. When I first arrived, my first impression was the beauty of the hotel and the grounds. Its a former convent that was turned into a hotel by its owners and the building is great to walk around. Theres a lot of vines with flowers growing...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Hacienda Majoro, a single floor hotel, was built in the 19th Century as an Augustine convent. In the early 20s it became a Pima cotton hacienda and its land was expropiated in 1968 with the Agrarian Reform. The previous owners converted the old hacienda building into a hotel in 1980. The present owner bought it in 2004 including 60 acres of land where tara trees (caesalpinea spinoza), cactus and grapes are grown.
