I've been traveling around the world for 18 months and stayed in many hostels in many countries. Here's my review of this one. I stayed here for four nights and enjoyed my stay here. - Private Double room - Very clean, with a very comfy bed, and great pillows. I also stayed in a 10 bed dorm for a few...

I stayed at Akilpo during a backpacking trip. Staff is great fun and helpful, the hostel is good for meeting people but definetely not a "party hostel". Dorms are clean and the kitchen is quite well-equipped. I used the hostel as a base for laguna 69 and laguna churup hikes, the organization is great and laguna 69 is cheap. Recommended...

An overall great expierence, which made my stay in Huaraz even better. The guys running the hostal are super helpful, funny and always there to give you some tips on hikes or stuff to do in the area. Huaraz has a lot to offer, either doing it by yourself or booking tours through the hostels agency. They'll provide you with...

We had a private room with a great view of the city centre. The managers of this place are great! They help you with trips even when you don't book it with them. There is a whiteboard where people can sign in for a trip. Trips are very cheap and the tourguides are really enthousiastic and seem to love their...

We arrived early in the morning after an over night bus and were so relieved to see the clean room and jump into the comfy beds! After months of traveling you really appreciate a good bed with good pillows! Great common area upstairs and reasonably good wifi. Would stay again!

We stayed 4 nights and this is the perfect hostel to relax in after long day hikes. The staff (4 brothers) are incredibly friendly and helpful, they provide details of numerous hikes and explain the difficulty levels for you. The bathrooms are always clean, dorms are cleaned daily and there are nice open common areas to chill out in. The...

My partner and I reserved at Akilpo for two nights after reading all of its wonderful reviews. This place doesn't disappoint! This family run business was clean and comfortable and the staff was extremely honest and knowledgeable about local hikes, very happy to give directions and maps to the most famous hikes in Huascaran to ones that you will never...

Akilpo is the place to stay in Huaraz. The hostel is run by a few brothers, with their friends and parents helping out around the place. I don't know how, but they're all incredibly friendly and helpful. A few of them are great for a laugh too. The rooms are really comfortable (there are actually beds and not bunks in...

Akilpo is a family run place with very warm an helpfull owners. The brothers Estefan and Benjamino have a huge knowledge about the treks in Cordillera Blanca and take their time, to explain you everything. Also you can rent hiking equipment in the hostel and the breakfast is delicious and not expensive at all. Definetly recommend it!!!
