TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
We stayed here for 2nights..I was eyeing for Belmond but our tour operator suggested this hotel. Quite a good alternative, we originally booked at room 63 which you have to take few stairs to get to your room. We decided to upgrade our room to...More
Plus: the grounds are like a private resort, rooms are tucked away throughout the property. The staff tries their best to be helpful. Great breakfast with quinoa pancakes. Piscina sours divine. Hot water bottles with turndown service. Good location. Complimentary tea and brownies in the...More
The hotel is a series of buildings in a garden setting on a slope by the river and the train tracks. Parts of the grounds are either ruins or were built to look old, in the Inka style, and there are nice views of the...More
The hotel is set on lovely grounds and its staff is friendly and welcoming. However, the windows did not have screens, meaning we had lots of bugs. The room did not feel dirty but it did not exactly feel clean either. The worst part was...More
The hotel grounds and the rooms we walked through were lovely. We had high expectations for lunch as this was the hotel our tour company wanted us to stay in instead of at Machu Picchu. I am so glad we did not stay here as...More

I cannot say with certainty but we saw others with suitcases on the train. Our guide who met us at the station seemed slightly surprised we only had our small rucksacks with us ( we had read you could only bring small rucksack to machu picchu). He said he had planned to drop any suitcases off first at the hotel before going onto the mountain .
Hope this helps.

Greetings -- yes the nature tours at Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel are wonderful. But as nice as they are, there is no comparison between the hotel grounds and Machu Picchu -- one of the great wonders of the world. There are many places to explore at this iconic Inca site. probably a better idea to head up there on day one and then see if one full day is enough to satisfy your appetite. That way you can enjoy the fantastic hotel grounds on day two or have the option to return to MP.
The nature tours generally last about an hour. But one is free to also wander on your own. Enjoy both experiences -- you will not forget either.
I would go for using the spa - when I was wandering through the orchid walk I thought I saw some rooms that might have their own heated pools but maybe it was the spa - I would call the hotel. There are plenty of spaces to... More
I would go for using the spa - when I was wandering through the orchid walk I thought I saw some rooms that might have their own heated pools but maybe it was the spa - I would call the hotel. There are plenty of spaces to enjoy at this hotel. Each room I have stayed in has been spacious and cool - the spa beckons.
