You will probably be here just for sleeping while you do Machu Picchu. It is an acceptable place for that. Their breakfasts are minimal but they do serve early for those who wat to see sunrise at the ruins. WiFi is strong, but only in the lobby. The staff were very friendly but had little English. This hotel is right...

A nice Peruvian hotel that could be even better with a few changes. Good view of the river that provides a wonderful rushing water backdrop for sleeping. The jet tub was wonderful to relax in even though you had to climb into it to close the drain before adding the water. The lighting is poor for makeup etc. and we...

My room was right next to the railroad. The only thing separating the window from the tracks was a sidewalk. The noise was incredible when a train went by, and they run from 4 am to 11 pm. Also, there's something wrong with the plumbing, as my shower would frequently turn scalding hot, making me dance in and out of...

We spent two weeks in Peru all booked by Imagine Latin America. We flew to Lima then onward to Arequipa for two nights to explore and begin to acclimatise. Then off to Colca Valley (higher still) to stay at the Colca Lodge a beautiful spa hotel in a fantastic setting. We visited the condors from here. Next to Puno and Lake Titicaca...

I stayed in the hotel because it was organised and booked from my travel agency. I changed the room because it was to the train and trainstation. Very loud. Than they moved me to the other side and this was the river. As well loud but the noise of water was better than trains. Positive was the breakfast and on...

This hotel is very basic and fine if you just need a place to stay before going to Machu Picchu but make sure you book a River Room. The noise of the river is loud but nothing compared to the sound of the trains, which pass the hotel very regularly. The hotel is situated on the train tracks, so there...

I traveled with my daughter and grandson and the only 3 bed unit faced the railroad track. We were told that the last train was at 9 pm. We were not aware that the trains would re-shift until midnight. Do not accept a room facing the trains. It sounds like a plane is coming in the room. With all of...

Not sure why people complain about the river noise -- it's the best natural white-noise source imaginable. People pay money for machines that create less effective sleeping aids. Anyway, room was clean, decor was calming, overall experience was quite satisfactory for the money. Very large bathroom with lots of towels, etc. We had just come off 4 days on the...

If you are looking to get more than 1 hour sleep this place is not for you. The train track is right outside the hotel and it felt like the flying Scotsman was coming through our hotel room. It's a real shame as the hotel was lovely and the staff were extremely kind. Not what you need when you're getting...

I am personally a very light sleeper, I will wake up to any sort of small movement or noise but to my surprise, I actually like listening to the roaring river sound throughout the night. I find it relaxing and comfortable. I felt like I was sleeping while it was raining heavily outside. We stayed for 2 nights in our...
