A group I was traveling with was invited up to Rondon Ridge Lodge by a dignitary for lunch and we were all duly impressed. The view and gardens were spectacular and the food was some of the best we had in country.

Rondon Ridge Lodge is about 30 minutes out of Mt Hagen along an unpaved but reasonable road that snakes its way some 2000' above the Wanghi Valley. The main lodge is a large building full of interesting local carvings with reception and the bar down one end, a sitting area in the middle and a dining area at the far...

We were staying down in Mt Hagen for the Sing Sing and took a day trip up to Rondon Ridge for some bird photography. How I wish I never knew of this lodge when I booked my trip. If you are visiting Mt Hagen this is the place to stay. High up on a ridge overlooking Mt Hagen town down...

Rondon Ridge is a beautiful place with very good service. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The staff, especially the manager, did everything possible to make certain we were comfortable. Do walk the trail behind the lodge, we observed birds of paradise and Thomas, the botanist, shared his knowledge of birds and plants. The restaurant is alright, but I...

The view from the restaurant is amazing and breath taking. Over looking the Mt. Hagen and the city. A perfect place to relax, retreat and drink a wine while the sun is setting. The vicinity is very nature friendly, lots of plants and flowers around. They do have their own hydroelectricity and water supply. It is a cosy modern and...

Great views of Mt Hagen below with spacious, comfortable rooms although not sure how long that'll last with the new construction. Comparatively, Rondon had consistently the best food of all 3 of the Trans Niugini Tour lodges where we stayed. The service at airport pick up, check-in/out, and especially in the restaurant was excellent. Nothing was too hard. Due to...

Rondon Ridge is in a beautiful spot. The view over Mt Hagen at dawn is spectacular. The lodge is well presented and the staff welcoming. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is average and the drive up the mountin is long and bone-shaking. By comparison with other accommodation in Mt Hagen, it is heavenly. It is eco-friendly...

Raymond was such a joy to learn from. He gave us so much valuable information about the history, the people and the economy of the Mt. Hagen. He is a farmer/gardener in his village when he is not assisting with tours. He is very proud and knowledgable. Definitely request Raymond as your guide, he truly made a difference in our...

Rondon Ridge was our final, one-night stay in PNG. The road up to the lodge is wonderfully resplendent with views of agriculture, homes, schools, welcoming locals. Rondon Ridge offers fabulously panoramic views of the valley yet architecture and size seem out of place in this remote and rustic part of the world. Lovely gardens and spacious lobby. Our two-level room...

“All 12 rooms are more or less the same size with en-suite bathroom, basic but comfortable, very spacious and have own outdoor seating area outside the room so you can admire a fantastic view. However they are now building additional rooms & are due to complete sometime in 2015. These new rooms will be much more modern & spacious apparently! So look out for this if you plan to come later in mid/late 2015.”

“Wait until construction of new rooms is done and then get one of them, with an unobstructed view and no construction noise. Or better yet, consider the Highlands Inn or some other lodging.”
