The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager, Tim, was always close by and made you feel welcomed. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The wifi can get a bit strained at peak hours. The breakfasts were good and well executed. The gym is small but has the essentials for when you need to relieve the work related stresses of...

Rooms are big, but old and dirty. Food and drinks are crazy expensive for what you get. Service is crap. I will not stay here again. There are way better hotels for the price they are charging that have much better facilities.

Reception was efficient and the complimentary voucher for a draft beer topped the bill. We stayed only the one night but found the rooms comfortable and clean. Oh and the in room air conditioners work up a storm. 16 degrees all night long, beautiful. Dinner of peri peri spatchcock chicken was hot and super tender. The breakfast was efficient and...

Protea hotel Victoria Island is a nice boutique hotel in the bustling VI area of Lagos. The rooms are nicely furnished, beds comfortable and bathrooms are modern. The food is delicious. I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and as such I have eaten a number of meals from their menu and I must say that the...

Nice hotel to stay for business. Friendly staff, very good seafood and good breakfast. Please don't fault to order their Jumbo Prawns with steamed vegetables. Very reliable wifi in rooms and lobby/restaurant. Fair room rates and walking distance to Total deep water building located at Eko towers.

The staff are second to none in terms of helpfulness and proactive. The room was fine. There is a good casual sitting area for meeting people. Food is very good (breakfast, dinner). However they failed to make my 3.30 am wake up call for the plane - luckily my phone alarm worked!

Thank you for your positive review and I will pass on your great food comments to the kitchen. I do apologize regarding your wake up call not being done, a full investigation has been conducted and all staff retrained on their procedures to follow so this will not occur again. We do hope to welcome you back soon.

I was a guest at the Protea Hotel, Victoria Island, for 4 weeks while on business. The hotel is fairly small, (around 60 rooms???), but is huge on customer service! The General Manager, TIm, and the Executive Chef, Morne, set the example for the hotel staff and were visible from early morning breakfasts through the day until late evening. All...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This stunning boutique hotel arguably offers the finest accommodation in downtown Lagos. Conveniently situated right in the heart of Victoria Island's hotel district, everything is near at hand, with Kuramo Waters and the Atlantic Ocean being in easy reach of the hotel. Designed for the discerning traveller, the hotel offers fine dining in elegant surroundings while the secure location ensures peace and quiet from the surrounding hustle and bustle of the city. In the normal Protea Hotels tradition, nothing is ever too much trouble to ensure our GUESTS enjoy all the facilities needed by today's traveller. If you use a little bit of street savvy, Lagos can offer you a number of unique experiences. It has more night clubs and live music than just about any other West African city and is chiefly known for its music. The late Fela Kuti came from an outer suburb of Lagos. Sunny Ade, king of juju music, still calls it home as does the Afro-reggae specialist Sonny Okosun. Sunny Ade's club,Ariya Night Club, is in Yaba and is worth a visit - as is the open-air Jazz 38 where, if you've had the foresight to bring your own musical instrument with you, you might score an invitation to jam with the band. ... more   less
