We spent two nights at this hotel and truly enjoyed it. The architecture and decorating is very well done. The location, right at the beginning of the dunes, is fantastic. The food was good. We did spend a night in the desert, after a camel trek. It is a place I will always remember!

It's position with the dunes right at the end of the terrace was incredible, and the swimming pool and sun beds were an amazing way to while away a couple of days. Our room and the food were also great. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly, but unfortunately the unwelcome attention I received from one in particular really...

I echo much of what Themaevequeen has previously written. I was recommended this hotel by another expert on TA and was not disappointed. Great food, very attentive and friendly staff, good location next to the dunes. Touring by motorbike this was a rest period for me, though I still did tracks in the area. Even though it was winter (end...

We arrived without a booking in january. We had 2 "view" rooms facing the dunes - incredible view. Between them was a general access loggia with lots of seating. The heating was efficient and the hot water plentiful. The desert is cold at night so this was good but at this hotel the dining room was also properly heated which...

It's quiet and quite clean. This hotel has a ideal location, directly on dunes, in front of the other colossal hotels which line the band of sand. Therefore you won't be disturb by the other tourists. The staff is accomodating and welcoming. It's not luxuery but it's really charming. We where almost alone and we really enjoyed our stay. Hotel Kasbah Kanz Erremal positions itself as a hotel/kasbah with an upmarket design. We booked Hotel Kasbah Kanz Erremal to close off a 3 day trip in the dessert during which we slept in tents and on mattresses on the ground. We were looking for a bit of luxury in preparation of our final journey back to Marrakesh. The mistake...

Stayed 1 night in hotel and 1 night in desert. Hotel is very pretty, with an awesome view on the desert. The men who worked there were kind, but a bit bored. Maybe because there were not many guests during our stay. Don't do the camel safari. The guide didn't spoke English, and his french was also poor. So there...

The hotel has a great location on the edge of the desert and our room was large and comfortable (but not the cleanest). We slept here one night and stayed in the desert for our second night. There was a long wait for dinner and when it arrived we were disappointed (there aren't really many other options around though). The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kanz Erremal is located at the base of the desert dunes, surrounded by the fascinating landscape of Erg Chebbi, in the southeast of Morocco. It is located 36 kilometres from Rissani, a 7-minute drive from the centre of Merzouga (free shuttle between Merzouga-hotel) and only a stone's throw away of the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi. Kanz Erremal has a haimas camp and also organizes a ridding a camel trip in order to spend a night in the desert. Furthermore, it organizes seven-road trips to explore the spectacular places that the landscape offers. The Hotel has the structure of a typical kasbah: it is made of adobe mud and hay. The rooms have a traditional decoration, typical from the region. They have air conditioning, free wifi access, bathroom and great external views, most of them to the dunes. The pool is located in front of the dunes, so swimmers have the impression to swim in the middle of the desert. The hotel offers a good example of traditional Moroccan cuisine based on natural ingredients: hariras (soups), vegetable tagins, chicken, beef, lamb, varied couscous, raw and cooked salads, skewers, Berber pizza... In short, Kanz Erremal is a place of peace and authenticity and a good site in order to discover the spectacular golden sand of the Sahara dunes. ... more   less
