At first glance the hotel looks just like promised in the pictures. However the place was attended by men who did not care about the cleanliness of the place and were rude and uninterested in the customers. We didn't have to provide our passport number at all during our stay which seemed somewhat sketchy. After an argument about us having...

Tasteful decor, amazing view, fabulous swimming pool (with shade!), no hassles. Even good wifi. Wonderful, airy common spaces. The shady balcony upstairs, overlooking the dunes and camels, was our favorite place to hang out, but the lower terrace and poolside are equally good if you're a sun-worshipper.

We arrived at Kanz erremal by night and we were very well received by the staff. The room was big and comfortable, the dinner was delicious. But the greatest surprise occurred in the next morning: an amazing view from the dunes of Merzouga- the Sahara right on the hotel's porch, with camels waiting for walks in the desert. The 4x4...

Kanz Erremal is surely a place you want to stay when visiting the dunes of Merzouga. Really sweet and helpful personal, great rooms and the most stunning view. Pool looks great as well even in January

I didn’t have a hotel room because i went on a camel trek and slept in the camp. The trekking was very very well organised, the camp was really good, comfortable and nice food. No wash room but there were shower blocks at the hotel we could use, but were not that hygienic. No towel or toiletries supplied. Breakfast was...

We stayed here and in the Mohayut in Merzouga and there is no comparison. The Mohayut is delightful but the Kanz Erremal lacks the standards of decoration and service and is quite basic. The location right at the edge of the dunes is wonderful but it's a stretch to call the pool an infinity pool and it wasn't very clean....

we stayed here for 2 nights, one in the hotel and one in the desert. The hotel is fine, its basic but has what you need and its clean. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kanz Erremal is located at the base of the desert dunes, surrounded by the fascinating landscape of Erg Chebbi, in the southeast of Morocco. It is located 36 kilometres from Rissani, a 7-minute drive from the centre of Merzouga (free shuttle between Merzouga-hotel) and only a stone's throw away of the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi. Kanz Erremal has a haimas camp and also organizes a ridding a camel trip in order to spend a night in the desert. Furthermore, it organizes seven-road trips to explore the spectacular places that the landscape offers. The Hotel has the structure of a typical kasbah: it is made of adobe mud and hay. The rooms have a traditional decoration, typical from the region. They have air conditioning, free wifi access, bathroom and great external views, most of them to the dunes. The pool is located in front of the dunes, so swimmers have the impression to swim in the middle of the desert. The hotel offers a good example of traditional Moroccan cuisine based on natural ingredients: hariras (soups), vegetable tagins, chicken, beef, lamb, varied couscous, raw and cooked salads, skewers, Berber pizza... In short, Kanz Erremal is a place of peace and authenticity and a good site in order to discover the spectacular golden sand of the Sahara dunes. ... more   less
