After a brief overnight stop in Casablanca (which was plenty by the way), we travelled to Chefchaouen and stayed at Dar Meziana. Location is great very near to the Médina square. As mentioned in other reviews, it is quite a steep walk up to the road from the street so assistance with the luggage is required. The road itself was charming and welcoming and the staff very friendly. Room was comfortable and one of the highlights was the traditional Moroccan breakfast served in the morning. All fresh and home made produce. Staff were very accommodating and would highly recommend.
This place has such character! We are staying in rm number 11 and it is just as pictured on the website with the green bed. The views are great, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Our king bed is very comfortable with warm cozy covers since the evening was a bit chilly. Alert: do not try to bring your suitcase up to the hotel, call them and they will bring it up for you. Also the city wide chant/song started at 530 am til 6am, then the call to prayer..... The interesting Medina and gorgeous alleys are just outside the hotel. In the evening it’s magical!,,,
A little difficult to find as the bus driver did not know the area and could not get right to the hotel but it is located just off the square with plenty of restaurants available. Very busy in the square at night with music and performers. Take a guided tour to get a feel for Chefchauoen. Hotel has several levels and narrow stairs so you may need the porters to help with big bags which is what we had. Our room was fine and looked out on an alley way but reasonably quite at night.
We really enjoyed this riad. The place is very clean and the staff were excellent. Air conditioner worked well. Close to all main tourist locations. I highly recommend to anyone travelling to Chefchouen.
Usually we insist on 4 or 5 star accommodation. Here we did not know what to expect but we found it a superb place. Clean cute, cosy and the setup is just authentic. It has rich character and i would definately recommend this place. Staff were very warm. Rooms are abit tiny but that makes it fun and part of the experience. The area is peacefull, serene and smells fresh all day long. Breakfast was traditional moroccan with variety. And the rooftop terrace is the most ideal place to kickback and sip on some tea and enjoy the breeze in the evenings. Would stay here again!
