We stayed at Lankayan Island 2 years ago after a round trip trough Borneo. As we had such a good time I would still like to write the review. Lankayan Island Dive Resort is owned by the same people that own Sepilok Nature Resort and Sipadan Kapalai Dive Resort. We stayed both in Sepilok and Lankayan. The boat trip to...

Thoroughly enjoyed my diving experience at Lankayan! To begin with, the island is simply beautiful and charming in its own character. Like the lovely & roomy chalet, good food was served on every meal with nice and warm ambience at the restaurant. Hats off to the diving crew as they were so helpful and friendly (really). As a beginner, the...

The best about Lankayan is Lankayan. The food is average, the rooms are average however the rest is GREAT. We were there for 2 nights and 3 days and we had a fantastic experience. As I understand it, from Aug-Nov is the high season for turtle nesting and hatching. I think we saw at least 5 hatchings and one turtle...

To put this in context, this place is utterly lovely, I mean REALLY lovely, what ever else I say, the overriding facts are that this is heavenly and anyone who moans about it must live an extremely unusual life. The staff were great (Chef found out I was veggie on day1 and asked me what I would like to eat...

What a great place to end our holiday. The scuba diving was out of this world with no other dive centres in the area. So nice not to see other people under water. Even though we were doing three dives per day at no time did we feel rushed. On a lot of diving holidays you leave feeling tired. Here...

Lankayan is the most beautiful island I have ever been to, and I've been to many across Malaysia, the carribbean etc. It's just absolutely perfect! Only 4 ha, it takes less than 10 minutes to walk round the island and thats a major part of the appeal - its remote, its idyllic, the sand is powder soft, white & perfect,...

We were lucky enough to stay here as part of our honeymoon and it was definitely a highlight. The boat picked us up from Sandakan and whisked us across the water taking about 90 minutes to get to the island. As we walked up the jetty across the clear turquoise water toa palm fringed beachwear knew we'd made a great...

We stayed for seven nights between 13th and 19th September 2011, Our transfer to Lankayan left Sandakan harbour around 10:00am, so we stayed the night before in the Swiss Inn Waterfront Hotel nearby (about 5 min drive away) We were met at the harbour by Lankayan Resort staff and...

Lankayan is a beautiful, remote, dream island with warm blue seas, wonderful corals and nothing much to do but dive, snorkel, turtle watch and chill. There are currently only 22 chalets which means visitor numbers are limited (a bonus) and the pace of the place is slow. The island is tiny and it only takes about 15 mins to walk...

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in September and it was the highlight and one of our most favorite part of our 3 wk Borneo trip. Pros -remoteness, clean beaches (many of Sabah beaches are not clean), clear water -polite and friendly staff -professional diving instructors (a special thanks to Michao) -beach frontage (we were in chalet...
