This is a large-scale cooperate hotel, whose building stands tall over the bay of Sandakan. The pool in the official photo is on floor 13, and is a nice addition to the hotel. There's also a small gym which can let you stretch you legs if you've been en route for a while. We used it as a stop over...

This hotel is an absolutely fantastic choice for a stopover in Sandakan. The infinity pool and amentities are really quite excellent, the rooms are huge with some great views, and the service very attentive and professional. I'm dropping down a star simply because in comparison to other places we stayed in Sabah, it did seem ever so slightly soulless, and...

Reception & concierge were great on both occasions we stayed. Buffet breakfast is good and worth paying in advance for the discounted rate. However, overall it doesn't stack up against other Sheraton chains elsewhere. The public spaces are ok, the rooms are a good size, the bathrooms are dirty with black mould and this is a deal breaker for me....

We stayed at the Four Points for one night only as we had booked a 3 day Wildlife Experience over to Turtle Island and out to Sepilok to see the orangutans. Our stay here, while being brief, was lovely, with a lovely clean comfortable room, friendly staff and a great infinity pool. We dined in the hotel dining room (lovely...

We have stayed at a few Four Points by Sheraton now and this one was almost as good as the rest. The staff, rooms, amenities etc are generally of a very high standard. The only issues we experienced were: 1) We drove there and the front driveway is a nightmare as people just dump cars anywhere. They need an extra...

To start with, avoid an overnight stay in Sandakan at all costs - it's really a shabby little town with nothing to do other than the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Sunbear sanctuary. Anyway, since we couldn't avoid it, we stayed at Four Points looking at the excellent reviews, but we were overall unimpressed. Granted, the infinity pool is...

We visited Sandakan in order to visit the Orangutan sanctuary. This hotel is situated at the sea front in prime position, The hotel is very clean and very popular. The staff are very polite and helpful, we stayed in a large double suite on 25th floor, the views were fantastic, we could look down onto the outdoor roof pool. The...

Perfect hotel to stay in Sandakan area since there is virtually nothing to do in Sandakan itself. Food was really good all day long and they make an effort to give you the best service they can. The pool is awesome.
