We stayed here for two nights whilst sorting out a visit to the kinabatangan river. Staff friendly and helpful and price ok. Wifi didn't work at all. Better to stay near seplikok rather than Sandakan as a bit run down but if you need to stay in Sandakan this place is fine.

The hotel is in a decent location in Sandakan and the interior rooms were quiet, but they need to upgrade the rooms and facilities. The wifi barely worked and the shower was a trickle. The staff were kind and helpful.

Despite having a network for every floor, the wifi almost literally didn't work anywhere except the lobby. If I held my phone to the window I could access one network, but that was quite awkward, to say the least. Water pressure was wonky, constantly shifting by the second. Bed and AC were fine, so if that's all you need, you...

After being lied to at another hotel we got a last minute room at Central Hotel, the room was what we paid for, simple furnishings and slightly stained sheets but the mattress was comfy and the shower was hot and in a clean bathroom. The staff showed us where we could refill our water bottles for free and went out...

We stayed here for 3 nights in total, and it was poor/average. The staff were constantly on theirs phones watching movies or playing games etc, and just could not be bothered to do anything. The room was comfy and tidy, it was just very very humid when we first checked in, but after we put the aircon on it was...

Considering this hotel room cost us basically nothing we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is clean, centrally located, quiet and the staff are lovely and helpful. Beds were incredibly comfortable and air conditioning is always a blessing! No complaints from us!

My room was very smelly due to long term high humidity! I had no choice, but went to the reception counter to ask for dehumidifier and air freshener. However, they didn't have any of them. Water pressure was funny, too.

Average rooms. Small and dirty and very old. Located in central sandakan, however there isn't actually anything in sandakan itself. The town is basically full of local Malaysians with zero tourists, making it slightly uncomfortable. If your in Borneo, head to the sepilok forest and stay at one of the resorts there which are a 5 minute walk from the...

Central hotel does live up to its name in terms of location. It is only two streets away from the pier. The room was spacious and very tidy, no outside noise. Friendly staff. There is not much to do in Sandakan itself so keep in mind that you are not likely to spend too much time in the room. There...

“Rooms are clean, secure and fit for purpose. Bathroom has a basic shower facility which is clean and neat. Get a room that faces the main road, you would be able to observe the traffic conditions and get a good view of the shops. Try to get a room on the hogher floor (i.e. 4th floor).”
