We spent 3 nights at Bilit and enjoyed every moment. Our boat driver, Ezrah, was amazing with the way he was able to spot the wildlife including, many varieties of monkeys, a wild orang utan, crocodile, pygmy monkey and so many birds. He is a great asset to this lodge and we loved all of our trips on the river.... More

The boat trips were terrific. We did two - wished I'd done three. The walk to the ox-bow lake was a bit of a slog but worth it. We found the accommodation comfortable and the food good enough (although by our third day there it was getting a bit repetitive.) Our kids (aged 11 & 12) loved the place as... More

Spent 2 nights here on an organised tour. Had an evening cruise and dawn cruise on the river. Saw plenty of longtailed macaques, proboscis monkeys, and even a very large orangutan. Spotted several hornbills as well. The night jungle walk was a bit disappointing. Rooms were very comfortable with a/c and hot water. Food was basic but satisfactory.

We had 3 nights here as part of a tour. Accommodation was basic but seeing we were in the jungle it was better than anticipated. The AC was a bit dodgy during the day but very comfortable to sleep at night. As with other reviews the main attraction in staying here are the am & pm cruises - lots of... More

Spent 3 nights here so worth it. The boat trips out on the river were just amazing, saw heaps of Monkeys & plenty of bird life. Our room was clean & comfortable, staff were friendly. While there you can hire gum boots & leech socks for a small fee, you'll be glade you did when you walk to Ox Bow... More

We booked a 3 day 2 night Kinabatangan tour here, through our hostel in Sandakan. We had a brilliant time. We were collected in a minivan from Sandakan (there happened to be only 3 of us coming from there) and arrived at the lodge about 2 hours later. We took a quick speedboat across to the adventure lodge, which has... More

We stayed at Bilit Lodge for three nights. For two days we were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. The manager by the name of Nelson was absolutely wonderful and so were the rest of the staff. We did three river cruises on the Kinabatangan River and saw so much wildlife it was truely amazing . We did... More

This was probably once a great lodge to stay but it has not been looked after, it is dirty and not cared for. The food is ordinary, the sheets have holes and are too small and mattresses have bedbugs. But most importantly the staff are lazy and don't care. The boat cruises down the river are great. Lots of monkeys... More

Bilit Adventure Lodge (BAL) is a great place to see heaps of animals in the wild. The accommodation is basic and rustic but it's what you expect in a jungle setting. The rooms are clean and quiet, although the bathrooms can take some getting use to. Opt for an air conditioned room as it gets steamy all year round. The... More

We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful location. Jimmy greats you with a booming welcome to the jungle and the staff are friendly and guides exceptional. We have a soft spot for Robert who was exactly as a guide should be - enthusiastic, knowledgable, friendly and kind. We saw all kinds of wildlife on our two river safaris and we're lucky enough...
