To me, Kapalai is in the midst of an identy crisis. It is not quite a luxury resort, not quite a dive resort, and appears to have changed greatly over the years. By and large, this place caters to the mainland Chinese, who wish to snorkel. The food is okay, but almost completely Asian. Not much choice and plenty of...

If you are a scuba diver then you probably already know all about Sipadan Island and the awesome diving. If you don't, google it. What this resort offers on top of the outstanding location is: 1) The slickest dive operation I have seen, organised, good gear, on time, great dive guides (Thanks Leo and Linda) and terrific boat skippers; 2)...

We stayed 3 nights at Kapalai with 1 day diving at Sipadan. Diving at Sipadan was our highlight and the dive center team, particularly Don, was extremely helpful and we felt safe at all times. The resort is beautiful, but we did wonder what other guests do all day if they do not dive as there is no TV in...

We went there for a 5 days 4 nights diving holiday. We new its a great place for diving as one of our family members has been there earlier in the year. Our expectations regarding the diving were fully met. We even took a 3 day Advanced Padi Open Water Diving Course. For an extra 1'000 Ringgit (USD 250) very...

So I will review this dive resort with the one thing needing to be noted...this is a huge haven for Chinese tourists. If you don't enjoy the squawking and loud chatter, then this is not the place for you. Diving - The reason one SHOULD come to Sipadan is for the diving. Although at this resort, only about 5 of...

We did 5 days diving with Kapalai during our Honeymoon. In general it's excellent experience, accommodation was great, food was good. You have turtles and many fish around your accommodation and resort. I would love to go back there but I might choose another resort due to the price. I recommend it to everybody who is looking for Luxury dive...

Great love to this hotel. You have to book it at least 3 months in advance. With this price to have such great experience, you cannot complain anything. It's a great time for you away from the mobile phone, to feel the nature! It have free service to snorkelling and I saw turtle everyday just beside our balcony! The food...

This tranquil hide-away from the city hustle and bustle, is no longer quiet and peaceful. The resort ran at full capacity when we were there - guests were dashing for plates and food, service staff were short with us as I suspected they were not treated well by us, children were running amok in the dining hall and were littering...
