French owned and beautifully located on a calm, crescent bay with little passing foot traffic this is an ideal place to unwind. Take a front row beach bungalow and you 're sorted - the sea is no more than 20 paces away, the water temperature is pleasant, you won't be crowded-out and there's no TV in the bungalow, but there...

We spent Easter weekend in the Hotel de la Plage. It was just perfect, the bungalow was nice, clean, functional, there is hot water, mosquito net, a fan, a little desk, a cupboard. Two nice sunbeds on our veranda/terrace to admire the Mozambique Channel. The food was always good, the owners very friendly and the staff is really professional. We...

We very much enjoyed our extra 3 nights at Ifaty, tagged on to the end of a group cycling tour (the rest of our group stayed 2 nights). The hotel is definitely the quiet idilic place mentioned in other reviews. The staff were genuinely nice to us and it felt very relaxed. The guided walk to the fishing village was particularly...

overall the hotel is in a beautiful location and is a stunning place to stay. the beach was literally outside our doorstep to the extent that at high tide the waves were hitting our veranda. the breeze was welcome in the heat and the staff do their best to be as helpful as possible with their limited English. the wifi...

I think this was our favorite hotel on the trip. We’d been warned that the road up to Ifaty would be awful, but it turned out that there was a brand new road, so our driver just drove us up in our ordinary car, and we had plenty of time to enjoy the Arboretum in Tulear. We really enjoyed the...

The hotel is really nice! like all other descriptions almost like a paradise. But to explain something new, the hotel is extremly expensive (for Madagascar and Backpackers). The price of the rooms are not the problem, the problem is the food. The Breakfast is 3 times more expensive than other very good hotels which we have been (in Madagascar). And...

I arrived here in the mid afternoon around 1:30-2pm and had to leave very early around 6.30am the next morning, which was unfortunate because it was beautiful here. Almost all of the bungalows are right on the beach, some are slightly further back. In the night you can hear the water lapping against the beach. In the room I had...

Just returned from a 2 weeks stay in November. We were greeted by the very professional receptionist Hanz, who made us very welcome, took us to our bungalow and spent some time with us explaining what there was to know about the area and the hotel. Our bungalow was right on the beach, 15 metres from the sea. The accommodation...

Who can imaging, "blue sea, palmtrees, white fine sand, a house on the beach, beautiful weather and a very good restaurant (every day it was a surprise what we had for dinner, but we're never disappointed!!)". La Plage has it all!! And if you want to do any activities around Ifaty, Yannick from Hotel de la Plage is the man...

Nice bungalows very close to the ocean and next to the beach. Clean and comfortable beds. Bungalows are a long walk from the parking lot so you have to use porter if you have heavy bags. Food at restaurant is not bad but a bit slow. No internet. The road to get to this hotel is in bad condition so...
