Certificate of Excellence
Located in the heart of the private Taita Hills Sanctuary, bordering Tsavo West National Park in south-eastern Kenya, Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge is a truly unique concept consisting of 96 rooms elevated on stilts, each overlooking a waterhole and linked by suspended walkways. At night, the waterholes are floodlit ensuring that you enjoy an uninterrupted view of the numerous animals arriving to quench their thirst. The elevated restaurant, and the bar a level higher, also offer stunning views of the sanctuary and are the ideal vantage points to view game. The lodge has its own fleet of well-equipped safari vehicles with excellent guides. The climate is very moderate with temperatures averaging between 18 and 30 degrees Celsius all year round. There are sporadic rains in March, April, November and December. Due to the unique layout of the lodge, it is not suitable for children below 8 years. Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge is 400 km from Nairobi and 200 km from Mombasa. The lodge is a one-hour flight from Nairobi or 30 minutes from Mombasa by private charter which lands at the Lodge's own airstrip. The Sanctuary is a 3-hour drive from Mombasa and a 6-hour drive from Nairobi on tarmac roads. So, if you intend to make the most out of your African safari holidays, Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge is the right place to be. No matter if you plan to head-over to Nairobi or Mombasa, the Lodge turns out to be a perfect check-in option.

Seeing between 5 and 10 different animal species at once collecting around the waterhole was magical, yes absolutely amazing. Being able to study the animals without disturbing, learning a little about their behavior in between and among others was an experience.

We stayed there for only one night, but it was fantastic. If you wanted to see Elephants, Zebras, Baboons, Waterbucks and lot of other animals just several steps in front of you, this place is the right place. Nice rooms above the animals, very tasty and various food, friendly

Amazing place! Upon arrival there were more than twenty (20) elephant as well as buffalo, zebra, impala, and lots of other animals there to greet us. The rooms were very comfortable, the food was great, and the park itself as well as the lodge are both breathtakingly stunning.

Travelled to Salt Lick lodge on a combined trip with the Sarova Taita Hills Lodge. Major difference is that you probably would not need to do a game drive once you stay at the lodge as it serves as a watering hole for the sanctuary. Saw all animals save for lions, cheetah and

Hi, Visited here recently the resort is over 3 levels with reception on ground, rooms and restaurant on the 1st floor and bar on top floor. I believe there was a lift but the stairs are not many The rooms are almost on a gang way from the 1st floor and only 10 steps up if on a higher room. To get to the lodge you have to drive up a lot and the entrance is high already so not as many stairs as would think. If you can get up stairs at home you will be fine here going to room !

We travelled in early September. Shorts and t-shirts were fine along with a light jacket.
