#14 of 370 Speciality lodging in Wadi Rum
Travellers' Choice
Arabian Nights has been established in a quiet and serene valley within the Wadi Rum Protected Area. The location has a feeling of relative isolation both day and night and it provides for a very relaxing setting. The camp has been designed with a comfortable layout so that each tent has a unique experience, unaffected by the surrounding camp infrastructure but also offers a communal environment when the camp family gathers for meals, entertainment and socialising. There is a large communal tent which is synonymous with Bedouin culture where individuals can come together to drink tea, eat meals, share stories and interact. In addition there are individual tents with amazing unobstructed views of the surrounding valley. The camp is run and inhabited by Bedouins who are descended from the region for many generations and are born and raised in the surrounding desert. You will have the opportunity to learn from their intimate knowledge of the land and gain exposure to the local culture.

This review is long overdue! We had a fantastic time staying at Arabian Nights. We visited in June - the weather was perfect - warm, but not too hot that it felt impossible to do anything. We spent a whole day with Omar who drove us around the desert and showed us all of the highlights. By the end of the day it felt like we had known him for years. Shakar, the owner was also very hospitable and friendly. Food was delicious, bed was very comfortable... the place is truly wonderful, my husband and I think about it a lot! Highly recommend!

We spent a lot of time pondering where to stay in Wadi Rum and are so pleased we chose to stay with Shaker and his team. The location is perfect, with a couple of other camps in distant sight, but nothing close by. Our tent was well thought out and equipped, with comfortable bed, lovely furnishings and an amazing view. And the communal tent was both beautiful to look at and a really welcoming place to chat with fellow tourists and the Arabian Nights team. Badr kept us fed with delicious food, Sabbah took us on a trip and talked with us about his life, and the Short Man got up and was smiling at 4.30am to take us to our balloon trip. Making all of this happen was Shaker, who works very hard to make sure everyone has a good time. Sadly, the stars were hiding behind clouds when we were there......but we hardly noticed as everything else was just perfect.

We have chosen Arabian nights camp due to its remoteness, nice traditional decoration and off course positive reviews all over the net. Although it was not showing any available room on booking.com yet (we booked the same day we should arrive), we called Shaker (the owner) and he arranged everything. We have arrived to spend just one night, but extended our stay for 2 nights and if we had more time, we would stay even longer! The place is just magical, as well as the whole desert. The tents are clean, comfortable. If you can afford to spend little bit more, go for a luxury tent with an awesome view, sitting terrace and en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is fulling (bread, eggs, hummus, vegetable, spread cheese...), lunch we had on a tour (very good home-made cooked meal and all the necessary sides) and dinner was delicious (traditional ground-cooked meat and vegetables + all the sides and salads). Shakar and his guys are really nice and welcoming, making sure you enjoy every minute of your trip. If you read this, you already do not have to search for other options - just come here and be sure you enjoy :-)

Thanks for sharing such detailed review of your experience. We dont have the option to book automatically for same day reservations as there are additional logistics with collecting guests and ensuring water and food is in the camp but if you contact us directly and we have availability and can manage it we are always happy to host you.

The camp is quite and basic without the unnecessary luxury which destroys the authentic experience. I visits shaker and Momo at least one time a year and it feels always like coming back home. This time I did a trip with my friends and we enjoyed the stay so much - we did a wonderful tour with Waleed including lunch on the desert and beautiful sunset. The food is amazing in the camp and all stuff members are just really friendly. You really can feel how important it is for them to make your stay comfortable. They even ask me to talk to other female tourist and ask them how they feel and if they can do better to make them feel save. I thought it’s soooo cute and caring. Love these guys and highly recommend to stay there.

We have a typical dinner and breakfast with beduins and had a night in a tent with an amazing view of the stars. I saw one of the most beautiful sunrise of my life from our room. The staff and the other guests was so nice and kind. It's an experience that i strongly reccomend!!!

We made sure all our rooms have a view as we understand that is one of the main reasons people come and stay in the protected area.
