Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had an early flight to catch on 1 January 2019. Booked a morning call and breakfast boxes for 2. Informed reception staffs 3 times, a day before. First there was no morning call, secondly when I came to the desk, my bfast boxes weren't there. Instead of helping to get it prepares, the receptionist open the log book and asked who did I book to. So unprofessional!

This hotel offers a great view to the city. It is located at a very strategic spot in the city. However, you will still need to get a car to get to different places. The rooms are quite spacious even with an extra bed. The breakfast buffet provides a good array of food with some local delicacies to taste too.

Palangkaraya, the capital of central Kalimantan province, is back in the spotlight in recent months. The issue of new capital government centre to replace the ever crowded Jakarta has been brought forward, and since Palangkaraya was once mentioned by the first President Soekarno as a suitable capital of the country, the city is mentioned as a suitable candidate. But the purpose of my trip was nothing to do with this issue. i come to Palangkaraya to experience the beautiful nature of central Kalimantan. Certainly there is plenty to do and see. Hotel Aquarius where I was staying was a good place to start the adventure. It's centrally located, spacious room, comfortable lobby, and good choice of breakfast menu. One place worth visiting is the Sebangun National Park. Luckily, the Hotel Aquarius is supporting the conservation work of the Sebangun NP, so hotel guests may watch a short video about the NP. The NP has several access points, one of them is just within minutes from the Hotel through the river of Sebangun. It takes about an hour by boat to get to the perimeter of the N, and visitors can experience the lowland rain forests and if lucky also their primate inhabitants, namely orangutan, bekantan and others. When in Palangkaraya, spare some time to visit the orangutan conservation facility of Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation at Nyaru Menteng, some 30 minutes drive. Here, visitors can learnt about the life of orangutan and the threats they are facing to survive in the degraded rainforest of Borneo.

The hotel is correct, western style with staff trying to speak English. One of best options to stay for one day in Palangkaraya. Restaurant with Indonesian and western food quite acceptable. Nice pool to relax after day walking. We could not have a massage as it was difficult to understand with the staff.

We stayed here on 13th March 2017. Aquarius used to be the hotel we stayed before the existence of the other star hotel. Not bad as a boutique hotel with clean room and other facilities such as swimming pool, health and fitness center, cafe, lobby lounge and a Music Club. We returned to Aquarius as the normal hotel we stayed was fully booked. This time the hotel accommodated our request to put us at the 9th floor at the corner of the floor. For light sleepers, try avoid the center portion else you will be counting the beats of the music traveling up to even the sixth floor soon after 10 pm. This was the reason light sleeper like me could not fit in. Otherwise, Aquqrius is located in town and the checking staffs are friendly. Breakfast has choices of local and continental food and fried eggs corner.....cheers.

Stay after visited the night club. Room noise from night club. Bed room quite spacious but the bathroom small. No safety box in the bed room. Had a nasi goreng for room service, taste was average. Not value for money.
