A very beautiful site would be an understatement for the magical place of Tam coc.
The good location, the cleanliness of the premises, the kindness of the staff (very young), the landscape offered, the surface area and the interior design is more than satisfactory.
A downside however, and it's really a shame, regarding the average quality of the dishes offered on the menu (50% more expensive than the restaurants in the immediate surroundings), we are far from a desire to offer quality compared to the benefit. This lacks finesse and quality in the design of certain dishes (especially the cooking of meat).
To be improved urgently, this is an essential area of improvement to correlate everything.
The swimming pool is a real pleasure to relax in after the wonderful excursions.

During my recent trip, I had the opportunity to stay at a hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff who provided exceptional service throughout my stay. They were attentive, courteous, and always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests I had.

The rooms at the hotel were surprisingly well-maintained and clean. The housekeeping team did an outstanding job of ensuring that every corner was spotless, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I was able to enjoy a restful night's sleep and wake up feeling refreshed each morning.

The hotel's location was also quite convenient, with easy access to public transportation and nearby attractions. I found it incredibly convenient to explore the city and visit popular landmarks without

A very nice welcome, made even special by our names appearing on a large TV screen in reception, large room with a view over the hotel pool and large firm bed. This hotel has multi national power sockets, I.e takes British, European and Australian appliance plugs, and probably others. The bathroom had a nice powerful ‘rain’ shower, but it splashed water onto the bath surrounds, which ran around the bath, onto the floor. This made the floor very slippery, and quickly soaked the bath mat.

Upon arrival, we asked for an ironing board which was quickly provided.

Something to be aware of, the prices on the menu and drinks card are not what you pay, they are subject to VAT and a 5% service charge, it does say this in very small print at the bottom of the page, but this was the only place I came across in Vietnam that adopted this practice.

The bar happy hour does not apply to alcoholic drinks, the very helpful welcome person did point this out, but, again, the only place I came across in Vietnam that adopted this practice. I’d say that this was counter productive, as a couple of groups of people declined to visit the bar, once they were aware of the practice.

Now to East German connection, we were welcomed to the restaurant and shown to a table, a waitress provided us withs the menu, a different waitress, took the order. A returning waitress brought the wine, served it up, then a different waitress brought the Ice bucket. The delivery of the bread rolls was just as personnel heavy, one of the waitresses gestured to a colleague that we didn’t have any bread rolls, a lady who until this time I’d not seen, placed them in a warmer, once warm handed them to a third waitress, who brought them to the table. During the meal the obligatory “how’s the meal” question was asked by the very helpful chap who welcomed us, and told us that the happy hour didn’t include alcoholic drinks. Buying goods in East Berlin only required four people

Very nice welcome surprise at Tam Coc! We came as part of a package with Lily’s Travel and this a lovely treat we didn’t expect. The staff are absolutely fantastic. They knew we didn’t eat meat so the excellent chef cooked us dinner specifically for us. Tran Tri the supervisor made us feel so special and welcome, assisted by her other colleagues especially Trini the frainee in restaurant. The welcome starts from the doorman to the lady in reception who are so friendly and kind. The room was stunning and very clean uptodate and perfect for british travellers. The swimming pool was stunning and changing rooms so clean
The power ports for british people were also very nice gesture
Hotel has quite a few spa places nearby for £10 / £12 and we loved our body massage.

Suggestion is to have another step into swimming pool for those with mobility problems as metal stairs were too low / high and steps too low down.
British people like tea with milk so in bedroom some long life or condensed milk would be appreciated

In a sentence: We loved this hotel!

It is ideally located to explore the Ninh Binh region including Ninh Binh city but, more importantly, its location in Tam Coc makes it so accessible to sites such as the Hang Mua (Mua Cave); the Tam Coc river tour; bicycling; motor scooters; and it has many other interesting sites such as the Ancient Capitol, Hoa Lu.

The hotel itself is located just before the town centre and this makes it easy to explore the area while being close to major transportation including taxis, buses, vans, etc. It is also close to many travel agencies but the hotel also has quite a good tour service itselve.

Service is key at this hotel. We got to know the staff really well (we were here for 5 nights) but from the beginning the staff were sure to meet our needs. We had requested several items prior to arriving and the desk staff had made sure everything was done and ensured we were informed as were checking in that everything was in order. Indeed, we got to know the staff so well that they gave us a parting gift of a box of Lipton teabags because they knew we really enjoy our black tea and, in Vietnam, we really enjoy Lipton tea.

The outdoor pool and the surrounding gardens of the hotel are an oasis. You can relax while having a nice drink at reasonable prices. We chose the half/board option and are glad we did. The restaurant food was a very good mix of Vietnamese/Asisan/and Western cuisines and the staff were always very attentive. We got to know quite few of them (as noted above) and they were great in providing tips as to what to see and do while in the region. Their suggestions made a great difference in avoiding the tourist traps and getting to see more of the authentic Vietnam although, of course, we did do some of the touristy things and enjoyed them very much. Mua Cave and the Ancient capitol are fantastic (you do not have to use the free parking in Hoa Lu. You can ride your bikes inside the temple/compound area.

The room we had was on the poolside so we had a great view of the fields and could even see the city of Ninh Binh in the distance. It was quite a good size; well furnished; many electrical outlets (so important for those of us travelling with multiple electronic items); comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping.

Bottom line: We cannot say enough good about this hotel and the staff. If we come back to this area we will definitely stay in the Hidden Charm hotel.

A special thanks to Vang Anh, Harry, Ivy, Lynn, Vivian, Minh, Hahn, Nghia, and all the staff at the Hidden Charm Hotel. Cảm ơn!!

I have attached some photos to this review to highlight some key aspects of the hotel and the area and, most importantly, there is a picture of some of the staff (there are so many more not represented) that were so helpful and attentive during our stay.

To be honest, the equipment is pretty good! The anti-splash glass in the bathtub is in the way, so I might consider removing it. I have to climb into the bathtub just to wash my hair, which is very inconvenient. But here comes the point! The lobby manager, counter, bellman, restaurant waiter, cooking staff, and door security personnel are all touching. Their service is proactive, like friends and family. They travel alone all over the world. This hotel The feeling is so different and the warmth is not enough to describe it. It is simply a world heritage and should be listed as a first-level protected animal. The boss should ask for a salary increase! For these lovely people, I must come again, and the boss must help me retain them!

We had an enjoyable stay with lovely people and excellent service. While the hotel is a bit dated, it is very clean and well-maintained.

The location was good for our journey—convenient and within easy walking distance to the town. The rooms were quiet, with good shower pressure and all the essentials as expected.

A note for future guests: If dining in, consider requesting the Vietnamese menu, as the European set menu for lunch and dinner was just average.

Overall, the excellent service (especially Annie being attentive and helpful with travel tip) and convenient location made this a pleasant stay!

The service was good. There is a difference between the standard room and executive room. The exec room has a much better washroom and worth the small additional cost. The guest service person, Jessica, was outstanding and very attentive. She always took an extra step to help and say hello. The hotel is close to the town but not right in the busy area. It’s a nice property. Lots of pretty lanterns and a lookout to the fields.

We stopped by at this small town Ninh Binh while coming back from Ha long to Hanoi! It's a cozy little town that offers a couple of very interesting activities.

The hotel is conviniently located just at the beginning of the market that makes the market and a number of good restaurants at a walking distance!

We were there during the Vietnamese and Chinese new year so the decoration in and around the was quite instagramable!

The rooms are comfortable and especially since we went during winters the rooms were nice and cozy! Heated and carpeted.

Unfortunately there are certain issues that you would face, language is a major barrier, when you pay a premium for the hotel you expect the staff to converse and understand basic language but that wasn't the case here!

The breakfast is not even close to what you pay for the room, we got stale bread and stale muffins and stale croissants! There are hardly any vegetarian options

The hotel has a strange policy of charging for extra child for more than one kid in the room! My kids are 5 and 1 year and we didn't even order for an extra bed but ended up paying for the extra child... That's something I have not experienced anywhere in any of my travels so far!

All up, it's a overpriced hotel for what they end up offering at that price point!

Once you get to the Hotel they will suggest places for you to visit and will arrange a taxi to take you there. We really enjoyed the Bich Dong Pagoda and also the Hang Mua caves - 500 steps up to the top. Both these are reasonably close to the hotel. You could walk easily to Tam Coc boat tours from the hotel. Its only about a 10 minute walkl. We did both of the boat tours while we were there and much preferred Trang An boat tours. Enjoy your trip.

We were there early December 2018 and had no problems with mosquitos in the hotel or in the nearby parks. However, in South East Asia it’s always advisable to take a reliable replant. The hotel did not provide mosquito nets as there was n need. The rooms are airconned and windows seal well.
