We went there with a booked Tour but would certainly never go back to this hotel. Everything still seems like french of 50 years ago and never changed, same curtains and sheets and decorations, all outdated and not well kept. Bed was super hard.We had a very big old tv in the room, WiFi was terrible, shower leaking through the whole bathroom so after showering stays wet feet when you need to use toilet or sink. The restaurant was not inviting. Breakfast was ok but coffee very bad.

We arrived in a rain storm without a booking! Great to get a big clean room.
They gave us helpful advise for meals. We arranged for scooters and guides for grottos, pagoda and caves. We did get a basic cooked breakfast which was more than adequate considering the receptionist was also the cook. He arranged our night train to Dong Hoi and let us return to the hotel for showers after we had checked out. Very helpful polite staff.

Upon our groups evening arrival, there was a big welcome sign above the entrance, which was nice. We were greeted in the lobby with welcome drinks.

The room was very spacious, with tile floors, remote control room temperature seatings, tv, mini-fridge, in-room safe, coffee/tea maker, shower slippers, work desk, two wooden chairs & table, hygiene articles, storage closet. The room was dimly light even with ceiling light & lamps. The beds were very, very hard. Free unsecured WiFi also offered by hotel. There was no daily fruit in room as stated inthe hotel brochure. There was good room security with in-room safe, door pep-hole and a safety latch.

There were no hair dryers in room and you had to request or pick one up from the front desk. The room has a bath and shower.

The restaurant seating was mostly round tables with wicker chairs and the rear wall of the restaurant has an open ceiling. Breakfast buffet 06.30-9. Breakfast consisted of breads/pastries, sliced fruits, jogurt, juices, sausage chips, eggs, fried noodles/rice, soup, steamed veggies. No cheese products. There was only one hot skillet for eggs and the cook was only making fried eggs, no omelettes. The breakfast was okay, but not that special.

There is a rooftop bar/seating area on the sixth floor which offers a nice view of the neighborhood. No one was using the rooftop bar/restaurant on my first visit, then later a few people were there ordering drinks, but staff had to go downstairs to get beverages from the main floor bar.

The reception staff tended to be very short when answering questions. I did not think they were very friendly. I stopped by the desk at least twice in the evening and I noticed them playing games on the computer both times. I also inquired about the old and new wings of the hotel as noted in other reviews and the person at the desk stated there is no old or new wing and that the rooms/wings are all the same.

I few items I would suggest to improve the customer experience would be to upgrade and retraining of the front desk evening/night personel. The front desk morning staff seemed more courteous even with the hectic group checkouts. Hair dryers should be in all guest rooms. There is a lot of marketing in the room and lobby references their sister property (The Legend Hotel) which there is a free shuttle between the two, but all services and facilities at the ‘Legend’ comes with a fee.

Our group stayed at Thuy Anh hotel after long day of biking. We all know this hotel is old and being like a family hotel. The rooms are good, BF is nice and there is pretty noisy but staff are wonderful. I love your way to treat us - Mr. Soan (I hope it's your correct name:) - it's like a 4-5 star service. I will back to Thuy Anh next time we are in Ninh Binh. Love you all and highly recommend to our friends.

Location of hotel is satifactory. The beds are very hard. Most dissatisactory is the fan in the wall of the bathroom which cannot be turned off. The airco is too powerful, so in order to have a cool night the big fan on the wall we switched on. So hardly any sleep. The curtains do not really blind, so as from 5:30 you are awake. It is a cheap hotel and very clean. Bathroom is ok. If you can easily fall asleep anywhere, I can recommend it. Otherwise not.

Stayed there for an overnight as I did not want to spend time to go from & back to Hanoi between two visit tours in Ninh Binh area. The hotel room was clean & comfortable, decoration & TV set is old style.

Great situation for visiting all what offers Ninh Binh. Close to the market and the "shopping area". The hotel is average, but the price of the excursions are really interesting. The guy in the reception was also the one who made the trekking with us through the national park. It was fantastinc. Thanks to him for that great time.

Nothing really special, staff seems uninterested. Reception guy is watching movies behind his desk, not looking up when I want to ask something. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom contains a bath. This morning cleaning ladies kept knocking on the door continuoisly, asking to clean while we were there.. We had not even used anything but the bed, so we told them it was not necessary. A minute later they started knocking again, to give us new towels and toilet paper. We did not needed it, but just accepted it to get rid of them. Breakfast was fine, they can bake you a egg and there were also noodles and Vietnamese cakes. Also some fruit. Our airco was not working at first, but then someone took a look at it and now it works. Downside is that we cannot turn it off or adjust the temperature. Also TV does not work. Most channels are not watchable. There is wifi on the room, but it does not work well. Bit annoying. Overall fine, but really nothing special.

We stayed one night. The room was clean but the TV had no international channels. Room was about 20 sqrm (superior). The hotel allowed us to take a shower after our daytrip before we went to the nighttrain.
The roof top bar was closed, in the restaurant we had to grap the menues by our own. They seem to have fried eggs in the morning but probably 7:30 (!!) was too late nobody was around to make - noodles had been cold.

A group I was with ate dinner at this hotel restaurant with a set menu and I do not recommend going to the restaurant at this hotel because:
- the drinks were trashy, they weren't flavoursome. The tropical punch mocktail tasted too watery.
- they ran out of pineapple, and didn't have any for breakfast either.
- nearly everything on the menu was spelled wrong. example; "mongo", "tuorism"
- the meals were flavorless, dry and trash.
- in the tomato and cucumber salad, they threw chunks of raw garlic on top of already bitter cucumber and old tomatoes.
- the meat was either dry or old
- the chicken didn't have any flavoring at all, it was just served plain
- the meat had bits of cartilage and bone on it.
- the rice had large splinters in it.
- the fish was basically gel, not a solid.
- the food was served in a weird order, the rice was originally last on the set menu which we had to ask for to receive earlier.

Overall the food was bad and that's why I'm giving it two stars.

For the rooms:
- good sized rooms, very spacious.
- the beds were hard.
- as soon as the tv was turned on, it screamed at you in high pitched noise and the picture was really bad.
- the rooms weren't consistent
- see through doors to the bathroom
