Easy check-in. Beautiful rooms made out of bamboo. Incredible plants on the way to the rooms, feels like a little botanical garden. The hosts are all super nice and very helpful. The first day we were given an A4 sheet with super useful information (map, restaurants, phrases). The location is a 10 minute ride from tam coc. Motorbikes and bicycles can be rent out for little money.

Great place to stay off the beaten track. Great service from a very friendly family. Mr. Duy Ninh patiently attended to my requests. The hotel is beautifully secluded right next to one of the stone formations with a view of lotus ponds and rice paddies. Motorbike and bicycle rent is available on site. The food at the restaurant is well priced and delicious.

I loved this place! It was low season so had the whole complex to myself except for one other family. It was lush. The owners could not speak much English but were lovely helpful people. The location was wonderful, a couple of miles from Trang An. Grab a bike and explore the countryside.

We really have no idea how these positive reviews came to be.

Yes, the location is beautiful (since being in Ninh Binh), the room is OK (not clean, tho) but we found the hosts to be amongst the least friendly Vietnamese we’ve met in the one month we spent here.

But more importantly, the breakfast included is a complete joke (you can also opt for a singular egg drenched in oil that was used to prepare other meals). Please see attached. Not included picture a minuscule amount of fruit.

There has to be better accomodation in this beautiful city.

WOW loved this homestay. We were a bit skeptical after a homestay in sapa with cockroaches in the bathroom... what a pleasant surprise this was. Its like a fancy homestay. Air conditioned room with mini fridge and nice clean bathroom with super hot shower. Food is delicious at the restaurant. Location is gorgeous as well, beautiful view and right near the mua cave viewpoint. Staff were very helpful when my motorbike broke down (came to get me and gave me a new bike) and also with booking our bus to Hoi An. 100% recommend!!!!!

We stayed in one of the waterfront bungalows, the room was lovely and clean and had very comfortable beds. The food was okay, lacked diversity and the staff often forgot items and gave poor service even though they pushed eating there. The location was great though, amazing mountain views with lots of goats to watch. They also offer scooter hire and free bikes though the scooters were pretty dodgy and it seemed like a hassle to find one that had mirrors. Overall the big rooms were really good value

Nice place in the country, easy bike ride to Trang An. We hired a scooter which is an awesome way to see the country side as it’s so picturesque here. The food was the best we have tried in Ninh Binh and some of the best our whole trip, staff super helpful would highly recommend this place.

To get to this homestay is not very easy as it involves small, bumpy roads and it's pretty deep inside. We came during cold season [not a good idea but a lot less tourist :)]

We arrived at night, had steamboat at the restaurant. It was pretty good, ingredients plenty but not cheap. The room looks like in the pictures, there's heater in the room but does not help much with the cold. The bathroom is big but you need to take a quick 3 minute shower before the hot water runs out and after that you won't be able to get it back on (takes a really long time to reheat). The blanket is a little towards thin side so it didn't really keep us warm.

As for the bed, everytime you move towards the end of the bed, the top side of the bed will flip up. Something wrong with the plate I suppose? It's makes a noisy creaking sound when you move. Also can hear your neighbors talking, not exact conversation but you can hear, the walls are rather thin.

The mountain view, it's not really a spectacular view but it's a plus. We rented a motorbike to go exploring VND120,000/day, before we head out the owner gave us a map and recommend a few things that we should do.

On the second day, we rode the bike almost to the main road then the engine died. We tried starting it many times but it refuse to, we had to push it back all the way to the homestay. They tried it a few times and gave us another bike. The owner asked if it's too cold and if we needed another blanket, I said yes immediately.

The owner told us that I booked the room wrongly only for one person. I realized my mistake I wrote to Agoda to ask if they could do it complimentary for this time and that my next hotel booking i did correctly for 2 person so Ham Rong was clearly a mistake. You know sometimes when you select the correct pax then you click back and you didn't realize that the setting went back to one pax. The owner said he can only give one night complimentary because it was his staff mistake for not checking properly and allowed me to check in on the first night.
I'm fine with that but the way the owner speak to you it's like he's helpful but in an arrogant sort of way.

We got a Grab on our last day to take us to the train station.

Overall it was a decent stay but they can definitely improve on the water heater and bed. As for the staff playing their mobile phones, yes I observe that as well but they are not so into it that they ignored us, we got service from them.

We chose this homestay to spend our time in Ninh Bình. The owner was really nice and the rooms were extremely nice and comfortable. The included breakfast was great and also the food at night was very nice and cheap to buy. The homestay offers tours to the nearby sights and also bikes and motos to rent. Tranh An and Hoa Lu as well as Tam Cox are easily reachable with a bike. Only the Bai Dinh pagoda would require a motorbike or a car.
