The perfect place to stay to appreciate the tranquillity of the idyllic landscape around Ninh Binh. The setting is wonderful and the main attractions (Trang An / Mua Cave) are a short bike ride away - you can use complimentary bicycles or mopeds at the homestay. Staff are attentive, friendly and helpful.
We were allocated rooms 1 and 2 which overlooked the lotus pond and fields beyond. They were large and really comfortable with a balcony to relax on in the evening sun. We even had a family of monkeys hanging around the trees at the back of the lodges. You have the option of eating delicious home-made food from a wide menu and the value is just amazing - 2 rooms for 2 nights, 3 evening meals and 1 lunch for 4 of us, all for less than £200 equivalent.
Truly the highlight of our Vietnamese adventure. I can't recommend Lotus Field homestay highly enough.

We loved this place, the room and its outlook, the staff, and oh my days the food was great. We rented one of the hotel's scooters for a couple of days, just £4 a day, and explored so much of the area that it would be hard to imagine having such a good time in Ninh Binh without this. Glad we came and stayed 3 nights here. So peaceful and beautiful. Our driver was terrible and dropped us off about a 20-25 minute walk to our homestay. Our wonderful host came to the rescue on their motorbike and brought us one by one with our luggage to our oasis. There were 6 of us! From then on, I knew we picked the right place to stay. It's family run and Duy and Chi (sp) were so fun and lively to talk to. It was just outside of the city and the town was within walking distance or you could ride bicyles (free of charge) where there were restaurants and we even found a nice massage place at Mai Spa. All the activities we wanted to do were close and our host arranged our activities for us and even got us a taxi to take us to the night market in the city. The food was home cooked and delicious. This is the perfect place to stay to unwind and enjoy beautiful Ninh Binh.

We had three nights at Lotus Field Homestay and loved every minute of it.! It all starts with the warmth and kindness of the family that runs the place. Mr. Anh is doing a great job in making sure You have all You need and gives You good advice and to make Your stay perfect. The cabins are spacious and equipped with a warmer, fan, electric kettle, hairdryer, minibar and a nice bathroom. The beds are big and comfy (a bit hard which we prefer) with a mosquitonet surrounding it. We didn`t experience any bugs, mosquitoes etc in the cabin, but maybe we got lucky. One night it was rather humid outside and a bit inside, but the warmer took care of it easily. They arrange a dinner for the quests every night at 7o`clock for a fair price containing fried/steamed rice with 7-8 different dishes to share. The food was delicious and the selection of dishes as well. We stayed in room 04 which had a great undisturbed view of the amazing nature. You are in walking distance to Mua Cave Viewpoint (around 3k), and You can easily reach the other sights and temples by bike/motorbike within 20-30 mins.
We can highly recommend Lotus Field Homestay.!!

Incredible location, we were mesmerised with the surrounds, and how beautiful the property was designed. Immersed in a fantastic setting and the property blends in perfectly, with all the comforts. It feels completely isolated, yet easy to get to nearby attractions in Ninh Binh via motorbike or bicycles available for rent on site. Just the local taxi drivers seemed to have trouble with directions. Access road is quite rough and narrow in some spots, but no problems for any type of vehicle or walking. Owners were the most cheerful, kind and wonderful people.

We absolutely adored this homestay and would have happily stayed here for more then our 2 nights we booked. The location was gorgeous and we had probably one of the most beautiful sunrises of my life. The rooms were cute & quaint - we were even able to get in-room massages! The family was so kind, very attentive and made amazing food! They went out of our way to ensure our stay was incredible. Highly recommend.

Stay away from this place. The cottages were cold, dirty, not welcoming and outrageously expensive (paid 210 US dollars for 3 nights here) for what they were (we went around in the nearby village and all the much better accommodations costed 25 USD per night). We froze and got sick here. There was not enough hot water for shower, the breakfast was just bread and expired jam. The cottages are built on stagnant water (beware of mosquitos here), the toilet drains directly into the water beyond the cottage and it smells (we spotted two dead fishes in the water and they remained there rotting for all our stay, there are rats running on the roof all night. Internet almost never worked, the hammock and chair on the wooden patio were broken. We came with the best intentions and felt taken advantage all the time and robbed. An experience to forget.

The houses are exactly as you see in the pictures. Nothing too fancy, but with all the basic commodities you need: good bed, hot shower and good food. Mr Han is very welcoming and takes care of everything in Lotus Field Homestay to make you feel at home. He organised a dinner for all guests, with typical vietnamese delicious food, with vegan options for those who wanted it. It was great to meet other guests. The breakfast was very nice and the view and silence you enjoy while having it is just invigorating. We stayed only for one night, but we liked it very much.
