An’s Eco Garden is situated amidst the rice paddies and nature, where the sound of goats calling from the mountains is more common than the noise of an occasional motorbike passing by. So if you are in for a quiet and relaxing stay than look no further. We were amazed by setting of this small eco resort, situated at the foot of a mountain, overlooking a lake and surrounded by beautiful nature.

We stayed for two nights in a bamboo bungalow with lake view. The bungalow was spacious and nicely decorated with bamboo furniture, wooden floor and enough storage room for clothing. The bungalow was equipped with air conditioning and a fan and ‘sealed of’ with windows and a door (so no bugs coming in, expect for mosquitos). The adjacent bathroom had a good shower with nice hot water (note that the boiler needs 15 minutes to heat). Only things missing were lamps on the nightstands for reading as there was one main switch for the lights, illuminating the whole room and a mosquito net above the bed.

The bungalow was exceptionally clean but there was a faint strange smell (perhaps insecticide/cleaning product?) that was most apparent upon entering. In line with the cleanliness of the bungalow, the property was very well maintained and the staff was super friendly and helpful (special thanks to receptionist Liam who made our stay very enjoyable).

As the resort is a little far from eateries, in-house dinning is recommended. The restaurant offers a wide choice of Vietnamese dishes at reasonable prices (5 to 10 USD per person) but don’t expect any culinary delights. For breakfast there was à la carte choice from the menu (bread with butter and jam, eggs, fruit platter…).

In conclusion, we were sorry for only staying two nights and can really recommend this place for its outstanding setting, clean rooms and good service.

Tip: bikes are available (free of charge) and moterbikes can be rented for a small price.

This resort is set at the foot of limestone rock, like a land version of Ha Long bay. It is the most beautiful oasis of calm, located down a long lane and features quirky accommodation types from bamboo huts on stilts to converted buses! The rooms are positioned around a big lake and landscaped gardens which are exceptionally well kept.

We stayed in one of the thatched huts which had a lake view. The room was perfect - plenty of space including a hanging rail and wardrobe for clothes, plus big bathroom / wet room. There were a few mozzy’s but the room had an electric fly swat if you were quick enough to catch them. Our favourite thing to do was to sit on the terrace with a coffee in the morning and soak up the view! We also liked the fact there were picnic benches dotted around the lake if you wanted to sit and chill. The other thing to mention is that there’s Wi-Fi connectivity everywhere you go around the resort which is really handy.

There are 2 improvements this resort could make which I feel would really positively impact them. One is the food… whilst there are a vast array of menu options, I think it would work in their favour to offer fewer but better quality dishes. The breakfast would also benefit from fresh pastries and bread options.

Secondly, whilst the pool is absolutely stunning (it really is picture perfect overlooking the lake), there are only 5 sun beds which, during really busy periods, means there’s nowhere to relax in the sun once they’re all taken (the picnic benches are under trees which suits their purpose). A little jetty out onto the lake with additional beds would be fabulous!

The hotel is situated near a few towns, all of which are accessible (and cheap) by taxi which the hotel can call for you.

I would definitely recommend staying here for a few days, it’s perfect to relax and unwind!

Definitely loved staying in An's Eco Garden while exploring Ninh Binh for two nights. Arrived on a shuttle bus from Ha Long and was dropped off about 1.5km away with all of our luggages and bags, luckily their staff came quickly to get us and our belongings with scooters!

After that we knew we were in good hands there at An's. Our bungalow was really charming, definitely keep in mind there will be mosquitos and such- but it really is a charming hotel when you look past that. For breakfast they serve pho which was a highlight to our mornings. They also have fruits and fries and eggs, juice etc. We also had dinner after our check-in and everything was great (beef pho and stir fried noodles with beef and salad rolls).

Their grounds are kept really well and tidy too and the staff are a pleasure to talk to and the manager even helped my bf with his first scooter experience- a memory we will always have :)

Breathtaking natural setting, charming cabins, beautiful pool and reasonable prices...this place really could have been great BUT ... the restaurant hardly had any food on menu available during our 3 night stay and they served dishes consistently cold, late and not at the same time. It took almost half an hour to get a menu at breakfast and then another half hour to get a tiny cup of coffee. They only had 2 dinner menus for the whole restaurant! Especially because the hotel is quite isolated from town the restaurant really needs to be better. General hotel service was also very inconsistent and poor ( didn’t clean room regularly, didn’t replace toilet paper, didn’t tidy public sitting areas , we had to wait for our room to be prepared for quite a while although we arrived several hours after check in time and had notified them of our arrival time way ahead of time). Staff was friendly— but they were way understaffed, undertrained and limited English made matters even worse. They need a new cook and restaurant manager ASAP, and an addition of a comfy lounge area and equipped bar with a bartender would be a major improvement. Also upon check-in more info on activities in town and a map would be great! No fishing or boating available for kids when we were there ( as mentioned in other reviews). This place could be great with a real restaurant, trained staff and a hotel manager with a clear vision for the place who knows what they are doing. I wanted to love this place but sadly we came away frustrated.

We chose to stay at An's as it was outside the tourist areas, and it just looked amazing. We were not disappointed. We were heartily welcomed when we arrived and shown our rooms and facilities. Each of the rooms are simply decorated with no frills, but exactly what we needed. The rim- flow pool was a bonus and we jumped in shortly after arriving g, which was a blessing g. Phun (not sure of spelling, the manager was extremely accommodating and arranged everything we needed, including motorbikes, car bookings, and advice. After we checked out, they held our bags for us (as most do) until we arrived back later that day. The bonus was that we were given a free shower, another swim, and could enjoy a beer while waiting for our transfer - great customer service! Highly recommended for a relaxed venue away from the madding crowd with all the perks.

Imagine An's Eco Garden resort in a valley surrounded on awe by beautiful mountains. It tempted us with so many village like charms of nature- herb n flowering plants, fruit trees, rice ponds, fish n prawn ponds that also doubled as Rowling boats, and many others. At the backyard is the arch row of a dozen fully equipped units that house our stay.
Everything for our stay n visits to other places of interest in Binh Binh are taken arranged by An's Eco.
Most importantly, the staff are helpful, and
we are served with delicious and healthy breakast/lunch/dinner.
We are happy n satisfied with our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at An‘s Eco Garden and can highly recommend their friendliness, they were so forthcoming. The kids loved the big (really big!) garden, playground and pool. The location at the end of a „valley“ is beautiful to enjoy Ninh Binh‘s landscape.

We spent a week here, and it was very nice. Away from the crazyness of Tam Coc, but close to what you want to see. The huts are clean, the place is very peaceful, and the service is excellent. You can rent a motorbike from them also. They speak good English, and you can also get picked up if you want to travel to Hanoi, as they have connections to get you there. Clean, peaceful, and very pretty location. We really enjoyed our stay there. Steve Gummert

I really want to write a wonderful review because this hotel is beautiful. Immediately when you arrive you have a wonderful backdrop of farms and mountains surrounding. The compound is well maintained and manicured. The check in was easy.

The room: The room is unique but not well insulated which guests should understand what that means. Prepare for the possibility of mosquitos and other critters entering the room. With that said if you are looking for a unique experience and willing to accept the potential - this is the place. We didn’t see any critters but also made sure not to leave any food out.

The breakfast was not ideal. I agree with other reviews the food can be improved. Compared to other places we stayed it ranked at the bottom. I think this could be an easy fix for this hotel.

The staff were friendly and available for questions. They assisted with a scooter rental and transportation to the airport.
