We stayed here for two nights with our toddler son and I have nothing but positive things to say about Kingfisher. Our room was clean and lovely with a little balcony on the second floor. We appreciated the larger size fridge and shelf space. Breakfast was served al fresco on the main porch, basic foods but very tasty. They made fried eggs to order and had a few local options - the rice porridge and samosas were amazing! Our son LOVED the play area and the toys available. The staff was very helpful; the one gentleman made some lunch suggestions that were great, and organized a boat tour for us. Sangkhlaburi is quite a distance from Bangkok but I would happily stay here again if we return.

First impression was bad, as the young man checking us in was extremely hectic and not especially friendly. We had requested a room upstairs, got a downstairs room. All the rooms are located pretty close together in the main building, so if you're a light sleeper, you can be lucky if the air con is loud enough to overhear the other noise. The place is children-friendly with a small playground, a trampoline and lots of toys. The price of 1500.- THB for a double is too much for Sangklhaburi, even if the breakfast is o.k. The second day the place warmed up. They sell a lot of (Burmese) jewellery and stones.

A very nice homely and welcoming feeling is here for me, clean and modern rooms. A very nice breakfast and a relaxed vibe, hopefully I can return one day. The location is about 10 minutes stroll from the village centre

Great stylish rooms with quality mattress and air conditioning. The facilities were clean and modern. A good range of breakfast options. The host were so welcoming and kind with both English and Thai owners/staff. Gave helpful advice on local places to go and where to get the best deals. Three pagoda, jungle tours, local temples, etc. A tranquil Thai getaway! We would definitely recommend Kingfisher House to anyone considering visiting Thailand.

Perfect accommodation in every way. From exceptionally generous breakfasts, bottomless tea-making facilities, immersive family environment, and creative assistance, Rachel and Mit are superb hosts. An initial booking mix up (no fault of the hosts) was quickly resolved by Rachel finding excellent alternative accommodation for a night near by, and offering us a free breakfast the next morning.... BEFORE we'd even checked in!! Not only was this very generous and friendly, the breakfast proved to be the best fusion buffet I've ever seen... and virtually bottomless too. Mit, Rachel and their gorgeous children were a wonderful family with whom to stay, and we felt totally included in their daily routines and adventures. Kingfisher House is my absolute recommendation as the first choice go to place to stay in Sangkhlaburi.
