We have stayed at Hapla Beach three times now and will be back again for sure. Lovely bungalows, nice and friendly staff and excellent (and not the cheapest) food. Very cosy and quiet, this is the best place if you want to relax. Clean bungalows and a pretty garden.
Hapla Beach was not the place we stayed at as we were located at a neighbouring resort, BUT, it was the place we visited daily for everything we were not getting at our resort. Excellent food of the highest quality, wonderful cocktails, perfect service, and a very very cool beach vibe! We loved it so much we paid for the New Years dinner on the beach and loved the great options provided by the staff. Hospitality is the first and last thing you will notice from Hapla! They smile and greet you morning, noon or night, and are genuine people who provided any and all that we wanted above and beyond. Should we ever make it back to the area, we will be staying at Hapla! Make the journey, you won't regret it.
This place had such good ratings we decided to walk along the beach from the sunset beach resort. Well.... we ordered, received food for our 4 yr old relatively quick. Which he didn’t eat in the end, as the “plain” noodles were fried with garlic. I went to the bar to ask about my beer after 20 min. Turns out they forgot it. After another 40 min or so, they came over to say that they forgot about our meals and would start them now. We got up, paid and left without eating!!!! We ended up back at our place where we enjoyed really good food at much cheaper prices!
Hi there! First, getting to Hapla is not that easy. We went to Phuket Airport, hired a car, drove a lot, took the ferry, drove some more, and finally we arrived there. Taking the car there meant we had to wait a lot for the ferry both ways, but we were mobile, which you need, since there is nothing around Hapla. The property itself is very nice, when you are approaching it you start seeing the beautiful garden, which we fell in love with. There were lots of blooming plants like orchids, hibiscus, etc. and it made the place so lovely. The bungalow itself was spacious, with big (1.8 m wide) bed, nice bathroom and a patio. There is no aircon, but a fan. Which was enough on our first night, but on the rest we were a bit hot during the night. We had breakfast there a couple of times, it was delicious and more than enough. Some people here on TA commented on the prices of the restaurant, but you should not forget that in general prices here are a bit higher due to its remoteness. BTW, we found a nice and cheap place that is called Tex-Mex Taco Restaurant, it was the cheapest, but very good place. The beach is very nice, though we got some jellyfish stings.…
With our grown up kids we spent a couple of days at Hapla. Although it's only 8 km from the ferry to the island it feels extremely remote. There's a lovely little restaurant at the beach serving good food at slightly higher than average prices (the cocktails are good). The bungalows are in a lovely setting and are basic as expected (fan, no aircon) but perfectly serviceable and reasonable for the price. Hammocks abound between trees on the beach - very comfy - and you can walk for miles on the beach and not see a soul. The ferry is only 10 minutes crossing from the mainland and you can take a car. For a short back to nature getaway, we thoroughly recommend Hapla
