Nice little property with bungalows laid out over an extensive garden. The bungalows are a bit dated, the crt TVs in the bedroom would attest to that. Big pool area which unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to use. The bed a bit on the harder side for a farang.

The property is a couple of kilometers away from town. The place is quiet but be prepared to hear a rooster in the morning, which is probably true for 90% of the properties in Pai.

The staff very friendly and nice. Wifi worked off and on during our stay.

I stayed at Baan Krating for two nights and was pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not quite do this place justice, and it is based on lovely premises, with lovely little chalets/bunglaows dotted around. The rooms are pretty spacious with a nice bathroom. However, some guests did report that they did not have hot water in their showers. The rooms also have a little back porch that looks out over the surrounding landscape, which is very pretty.
My only complaints were that a) the wifi does not reach all the rooms, so I had to go to reception whenever I wanted to use it, b) our AC would not switch off, which made the room very cold at night, and c) the mattresses are pretty hard (although this does seem pretty standard for Thailand).
Overall though, I was pleasantly surprised, the breakfast was relatively good, and the staff were lovely.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Really nice bungalows. Well maintained grounds. Huge beds, excellent A/C. Free toiletries provided. Towels for the room and the pool area supplied. Staff were really friendly. You can hire a scooter through them, which was ideal. Reception will also call you a taxi if you want to head into town. Theres just a couple of things which could make the stay better. Wifi wasn't the best and it would have been handy if they did food during the day/night.

We stayed one night luckily. Boring place, cold welcome, poor breakfast. Nobody there, cold room. Good warm shower. Old fashioned room. We didn’t like the place because of the poor service. 2 km from the nice city of Pai.

We went to the hotel after having spent the six previous nights in five star resorts and somehow apprehended to go. Upon arrival, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is well located slightly outside Pai, right on the river. The pool is nice, the resort well kept and the rooms simply very good. Spacious, good beds, airco, great towels; in short, not far away from what we were used to the previous nights and much better than we were told before. The only disappointment was the restaurant. Though the food was great, service was virtually inexistent, though well meant. However, for the money we paid, it was still excellent value and again, the food was among the best we had during our ten days trip in Thailand.

Excellent value for money. The bungalows are all large and around a central large garden. Although si mple furniture, the rooms are nicely decorated and have all amenities. Bathroom are with wood, which make a nice atmosphere. Remember you are in the middle of nowhere in a mid sized hotel (not a 5 star hotel). Staff is very nice. The best is the restaurant which is on the second floor of a building away from the rooms. Stunning views, excellent food. Come early around 5:30 or 6 pm the enjoy the views (its early dark inThailand). Take time to enjoy a drink and some excellent Thai food.
Breakfast was in a inside room, thats a not so nice. The breakfast was to simple, they should make a buffet breakfast, its easier and quicker for the guests. They should organise the breakfast also on the rooftop restaurant (better than downstairs).. The resort also has a big swimming pool. location is nice, but a bit empty. Some more chairs, tables would be nicers. Also some plants or flowers will improve the area around the swimming pool.

This place might have been nice once but is now very shabby around the edges.
It does not appear to be that clean, especially the bathroom, also there is poor security on doors and windows.
Had to ask to have a safe installed in the room as the room did not have one
Being a sort of lodge type of accommodation there is torch supplied for the room but mine did not work.
I don't recommend staying here

The room chalets are delapidated, furniture old and scuffed, signs and smell of damp everywhere. Worse no safe in the room so a maintenance man appeared at my door and screwed something into the wall that came off the ark. The rooms are not at all secure, I wouldn't let a single woman stay here. Plus the curtains are filthy together with a general lack of any care with cleaning or maintenance; damage, mould, limescale, cobwebs. Must have been nice in its day but nothing has been done since eg the tv's are still cathode ray! Thank God I'm only staying here one night.

This is our third visit to Thailand. We absolutely love the people and all the places where we have stayed until now. The resort is not bad, has quite pretty gardens and is out amongst the greenery. The greeting and attitude of staff at reception is dismal at best, if not almost rude. Not at all helpful with maps (have none) as resort is out of town and we didn't know how to get there! They said wait until 1900 and we can shuttle you in (we arrived about 1500!), tours (didn't want to know about), said we have no wifi (my wife and I a day later have discovered there is wifi and you just log in, no password required). Bath mat looks like it's come out of a mechanics garage (it is just a rag) replacement in worse condition , shower curtain is full of mould, cleanliness is average. Smiles, helpfulness, service, friendliness etc do not exist here. It's a shame because (having been in the accommodation tourist industry for over 30 years) it would only take good management a very short while to ramp it up. We are paying about $100 Australian per night. We've had a look around Pai and even though it's busy season are some nicer and cheaper places around. We have booked 2 extra nights not far from here for less than half and inspected the room we are getting. So sorry Baan Krating Resort we will not be recommending you or returning to you.

This resort felt a bit run down. I don't usually have a problem with allergies but after closing all the curtains I was immediately overcome by allergies. The aircon was old and worked off and on (lucky the weather was cool). Hot water ran out in the middle of my shower. Breakfast was typical Thai style American breakfast buffet with the addition of fried rice and Khao Tom. The orange juice was like coloured water. This place needs a serious overhaul. Service was average at best.
