We stayed here 10 days and loved it. We looked at several places and this was the best one by far. Cabins are spacious, well constructed and have a nice veranda. The smaller cabins also have a back deck- ours overlooked a small pond. The manager spoke good English and was really helpful. The location was great because you're just a few minutes ride from town but enjoy the quiet of the countryside.

My friends and I stayed here for one night after switching from a different place. The rooms here are well worth the price since the quality of the rooms here are of a three to four star hotel. Maybe it was just coincidental timing or this hotel isn't well known, but we rolled in with 9 people looking for 5 rooms one morning and just got it. Although the staff don't speak English at all, they were still helpful in telling us how far certain places were. Location was not a problem for us since we had motorbikes. The only unique feature of the rooms is the outdoor shower. If you don't mind insects buzzing around you while you shower at night, then this place is perfect.

My girlfriend and I traveled up to Pai on the advice of some locals without any idea where we would stay when we got there. All I can say is that we absolutely lucked out in finding this place. Pai is a very small town that hasn't been discovered yet by many travel agencies/travel websites. As of today there are only six hotels listed here on tripadvisor. Pai lies in the province of Mae Hong Son on the northern Thai border with Myanmar and it is absolutely breathtaking. The scenery is unimaginable. oNlya 3 hr bus ride from the hub of Chiang Mai, but it feels like a world away. You can use Pai to just relax, as a hub for some great tours of the north. We did both.
The resort is broken upo into little villas, so whatever rrom you get, you have a small house to yourself. They have one room and two room villas for two and four people respectively. The restaurant is great, they have a full spa, can set you up with any tour you could possibly want, and the staff are some of the nicest people we have ever met inside Thailand or out. The whole resort has avery laidback feel to it. We spoke to the manager who said the resort also serves as a type of homestay program of farmers fomr the local hilltribes who tend to the gardens and stunning landscaping. While taking a morning stroll aroudn the resort and looking at the mountain views, the farmers are delighted to communicate with you, speaking any english they have mnanaged to pick up. They even ionvited us to help out with harvesting the rice, which we gladly did! It's a great resort. Check it out.I don't write reviews for much of anything, but when i noticed that this place wasnt on triup advisor i contacted the resort to get the address and phone number because I had to get the word out, the treated us great, so in true Thai style I should return the facor.

Pai herbs once a time must have been nice.. but now it is a very old rundown place.. the bed is hard and old , the bungalows are in need of serious repair, dogs barking all night ... the breakfast is old bananas, and pork porridge .. no vegetarian options orange squash and biscuits!!
The inflatable swimming pool is dirty and was only turned on when a Thai trip bus turned up ... this is a major rip off and should not be more than 500 baht... very unpleasant with a barely warm shower and ancient air con .... avoid many better places in pai and much cheaper

We just came one night for an event. But the rooms were really nice and the staff are fantastic.

The location is a little bit out of town towards the Chinese village and Montis Hotel. The Google maps location is correct.

There has been a lot of improvements since many of the reviews here. I think all the showers are now enclosed and nice and warm on chilly Pai mornings.

They can arrange motorbike delivery and seemed very helpful.

A pleasant stay overall!

I found this hotel to be a very pleasant stay. It isn't ideally located but we hired a moped and it was about a 5 minute drive into town. The staff are lovely! When we first arrived and wanted to go into town, the lady gave us a lift in her own car. Then from there we hired a moped. The rooms were very clean, tidy and fairly modern. Had fan and air con which was great! Kettle and a fridge. Your room is actually in its on little hut and the views were great! You get your own little porch where you can sit and chill and appreciate how quiet the location is! 700 baht a night great value for money - roughly £7 each.

This hotel is not ideal for travellers unless you're going to rent mopeds (and not drink alcohol).. If you wanna have a drink, a taxi will need to come and pick you up unless you fancy a 1.5 mile walk back from the centre. This place is absolutely riddled with mosquitos. Rooms are pretty decent, beds are comfy.

After touring through the Mae Hong Son area and not seeing any westerners for a while, it was an abnormally pleasant surprise to be in a touristy haven. The town is full of farang shops/ restaurants/pubs etc, but was nice for a day/night. The hotel was a few minutes ride on a scooter from the main street, which makes it nice and quiet, although too far to walk. The villas at Pai Herbs were of a high standard, the reception area nice. The restaurant was a short walk down the road. We were pleased with our stay but would have wanted more facilities if staying longer than a night or 2.

Great balance of price/nature/comfort.

The single bungalows are perfect for a few days while visiting Pai.

2 private balconies on each bungalow.

And, the dogs that live on the property are great!

As some other said, Pai Herbs is a bit "far" but if you have a scooter (and you should, Pai is best on a scooter!) then you'll be fine!

I only stayed one night because not only is it far from town, but the housing itself is so far back in the road that it takes 5 minutes just to get to the street walking and there is nothing around the resort. The host / reception was not friendly or helpful either. Wi-Fi barely worked either I'm guessing since my room was so far from the main reception building. Pluses, you get your own traditional Thai house, super clean, enormous room, slippers, beautiful river view. Minuses, tons of mosquitos, bad Wi-Fi, and the shower is actually outside partially enclosed so showering with insects is necessary.
