This place has so much potential. It’s a real shame that it seems to have been so badly let go. I visited just for the day to use the hot spring and pool. I chose to go here because it was only 100baht entry rather than 300baht or more for the Tha Pai Hot Springs which is very close by. I also figured it would be quieter. It was easy to find. You pay the entrance fee and receive a ticket. There are little signs next to the path to direct you. The hot spring was 40°C and I found it very pleasant. There are some toilets/change rooms close by. They are not so much dirty as just old and run down, just like the entire ‘resort’ really. The pool is at the opposite end. It was large, cool and had a nice view of the river. There are old wooden sun beds on the deck, but not all have a mattress. Everything is out in the direct sun, there is no shade at all. I stayed for about 1.5hours. It was fine for I paid and definitely very quiet. It would be awesome if someone took over and really gave the place some much need TLC. It could truly be an outstanding place to both stay and/or visit for the day.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Has a great pool right on the river,, really nice hot springs and the staff are very friendly. Easy enough to get a shuttle to town when need. Also a great little spa for a massage. Rooms(economy) are adequate. Could use a little upgrade. Beautiful grounds and if you lucky you might see an elephant from the center down the road walk by. Some staff have difficulty with English but they tried very hard to understand.

The best thing about this place is the nice and warm hotspring bath that is free for the resort guests to use. I spent almost an hour there and found it to be quite relaxing. The double room I booked was of the standard type. Not the luxury ones next to the river. But my room was ok. Nice and clean and I had a good night sleep after that hotspring bath. The weak point of this resort is that it is quite run down in many areas around the resort. The front and the reception look nice. But the further inside you go, the more "old and outdated" this place looks. All in all, for the price I paid and the facility I used, it was a good deal.

Terrible experience here. The resort is old, not well maintained. Staff is rude and not helpfull.
Restaurant was closed and there was nothing to eat for dinner of breakfast in less than 2km around.
When we asked for towels for the swimming pool, they told us to us our bathroom towels or pay 20 THB.
W have also requested a taxi to go back to Chiang Mai and they wanted to charge 3500 THB while other taxis in the city was at 2500 THB.
The hot spring is dirty and not at a good temperature.
Avoid this place.

The villa is beautiful, though the walk from the check in to the villa is far (we got the river view) so not for those handicap people to lug bags around. The spa pool in the room are not cleaned, so it's a waste of one of the best features. The entrance is hard to find so try not to go at night, one 1 staff working that I saw for check in, the walk to the villa is also quite dark.
TIPS: Quite alot of insect, so bring your own insecticide if you hate bugs.
They have a hot spa pool though, bring your swim suit.

Although the pictures online are beautiful...it is run down. Please don't waste your time booking here. They need to change numerous things on their website. The restaurant was closed. We couldn't get a shuttle bus to town to get to eat or shop. The swimming pool was closed. I asked for a beach towel to at least lay out on our deck and reception said to use my shower towel. The staff were indifferent and couldn't help us at all with any questions. And ohhhh...no massage they said they offered online. Bed was like a rock. We Woke up ever morning with stiff neck and back. Happy to be leaving this hotel!!

We just came back from our New Years Eve at Pai Hotspring SPA resort.

I never been so cheated and treated with such disrespect!
Me and my girlfriend (I am Swedish, and my girlfriend is Chinese) lived in Chiang Mai for 4 years. We know all about the standard for room and food prices.

We understand about high season, and specially a day like New Years eve!
But, the only reason why we booked this place was because we both found it interesting and nice with the private bathtub hot spring in the room. We wanted to make our New Year special.
When we arrived (5 pm) the room wasn’t even ready for check-in, but we were told check-in was at 1 pm.
So, we waited for the room to get clean. But when we came in the room, a 4-star hotel, the room wasn’t clean. The trash bin was full of old toilet paper. And we didn’t have any new toilet paper in the room.
This is what to expect from a 4-star hotel?
But, then, to our biggest disappointment and rip off! The hot-spring didn’t work…
We wanted to enjoy the hot-spring in our room because of the really cold winter!

So we went up to talk to the manager. No explanation, just said to my girlfriend in thai, even she is Chinese, “I give you 20% discount”…
I wanted to explain our reason for come here, but we were told we can use the public hot-spring anytime. That is a 5-minute walk from our room. And it’s 10 degrees at night-time…
But why we paid for the private hot-spring, and not get it?

Then, the manager lied to us 2 times….
1. I asked how much for a room without the private hot-spring, because that is what our room was, a normal room. She told me 4300 baht. I later checked on internet, and it was 2250 baht. Which I SHOULD pay!
Why pay for something in a hotel description and get something you not pay for?!

2. She told us that they informed us about this on the internet. I asked her if she could show me where, she couldn’t.
I later checked everywhere on the website. Couldn’t see anywhere!
We didn’t get ANY information about the hot-spring not working in the rooms. If we knew, we wouldn’t stay there! We have a house in Chiang Mai, but we left the house and had the worst New Year ever because of Pai Hot Spring SPA Resort…

The day after we wanted to talk with the manager again. She didn’t even want to meet us, she was sitting in a house, didn’t want to get out. First we were told she wasn’t there, and then we were told she was busy. Even we were sitting there for 1,5 hour.
Even me and my girlfriend can speak thai, and we could hear the other managers didn’t want to talk to us too, because it’s not their problem.

The GALA NEW YEAR dinner was a joke. For 1300 baht per person, we expect something really nice!
First disappointment, for 1300 baht, no drinks include, not even WATER!
And the food was NOTHING special; it was same like a school dinner, a buffe with fried rice and low quality food…
We talked with a lot other guest, and everybody was very disappointed. A thai family told us they even had to pay 1300 baht for her 5 year old daughter.

The only one who talked with us was the receptionist, and I feel bad for her, because it’s not her fault. The manager just send her to talk with us, and said sorry sorry.

This review is just based on the hotspring and swimming pool. We didn't stay in the accommodation but it looked nice, the garden leading to the swimming pool is lovely and you can't complain about the scenery. The cushions for the sun lounger do need replacing. The hot springs are quite lovely and the swimming pool is also good, once your brave enough to embrace the freezing water that is! go in though as it is a lovely swim. Cost 100 baht each to use this service.

This place is incredible. We were deliberating between this, and Family House, Aqua resort and Mae hong son mountain inn. This had all the things we needed, and so glad we picked this. As we pulled up it appeared like some lovely seen from a film! Everything was tranquil peaceful and beautiful. Lovely mineral hotspring baths dotted around the grounds, beautiful huts (jealous of the ones with hot tubs!) and a gorgeous pool. Staff couldnt do enough for you, particularly the kind older man at reception. My friend nudged me one day as we were sunbathing and I sat up and there was an elephant about 3 metres ahead of us walking through the river - incredible. The scenery is stunning and Pai is just about the nicest place on earth. This is french countryside, meets italian vineyard meets canadian rockies! Amazing. Room clean and quite basic but nice stone wall. Would only say be careful about making sure you get a ride home from town as the only available option to us was motorbikes after about 1030 - terrifying if you dont like them!
