The gardens and carp pond at the back of the Hotel, where the restaurants are located, are stunning and beautifully designed, clearly a more recent addition and frankly rather unexpected when checking in and going to the rooms which are a bit dated, but having said that are perfectly fine and comfortable. The Hotel is well located in the town and attractions are walkable. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was fine, Thai food of course, very reasonably priced. Breakfast was again Thai style. Certainly I would return to this Hotel as its great value for money with very friendly staff.

From the outside and the lobby, this place looks very good.
Inside the room is quite dated. Windows, bed, appliances, outlets, sink, shower are all quite old, but functional. No hair dryer or iron. Small mini-fridge. (-1.5 star)
The restaurant area is very beautiful.
The breakfast is pretty good. There are a couple coffee bars, although were not open at 8 am.
Staff was kind.
My biggest complaint was the charge for laundry service. Granted, it was VERY fast (2 hour turnaround time), but it ended up being 3000 baht (which was more than the room I think. (-1 star)
I would consider other options but wouldn't rule this out in the future. I would not do laundry here though!

We stayed 2 nites to attend our son's wedding in Lampang. The room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The staff was efficient & friendly. Good hotel if you're in Lampang. The hotel has a nice outdoor garden & is 5 mins walking distance near to Central Mall.

Truly horrible. Dark rooms. Garden view was a walk with pidgeons. Breakfast was sausage flowers. Toilet seat cracked. Cracking noise in walls all night. Mold in bathroom. Dirty walls. Booked for two nights but I'm going to move today.

My husband and I stayed here only one night on a tour of Thailand but it was a lovely hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. The pool area was gorgeous. The staff, as almost all Thai people we met, were very helpful and kind

Room is quite clean. Staffs are good service. Hotel not provide hair dryer in room. You must call to borrow at front dest. Good Location in heart of city. Breakfast a la carte style. But change to Line buffet every Sat-Sun.

This place looks really nice when one first enters it. The lobby and dining areas are really spacious and inviting. However, it is not in a convenient location and the menu had the regular Thai junk on it, which one tires of eating after awhile. We walked through the hotel, out the back, turned to the right and went down the street for a kilometer or so to a shopping center and enjoyed a pizza and beer. The tv in the room only received 10 channels or so and the continental breakfast wasn't buffet style as are all of the other hotels. One really hasn't much choice of what to eat so I ordered a fried egg well done. The waitress brought out one with sausage and some other garbage on the plate so I just had coffee and a couple of slices of toast that was on the table. I did mess up the egg so they wouldn't serve the plate to someone else. This was the worse breakfast that I've had in a long time.

Stayed here one night as part of a Smartour tour of Thailand. The bus barely fit into the front lot so I was expecting a very plain and average hotel -- then what a surpirse ! This is a beautiful hotel with incredible decorations. My room was great, clean and comfortable - but a little small. Walking through the back of the hotel you pass through a park like garden and fountain. Then there is a really nice restuarant. Cutting through to the back you exit to the street and if you walk across the bridge there is a Tesco store just up the road within a 15 mintue walk/

There is no breakfast buffet here. You can ask for either a Thai or Western breakfast. I chose the Thai breakfast which was phenominal and left wanting more !

By Lampang standards the Wienglakor is very good.

The idea that excellent service will promote tourism hasn't quite caught on in Lampang, so expectations are best slightly lowered.

The hotel obviously received heavy invested many years ago, but is now slightly shabby and in need of an update in most parts.

The rooms are basic; comfortable and clean, with tv, fridge, and bath in en-suite (a bonus in Thai hotels).

Breakfast is simple, with a Thai/Chinese or European option.

The staff are pleasant in the most part, but could possibly be a little more professional.

If visiting Lampang I would recommend the Wienglakor Hotel, but it's not a place you would go out of your way to visit.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group through Smartours. We understand from the local Thai guide that this hotel is the best of what is available in Lampang of tourist class hotels. The hotel is a bit faded, worn and could use some updates. The room was clean and comfortable but the bed was hard. The bathroom shows a lack of care with tape holding the showerhead together, need of a good paint job and chipped soap dish.

Do not expect much for breakfast. There is an American option for the meat eaters – egg, some fried meat product, white toast. And for us vegetarians – veggie fried rice, white toast, cabbage soup, coffee that was bitter and tea. All are served fruit – the best part of this breakfast.

Considering what out tour guide said this is probably about the best that you can expect in Lampang.
