My third stay at View Rock, and I'd never stay anywhere else on Ko Tao. Owners still in good control of the whole place, and the service is excellent. Room and bathroom were spotless, and the owners can't really do anything about the humid hot weather. Electricity only at night, which I think was a step down from last time...

We stayed for 2 days as my wife came to hin Wong bungalows 20 years ago . We stayed in room 102 for 700 baht - clean room with a mosquito net- there were great views. The room wasn't too far from restaurant and steps to go snorkeling. My 11 year son loved it. Lots of snorkeling to do, rocks...

Beautiful location. Secluded and quiet. If you're looking to party, look elsewhere. Free snorkeling equipment provided nd scope to arrange scuba from here. Food is good and well priced.

We had read the review in Lonely Planet and wanted somewhere secluded after the madness of Bangkok. We were greeted on arrival by the owners in a pick up truck and taken across to the resort. There is no other way of getting there, the road to the resort is pure 4x4 territory, take a scooter at your peril! The...

This is our second time to the resort in our travels and we have only been here a few weeks. We are already trying to incorporate another stop here after visiting some other islands. The owners are so friendly and helpful, always with the biggest smiles and great advice about anything you could ask. The staff is incredibly attentive and...

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was our favourite place in Thailand. Staff picked us up from the ferry and took us over to their resort. We initially stayed in town and wondered why we had come to Thailand as we were overun by tourists on noisy motorbikes. However over at View Rock we were the only people there......

We knew there was no beach, that this place would be remote and simple, but we didn't expect quite so many fish! Each day a HUGE shoal of thousands of fish came into the bay and were a joy to see! As soon as you enter the water from the rocks or pontoon, you are surrounded by fish; not so...

After being 6 months in Bangkok with my best friend, we took this one-week trip to Koh Tao. As students we didn't had that much money left for this vacation so we booked View Rock Resort: looked good and remoted, and after several luxurious hotels we've been before, this was exactly what we were looking for. When we arrived (after...

As other reviewers have said, you have to know what you are getting into when coming to View Rock: it is very, very isolated, and it is unlikely that you'll leave the hotel while checked in there. But why would you want to leave? The rooms are comfortable with amazing views of the ocean; the food is very good (though...

“Many steps down to the restaurant and water's edge, and many up to the parking lot. So they are only accessible to those with good knees. Don't recommend for guests very old or very young. But if you can manage those steps - fabulous”
