My boyfriend and I loved our stay here. At first we were a bit dubious because of the sound coming from the other end of the beach (bars with fire dancers play pretty loud music) but we were pleasantly surprised that we barely heard a thing once in our room. The hotel is located at the very end of the beach (quieter part) but it’s super easy to walk to all of the restaurants and beach bars. We stayed in a treetop villa and it was great. Air con worked well, outside shower was cool. There were a bunch of steps to climb to get to the cottage but we appreciated the exercise. The room came with bug spray too. We ended up extending our stay in Koh tao and decided to stay longer at this hotel. We moved to a white sand villa (less steps to climb). This place was huge and really cool decor. We loved it as much as the tree top villa. This hotel is in a great location (near the action but not fully in it). Great sunsets from the beach. We hired the water taxi guy right next to our hotel to drive us around the island snorkeling for the day. Way better than the overcrowded boat trips. For four stops we paid 2000 baht. We could have negotiated a little less up the beach but we liked Bo (the guys name)- he didn’t seem sketch and filled a cooler up with water for us. Highly recommend a private long tail snorkeling trip over the big boats. So easy to arrange too, but haggle if you need to. Breakfast was our least favorite part of this hotel but not the worst we’ve ever had. Great views but don’t recommend eating here for dinner. Just walk to the awesome local restaurants nearby. We also rented a motorbike and the hotel arranged for us- 200baht a day. They dropped it off and picked it up. Also, free taxi service from the pier (just look for someone holding your sign). We didn’t realize this was even included and got off the boat and saw a man holding our hotel sign so we got in and it was free. Also free transfer back to the ferry. We had a 6am ferry and the hotel graciously made us a to go breakfast that we picked up the night before. Lovely staff, great location, away from the craziness but close enough to everything if you don’t mind a ten minute walk. We’d come back here.

Everything about Koh Tao Cabana was amazing. The cabanas are beautifully acquainted and come with everything you could possibly need including jaw dropping views. The air conditioner was outstanding. The location is ideal as it’s a short drive from the main pier, which the pick you up and drop you off. The resort is walking distance to many stores and restaurants. The restaurant on the property was a daily favorite as well. There are also motorbike rentals on site. They literally have everything you will need. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the management and staff. Their kindness, attention to detail and assistance in making bookings are beyond what I’ve experienced while staying at the St. Regis in Aspen. I will always stay at Koh Tao Cabanas.

Wonderful beach resort. Beautiful bungalows great almost private beach (SUP, snorkeling, beach volleyball, etc) with good restaurant and great service. They will do everything possible to make your stay perfect.

We stayed with our four adult kids and had three bungalows. All were beautiful, clean, and had AC. They even had a Bluetooth speaker system in each room. The bungalows have enclosed attached outdoor showers (very nicely done). The grounds are incredible with lots of blooming tropical flowers and beautiful palms.

I was told that the hotel is 20 years old. Which was a surprise as it is in excellent condition.

If there were one less than perfect thing, it would be the swimming pool. As it would be ridiculous to hang out be the pool with the incredible beach with palm trees and lounge chairs, I did not see this as a drawback.

It is not right at the craziness of all the Sairee beach bars and things (it is located at the far end of the beach) but only a 10 min walk down the beach.

The location was perfect for us as it had walking access to everything but was away from the noise when we wanted it.

I would say it is great for a romantic getaway, as well as families or family gatherings with adult children.

It really does not get nicer than this.

Overpriced. Not worth what you pay. I initially booked into an Airbnb on sairee beach which was like a jumbo youth hostel so I walked the beach, saw the cabanas and went in thinking it was idyllic place to spend Xmas. The front desk overcharged me to a point I was haggling with her showing her the online prices. I got a villa just behind the beach. It was so dark. The place was clean. Wi-Fi turned on and off at times. I went t beach to watch the sunset and I was booted off the bed at 6 on the button. I wrote already what I thought of sairee beach. It’s loud, very loud after midnight till 4 at least in the morning. It’s very dark coming back to hotel so if your nervous. Don’t but then your locked in your room for the night. From your bed you can hear everything. The food in restaurant was burnt, overcooked and unflavoured. The staff are over worked and tired. The place is tired. I completely made a huge mistake going here. I ended up leaving a day early and left the island.

My husband and I stayed here over our honeymoon and it was our favorite hotel. It is located at the end of Sairree beach, so you can easily walk to all the restaurants and bars, but also have the calm quiet feel of the island. The breakfast buffet was good, and the staff treated us very well. Clean and good air conditioning too!

We booked into the Koh Tao Cabana for a week in early February. The rooms are wonderful in a felt traditional style with a lovely bathroom in semi outdoor (definitely great to experience). The actual resort is huge and feels like you are staying a bit in a jungle. The hotel even provides a mosquito spray for you.
The hotel is a 10 min walk from most restaurants and bars and you don’t hear any of the music and partying anymore which is great.
Breakfast is not great, neither we would say the evening restaurant and you find much better food on the small restaurants on the island.

Staff at the reception was friendly and helpful. Also staff at the pool, restaurant and beach are friendly and helpful. There could be a bit more service visible at the beach or pool; often we’d have to go and ask to order inside, but that’s ok. Generally the food was ok, especially the local dishes! Breakfast was good; the buffet is not too great, but the extra’s that can be ordered from the menu are of a wide variety and good quality.

We booked the Treehouse, a huge and exceptionally nice cabana. Very spacious and cool design! It’s a bit of a climb/walk, but well worth it.
The only disappointing thing to mention is the loud music coming from the bayside in the evenings - each night starting at 8pm and goes on till well beyond midnight. Most hotels in Thailand were we stayed provide earplugs at the room, this is the only place were I needed them. I guess there isn’t much to do about it by the hotel unfortunately, but it’s really a pity as otherwise this room/cabana offers such a fantastic view over the bay and is so nice for families.

We had 5 lovely nights in their standard cabana at one end of Sairee beach in beautiful Koh Tao. You need to be able to walk without difficulty as each cabana has quite a walk and steps from Reception, the beach and restaurant. Our cabana was lovely, rustic and no real complaints, except it was difficult to apply makeup at night as the cabana was quite dark with orange lighting! There is an outside shower and bathroom which was a lovely touch. You feel like you are living in the jungle but only minutes away from the beach. We did get bitten a lot by mozzies and other biting insects but there was a mosquito net around our bed which we made sure we used when we slept. This is obviously not the hotel's fault. You do hear the music from the various bars on the beach if you go to bed before 3am but that can't really be helped and ear plugs are provided. The main lively area is about a 10 min walk along the beach which we found to be the quickest route. We ate lunch in the restaurant and pool a couple of times which was delicious. The swimming pool area is really lovely, as is the beach. The staff are an asset and really go out of their way to make you feel important and welcome. One tiny warning, we stupidly took our key out with us and lost it one night. When we got back at approx. 3am we went straight to reception and there was no one around. If we weren't at risk of being bitten alive we would have just slept in the hammock but that wasn't really an option for that very reason. When you initially arrive the Reception staff do point out that reception is closed at night and there is a no. to call if you need anyone out of hours. Unfortunately, we had not got this on us so we were effectively locked out until we managed to randomly find a young girl sitting outside what must have been the staff quarters at about 4.30 am in the morning! By that time we were a little grumpy! This was totally our fault but maybe a sign with the contact no. could have been left on the Reception desk for such eventualities. We also had to pay a fee to replace the key of 500 baht, which we totally accept. Just make sure you don't lose your key, hide it somewhere or make sure that you record the number in your phone!

Very nice spot.
We stayed 9 nights.
Beach at the resort was lovely. 2x SUPs and 4 x kayaks available, on a first come-first served basis. Perhaps a couple of sailing dinghies added to the fleet would be great? Shortage of loungers. People’bagged’ them at an early hour……
Breakfast in the raised above the beach restaurant was a star loser - I would have given the resort 5*. The furniture was cranky, the tables sticky and rather too many flies. Fruits offered were watermelon, honey dew melon, pineapple and dragon fruit…..every day. No mangoes, papayas, bananas, mangosteens, lychees……a shame. I took to taking my own mangoes.
Staff brilliant.
Laundry service basic but good.
Room in the ‘Whitesands’ style individual bungalows was spacious and comfortable. A little gloomy.
The resort is a 10 minute walk along the beach from the ‘action’.
Would recommend even at 6,500 baht b&b.

This was our 4th visit to beautiful Koh Tao Cabana. Just a perfect holiday.

Wonderful villas (which are so much more authentic than a typical hotel room), awesome views, comfortable beds, inside/outside bathrooms in the treetop villas (which we love! the occasional gecko is a bonus!), hammocks to relax in, lovely breakfasts overlooking the bay, excellent snorkelling, sun loungers (and cocktail service) right on the most scenic beach, a beautiful pool and friendly staff who go out of their way to assist.

One negative (that the resort can do nothing about) is that the party noise from the beach can be loud at times. The main party venues are about 800 meters away, but the sound carries across the water, esp on a windstill night. It doesn’t bother us at all - it’s quite festive in fact! - but if you’re a light sleeper, you may need to use the earplugs (which the hotel provides) or crank up the aircon.

We’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years. It really is our happy place.

All are nice. Key thing is whether you are party animals or not. If you are you will be fine. Otherwise suggest a different, quiet hotel.
