Hi I’m Thip from The Plantation Boutique Resort management team! The Plantation is a pretty special place, nestled in a former coconut plantation that gives it its name, overlooking the spectacular views of Koh Tao’s glistening sea, and only 300 metres from Sairee beach. The plantation offers large 2 and 3 bedroom villas all with a private pool on the terrace and also spacious studio apartments without a pool . All our villas and apartments have amazing uninterrupted sea views. We’re lucky enough to have the best of everything…only a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Sairee restaurants, bars and shops and just far enough to enjoy a quiet and peaceful stay.

The hosts were superb and were always on hand for advise + an impromptu scooter ride to help me look for my lost bank card!

The view is incredible with location to match and so quite. Perfect hub to dip into the hustle & bustle of town (2min scooter ride) or stay in and recharge for the following day of island exploration. Menus for local restaurants provided who provide delivery if you've had a tough day

Scooter is discounted @ the friendly neighbours rental with a handy laundry service available

Worth every penny in my opinion. Just wish I could have stayed longer

Pool Villa 2 Br at the Plantation compound indeed has the best sea view in this part of the island. The host organised a free taxi from the pier and welcomed us at the villa with a quick tour and useful guidance about ordering food, getting around and using the facilities. The property has a fantastic position and in real life it looks even nicer than in stunning photos posted here. Living room, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom are spacious, light and very comfortable. Tasteful and elegant furnishing, artistic details, fully equipped kitchen, and a spectacular infinity plunge pool made our stay unforgettable. The host maintains the highest level of hygiene, daily change of towels and cleaning. They were responsive to all our needs. While staying in the villa, we enjoyed complete privacy, surrounded by the most beautiful lush forest, palm trees, flowers and a fantastic view of the whole Koh Tao bay from the large veranda next to the pool. Highly recommended!

We stayed a week at Thip's place and enjoyed it. The sweeping views were mesmerising. The spacious villa felt comfortable and was very private. The location was good with access to a lot of cafes and restaurants at Sairee beach, either on foot or on a scooter. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Thip was very communicative and welcoming.

We went to Thailand on a sandbox program. After staying 7 days in Phuket we planned to stay another 7 days in Koh Tao. I made bookings 2 months in advance and when I was in Phuket, so one week in advance I realized that there is no way to come from Phuket to Koh Tao. The flights arrive to the nearest island at 14:00, but the 2 boat depart earlier in the day. This means that you need 2 days to get to this island and also stay over night at another island. I contacted the property after I booked and asked how I can get to their location. They did not inform me that there is a scarcity of boats and that it is so difficult to get there. When I tried to cancel it one week in advance they told me to pay 50% of the stay! Of 7 days! I tried to also involve booking.com but it was also useless. Very disappointed as it is a lot of money just wasted. And the manager was not willing to negotiate. I offered to pay part of the amount given that it was a hot season and they allegedly had so many people willingly to stay there. I don’t think so because Thailand is closed now. Anyway, I didn’t find it fair that manager did not inform me how difficult it is to get to that island and when I explained them my situation, they were not willingly to meet me in the middle. So I just paid for nothing.

We had a booking fully paid for 7 nights at the Plantation Koh Tao, which we were looking forward to. After 10 hours of travelling, we finally reached the place with our luggage and waited by the road.

Seeing there was no lobby or anyone around, I started looking for their phone number to find someone to check us in. I called 3 different phone numbers I found online and one finally picked up. 5 minutes later a lady showed up. She then called the owner who arrived 5 minutes later on his scooter. The lady looked quite angry for some reason.

We had 2 heavy suitcases to take up to the room, which was quite high up on a really steep slope (like climbing 5 floors or so). The owner took one and the lady asked me to help take the other one up.
On our way up carrying the luggage, the lady staff suddenly told us "If you don't like it here, don't come again". I was quite surprised to hear that especially before we even reached the room.

Upon arriving in the room, the lady started getting angry at us and shouting at my girlfriend. She told us to "get the f**k out of the hotel". The owner was next to her and trying to intervene while her staff was closed to getting in a physical fight with my girlfriend.

The lady staff finally left the room and the owner told us "maybe it's better if you guys leave" and that he would refund us for the booking we fully paid.

Given the situation, we left the place immediately carrying our luggage down the hill, managed to find a new last-minute hotel to book for our stay and got a taxi there.
This was quite a shocking experience and the first time this happened to me out of the hundreds of hotels I have stayed at before.

I recommend absolutely avoiding this place if you want to enjoy your holidays, given the hysteric lady working there. Really bad experience.

The view is lovely. Be aware the photos are taken in a long view to make the property look bigger than it is. Notice you can barely get the two chairs next to the pool. The furniture is concrete with pads. Very uncomfortable. No cozy movie nights here. No Netflix only very old movies installed. WiFi is terrible. The upscale to 3 bedrooms includes a dark downstairs bedroom with no view even though the website says sea view suites. Owner was defensive when this was pointed out. After we booked the property was listed for one month for the price we paid for a week. Talking to others on the island we found we were way overcharged. View is great. Beds are comfortable.

“The Plantation” is like a paradise above the Sairee beach. Villas and apartments are placed inside the coconut palm plantation. From the villa’s pool area you can see beautiful view with the palms and all length of Sairee beach below. On the sunset it shows wide area of the green part of Koh Tao island with a lot of palms and other flora and blue part of the sea with the boats. Amazing!
At the morning we’ve seen how monkey got coconuts off from the palm and drop it down:)
We stayed here for two days according to our Honeymoon tour and rent a 4xPerson pool villa. We planned to review Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan, take beautiful photos here.
Wit - is a service man of the villa - helped us to get private boat for the excursion around Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan. He helped us anything we want, providing perfect service I’ve ever seen.

In the villa you get all to stay comfortable: full functional kitchen area, pool, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and hall. All areas are designed excellent.

I totally recommend “The Plantation” to stay on Koh Tao!

We loved out stay at Plantation. Robert and his wife have created a very nice place here on the north side of the island. The view from our villa was amazing with beautiful sunsets every evening.
What you won't notice from looking at the pictures are the small details. The houses are very well thought through, modern, abundant power outlets and most of all built so that you have complete privacy from the neighbours.
Also, the caretaker of the property, Mr Wit, was super nice! Always a big smile on his face and proactive if there ever was something that need to be resolved. He would reach out to us before we even notices something was up. And he would always be available when texting him with questions.

My gf and I stayed 6 nights, the place is well located 3 min bike ride from Central sairee beach or 15min walk. Quiet area, easy road to get there. The rooms are perfectly clean with a good sea view from the balcony. We had a warm welcome from the owner or manager when we arrived. The best bed I ever slept in. Super high quality mattresses! Shower super warm and excellent pressure. AC doesn't make a sound. Nice sofas area inside, in case it's too hot on the balcony. Internet is perfect. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. We will be back for sure.

Comfortable apartment with a gorgeous sunset view over Sairee beach, which is easily accessible via scooter (you can rent next door) or by foot (7 min walk). Thip was very friendly and welcome host, easy and fast to communicate with. We had a free pick-up on arrival which made our check-in even more comfortable. Very quiet area, enjoyed the ambient sound during the night. 10 min walk to bars, restaurants, shops and dive centers. Definitely recommended!
