Best views, best staff, best service. Special thanks to Nay MYO ( pronounced ‘New’) who greeted us at Tonsai Pier, carried our luggage, packed an early breakfast on our diving days, and made sure the delicious expresso was ready each morning. Here guests are treated like family and, at the same time, made to feel special. To think I almost missed the experience because the 146 steps leading up from Long Beach to the hotel seemed so intimidating. But my cane and I did it , every day, ‘slowly, slowly’. It was well worth the effort. I wasn’t eager to climb the 146 steps that lead up to this charming lodging. Glad I did! Comfortable bed, good food, clean and modern bungalows. Free breakfast and best of all, receiving first class service from Nay MYO ( pronounced ‘New’).
Absolute paradise with the staff to match. Arrived mid October, we were the only couple in the resort for the first 2 nights as things started to return to 'normal' post covid. There is not one bad thing to say about hip resort. We had a fantastic time. The rooms are beautiful, the view is even better. Perfect place for relaxing and getting away. We ate breakfast with the most amazing view and whilst the monkeys sat on the roof opposite us- like nothing we will ever experience again. Staff as talked about in other posts are just the loveliest. They put the definition into 'The land of smiles'. A special mention for 'New' whom looked after us so so well. He kindly recommended snorkelling out to shark point which was an incredible experience and cost us the rental of the snorkel, mask and flippers from the hotel right opposite HIP for 100 bhat PP. The hotel is located ON the beach. There are some steps up to the hotel but considering we relaxed all day this was our daily exercise ha! LONGTAIL boat is provided FREE of charge pick up to hotel from pier when you arrive and when you check out of hotel back to pier. You need to contact the hotel to let them know when you will arrive so they can organise for you. If wanting to visit phi phi town you will need to walk or longtail boat there/back. Walking took approx 30 mins but this was along the beach, up some 'steps', through a jungle etc. Hotel give you good directions. Definatly take the trip via longtail boat (arranged by hotel) and visit phi phi lee if you love beautiful sights/snorkeliing- absolutely magical. LASTLY, THE COSIEST BEDS EVER!!…
A sweet resort with the most caring lovely service! Set on the hills on the far end of Long Beach, providing mesmerizing views. Lovely updated cabins set in a pretty garden setting. Only accessible by boat, you must walk up a staircase to reach the resort. The staircase is done very well, with landing areas to take in the views and a little rest. A healthy climb up but not difficult for most people. Great breakfast served with much care, and food and drinks are reasonably priced and delicious. Overall a great place to stay, we will be back!
We were there during Covid. The view is great, the rooms simple but tasteful and spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Long Beach is a great beach (one of the best l have seen in Thailand, and l have seen many), although there are some sandflies. This can happen in lots of beaches in Thailand. Use coconut oil on your feet and legs to prevent the bites and before you go get some antihistaminic tablets and a cream with corticosteroids like Betamethasone. Read the contraindications first. This is a precaution, please don't be put off! You can snorkel off the beach and go kayaking, it's very sheltered. At Hip they do breakfast and meals, both much better than expected. If you want a change you can always go to The Beach Resort below, which is also open and if you have a meal/drinks you can use their beach chairs. Friendly cats around, a plus for me. You can get everywhere by longtail boat. Even better than the view at Hip is the wonderful staff! They speak good English too. They arranged two boat trips for us. Do the longtail trip to Phi Phi Leh, the views and the snorkelling are fantastic. Maya bay is closed, but you can see it from the boat and snorkel right there. Steps: yes, about 5 flights maybe, but very gradual and you can stop along the way to enjoythe views! Would l stay at Hip again? Definitely. Thanks again to the staff, worth their weight in gold!…
So, we did arrive here during Covid time. Where many hotels are closed, Hip Sea View was open. The lovely staff was very helpful and try to make us very comfortable. Room was basic, but good. We loved the view! Breakfast was basic, but cooked when you wanted it. They have a foodlist for lunch and dinner. Freshly cooked Thai dishes and some pizza. Price is low for Phi Phi. Beer was 50 baht. We did a day trip (1.500baht), a Cano trip (free) and some snorkling. Did I already say the staff was very friendly?
