Stayed here for 1 night in March. We originally booked for our 5 day quarantine but this was no longer a requirement by the time of our visit. We didn’t want to cancel and let the hotel down, so kept our booking and the hotel refunded our test fee. They offered a free collection service and we were collected from our hotel in Thongsala on time.

We were checked into the new rooms alongside the main road, which wasn’t very busy at the time. They are very modern and luxurious. The shower is a huge walk in area, the toilet is separate and the sink is behind a screen in the main room. There is a tv, safe, tea/coffee/water, a fridge and hair dryer. The rooms surround a nice pool, although due to the overnight storms had quite a bit of debris. The main pool was much bigger and very clean. Both pools had plenty of sunbeds, although it was very quiet and we often had either pool to ourselves. Lunch was good and there was a lot of choice from the breakfast buffet. As it was quiet, you ordered eggs etc from a menu at your table. There are a few places to eat and a shop nearby.

Sadly we felt that Maehaad Bay itself had been spoilt by the other resort that has been built right on the beach front. It has changed from the lovely beach with beach huts that we remembered from our previous visit to the area. Having said that we were glad we kept our booking and enjoyed our stay here.

A nice retort with normal standards for a 4 star hotel. What stands out is the camp on Chaweng Beach. Located on the slightly quieter part of the beach and with finer, lighter sand that becomes coarser and harder further north on the beach.
Their breakfast comes with a little extra. It varies a little every morning and there are choices for both Asian and European breakfast.

We booked this hotel as part of a longer trip and stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are clean and modern. We stayed in a standard room which was nice and spacious with a modern bathroom. There are 2 pools one which is surrounded by sand which I'm not sure us a great idea, but the other pool nearer the beach is large and clean. We were however disappointed that the beach restaurant was closed which meant we were very limited for eating options unless you used the other restaurant at the hotel which closed at 10pm. There is really nothing close by within walking distance. One small restaurant so it was OK for a few nights. The beach was really disappointing. There was lots of rubbish and not really good for snorkeling the little sand bank they sell this beach with is really nothing to get excited about. The staff here were super friendly and attentive and we could not fault them however the location let's this hotel down as the beach is not the best and very, very limited restaurant or bar options.

My husband and I were looking for a nice beach hotel with a pool and a gym in Koh-Phangan. we loved this place so much we decided to book for a month. First of all, the location is superb, right on Maehaad beach which has SUPERB snorkeling! just amazing, from my point of view way better than Surin island. they have a really good restaurant with cheap prices, Very good WIFI (depending on which room you stay in), a huge pool and another small one, a nice gym and super friendly staff. standard rooms are new and the ones on the ground floor are sealed from bugs invasion haha... I'm freaked by bugs so this was a true find for me. and the standard rooms and deluxe are all adjacent to each other and both are really close to the beach- like 1-minute walking so I have no idea why people complained about this. oh and few restaurants & shops around. they have good discounts on weekly and monthly stay so check it out :)

The hotel is not bad, but the breakfast is mediocre, as in all of Asia, the rooms are clean, but the pool area is not landscaped. What was most disappointing was the huge number of dogs, it is clear that they are friendly, but a dog is a dog. Also, the hotel is far from the bustle of the city and is poorly lit, so it is impossible to walk here after 19 (as it is very dark). In restaurants, the staff is very leisurely; you can wait up to 1 hour for your order.

We booked here for 5 days , now it’s 11 days and I don’t think to leave here in a hurry.
I know it’s corona time and very quiet everywhere, but the peacefulness and quietness here suits us perfect.
This hotel gives everything they can and more.
Rooms are so comfy and homey , towels, pillows and bedsheets are so soft and fresh.
Staff and owners is so friendly and helpful, breakfast is great, the beach near is one of the most beautiful beaches you can dream of.
Breaks my heart to see this place empty and staff and owners struggle to keep head above water , but they give all they have and make you feel like you never wanna leave.
We got upgraded to deluxe room due to not using too many spaces, which is a lot better than standard I guess.
I hope next time this place will be busy and cheerful although I love it as peaceful as it is
I care more for the survival of every struggling place around.
Thank you Maehaad Bay Resort and good luck.❤️🙏

I would like to say a big thank you for the wonderful hospitality that I was shown during my recent stay at Maehaad Bay Resort. The deluxe room was exceptional, large and stylish the location in particular sets your resort apart. A one minute walk to the beach is ideal, however the swimming pools are so well designed it’s difficult to even leave the resort at all!
The whole team made me feel extremely welcome, your restaurant, both breakfast and dinner was superb.
I am always on the lookout for exceptionally well located properties and being up in the quiet North Western part of the island guarantees you a restful time. Highly recommended

Super friendly staff and very clean room. The room we got was excellent. With the pool right outside and the bathroom big enough to be mistaken for a hammam. The Wifi in the room was super fast and the AC cooled pretty effective. Also, the breakfast buffet was outstanding with great selection and pure orange juice. The pools were really nice. I especially like the pool with the waterfall. Would definitely stay here again.

We had read the mixed reviews here after the hotel had been selected by another member of our party, so it’s fair to say that we turned up with a raised eyebrow.

To give you some context we are a family of 3 with a 5 year old boy from the UK. We typically stay in much more expensive hotels than this. We like good service, cleanliness and just nothing being a hassle when you are on holiday.

We were pleasantly surprised by the experience at this hotel. Do not expect the lap of luxury but it’s all good and we had a great time. It represents a great deal and a great place to stay for families.

The staff are helpful, friendly and polite.

We stayed in a family room and it was huge with a massive main bed, second bedroom with twins and a huge bathroom. Very comfortable.

There are 2 pools, both are good. The second one behind the main hotel is a little whacky and run down but we liked it as it was shaded. There is a little competition for sun beds on the main pool so the second pool helps.

Breakfast was average but acceptable (I’d say the only element I would have liked to be better but there were various things to eat that were fine).

Things that we did that were good:

Took a cab to Navana spa - a simple place nearby with hot and cold experiences.

Ate at pretty much every restaurant in the town. All were simple and great without exception.

Went on a half day boat trip for snorkelling and bottle beach.

Took a cab to salad beach at 4pm for a late swim and dinner (make sure you arrange a return journey too). It’s very nice here.

I’d recommend this hotel and area if you like simple places that aren’t yet built up and there is no frills but perfectly nice service and amenities. Beautiful
