Royal Lanta Resort and Spa is on an idyllic island, yet with shops and restaurants close by and convenient for Krabi airport. The stylish traditional villas and unit building , each with its own balcony and sun loungers, are close to the two pools, yet the nearby pavilion-style restaurant and bar is right on the sand. Enjoy our 'Coral Leaf Spa'. Sample our freshly-baked pastries in the 'Sea Cow Cafe' and keep in touch via the free Wi-Fi!

Really enjoyed our week at the Royal. We had two large adjoining pool view suites rooms (family of three adults). Mosquito nets around the four poster beds but they don't reach over the open top so a bit pointless really. The pool is lovely. It's a very pretty resort, lots of trees, water features and foliage. Walking through the grounds there were, for short distances, some areas which were a bit smelly as others have mentioned. Our rooms were away from them so it didn't bother us too much. Others have mentioned noise from children and other guests, but we didn't hear much - this was mid March so Covid likely made the hotel less busy than normal. We've stayed in Koh Lanta a few times and to be honest it is a kid friendly island so we always expect a bit of noise and it doesn't bother us. Rowdy nightlife is minimal so no noise there. We didn't have breakfast or any meals at the resort so can't comment. The beach is fabulous, Klong Dao has long been one of our favourite beaches. Gently sloping, clean, warm. Loads of beach bars and restaurants both on the beach and on the main road at the rear of the hotel. I would have no problems staying here again, it was my wife's favourite hotel of the whole trip and the minor downsides are far outweighed by the good points.

Villas are awful, no soundproofing! We wanted only sleep and relaxation but couldn’t get any of these because of the kid family next to us. If you don’t mind the noise, ok place. Pool was ok as well as cleaning of the room.

Really liked this hotel. It was very reasonably priced so I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were really helpful in arranging taxis and trips. The pools were great with plenty of sun loungers. Right beside the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and bars.

We stayed at royal lanta for 7 nights and we were not so happy Firat of all when we booked we couldnt see our choise of room but we booked anyway because all pictures looked good. The paint in the first room was coming off from the seeling in the bathroom, the walls was dirty and the cleaning was unsatiesfying. We told the people in the reception and was able to switch room the next day. Same there but the walls were clean. The breakfast was poorley, no bacon no fresh juice and terrible coffe. The wifi was a joke and when we rented a moped from the reception we got a whrak, we changed it and got one whith a wobbeling front deck so we could go at maximum 25 k/h. Also the cleaning was terrible, I have a shave in the bathroom ans some foam came to the mirror and on the basin and it were still there when we left 3 days later. So spend your money elswhere, where you get moore value for the money. Gert Areback

Stayed for 6 nights in a double room in the main building. Room was okay, but very small. The door was very thin and it didn’t feel very safe. Air conditioning worked well. The hotel has nice grounds and areas with a lot of flowers, statues and a fish pound. Smells sewage around the bungalows and I’m glad we didn’t stay there. Beach is nice for small children and families. The breakfast is very poor with the same every day. Would recommend to buy breakfast elsewhere. Everything closes early at the beach and in the area. Close to 7/11 and a few restaurants. Spa was good. Would not recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

This is the second time we've stayed here this year. We were here for 5 days over Christmas and it was magical. Breakfast on the beach is perfect, and the barbeque food in the evening on the beach, whilst more expensive than if you went down the road, is great and plenty of it. We had 2 rooms with a pool view as the bungalows tend to get surrounded by mossies in the evening, wherever you go wear plenty of deet. Lots of shops nearby and restaurants for cheap food and for getting your laundry done. The spa is lovely but do take advantage of the free massage voucher you get on arrival. There is a lovely massage place just on the beach and plenty in Saladan at a much reduced price but just as good. Tuk tuks up the road are cheap and an easy journey into Saladan in the evening. We are divers so this area is perfect for us. Room is good and air conditioning effective and a great relief from the heat, bathrooms could do with a bit of a renovation, but were clean and towels provided for showers and pool each day. Try the Irish Embassy for a great meal and good evening out and walking street in Saladan has great street food. We will be back. The pool areas are great but beware of the sun as it moves quickly and you need to continually move the shades and beds but that was no problem. Free water provided in room every day and the staff are more than helpful. It's a bit overpriced but we like the unspoilt views and go along the beach to the Indian bar to watch sunset and the fire shows in the evening.

My companion was standing outside on the wooden terrasse of our room. Suddenly part of the floor collapsed under her legs and she trapped one leg in the hole and then fell backwards and further injured herself on her back. She screamed out for help until somebody noticed her and called me and the manager and other staff. There was no phone in the room! She was taken to hospital by the hotel and the doctor gave her first aid for the injured leg and contusion for her lower back. luckily no bone was broken but she still has lot of pain in her leg and right hip. As a compensation we were upgraded in an even bigger room but the bathroom in that room is in a worse state of repair and we had cockroaches in it. The holiday was spoilt without any doubt since the first day.The day after the accident, we went to speak with the manager M.Thanabodi ( who had not yet contacted us ) to ask for compensation for both the injury and the shock my companion suffered. However long discussion he only proposed free meals and a facial in the spa.. We were hoping to get at least some money refunded , as we had paid 3200 euro for 1 week in 2 De luxe Villas. But the manager refused. This is not a safe hotel!! There is everywhere wooden flooring in and outside the rooms and also in the common breakfast/ dining locations! The hotel is full of many little children who are also in danger of hurting themselves. There is a very high risk that this accident happens again!! There are so many hotels on this beach.Do not go to this one.

Had a lovely couple of days at this resort staying in the family style bungalow. The accommodation is very authentic Thai style and comfortable, in amongst beautiful trees and local plants, giving a feel of a tropical Forrest. The staff were helpful and we enjoyed the lunches and the cocktails in the evening! Lovely bar situated on the beach front and great for views of sunsets. The bed mattresses were quite hard and not very comfortable though and the shower wasn’t very powerful, so could do with some updating in the future. Overall we had a very relaxing family time on the wonderful beach. Thanks again Rachel & Dan

Really nice and spatios rooms that a nicely cleaned every day(?). Two good pool areas, one in upper area and one with beach access. Friendly staff and nice garden. If you’re visiting during low/green season, make sure to ask for a breakfast menu because they make like omelettes and, bacon and egg etc. if you just ask for it.
