Chill Out House has an amazing vibe and it is ideal for few days of relaxation in Ko Lanta! Tommy and Mercedes are really cool guys and made us feel like home! Excellent location, clean and not noisy... 100% recommended!

Chill out house had the most welcoming atmosphere. It is super basic and bungalow style (no a/c, very open plan) which isn't for everyone but I really enjoyed. I had a health complication while I was there and each and every staff member was so helpful and attentive taking me to the clinic 3 times in a day and constantly...

I stayed in one of the bamboo bungalows. The accommodation is extremely basic but more than satisfactory for the price. Great staff, great sense of community with the other guests/backpackers. The place really makes you feel that you are experiencing lanta as it should be experienced! I'm genuinely going to miss my bamboo shower! Thanks for a great stay Chill...

Cool atmosphere, close to the beach, great little hangout areas. BUT stayed here for 3 nights and got zero sleep. Extremely hard bed (equivalent to sleeping on the floor), and so loud due to proximity to bars that play loud music till very late. You don't need to sleep here to experience the vibe of this place. You can actually...

Thanks for bringing that up cuz it's totally true! Depending on the time of year, it's not the best place for light sleepers. We have a strict midnight closing policy but unfortunately can't convince the neighbors to do the same :/ Regardless, I'm glad you enjoyed our atmosphere and overall experience with us- hope to see you again :)

The staff was awesome and the hostel offered a great common area in order to hangout with people- very chill just as the name describes! We met a lot of cool people and had fun. Only complaint is that there is sand everywhere and the beds were pretty bad but it was nice and right by the beach.

Ya the sand's not for everyone, and it's very true our beds are nothing special. Unfortunately, in order to keep our prices as low as possible, we wouldn't be able to afford fancy mattresses... so the options are super soft foam or the typical hard thai style beds (did you know some are actually stuffed with coconut husk?) We went...

The whole place has a really chill vibe, the staff are all very welcoming and explain everything really clearly. You stay up in a treehouse on mattresses on the floor, so it's not the most comfortable or luxurious but it's a great experience. They provide mosquito nets but bring lots of bug spray too just in case. The wifi works...

It's a wooden house where you feel like home at the moment you step in. My dorm was very simple: just a mattress on the floor, with a mosquito net and a fan... But it was simply comfortable enough. The staff was really nice, specially the volunteers working there. I'm certainly coming back one day!

I really wish I could give this place a good review. The common area is lovely and the staff is super friendly but I wouldnt stay here again. The bed is rock hard, it would have been more comfortable sleeping on the ground. We booked a "private" room. Well everyone in the common area can see straight in as the...

aww sorry you couldn't sleep- it must have been a Saturday because Gypsy Bar a couple doors down often has a party then :/ By low "walls" I'm assuming you're talking about the window- but you'd have to be a giant for it to be chest tall. We keep space between the roof and the tops of the walls for...

This place has a special place in my heart, it's probably the most interesting and coolest place you can ever stay it. Not only will you meet some of the nicest, funniest and best travellers but it has a great vibe. Some people would say that it's a little basic but it's a treehouse-hostel built out of driftwood! Definitely stay...

I say basic as a warning to those expecting luxury which here is definitely not, however that is not the reason people extend their visit here and nor why I too stayed longer than expected. The real reason people stay here are the incredibly relaxed atmosphere, the super helpful staff (advice without a sales pitch), the short distance to the...

“I LOVED MONKEY ROOM (it s a real TREE HOUSE... then you can feel the wind at night), but if you are a couple... go for the BUNGALOWS (you have more privacy and ensuite toilet)”

“I stayed in the sunrise room - I highly recommend it (sleeps two on a double bed)”
of 5 bubbles CameronGallagher, 7 Apr 2015 | Read review
“Tip: You're staying in a treehouse (cool eh?) BUT that does mean that mosquito bites are common. The staff try everything they can to ensure mosquitos are kept to a minimum but it is up to you to add that all important mosquito cream! Tip 2 (rooms): There are 3 dorm rooms and a few private rooms + bungalows (but I am yet to stay in any private rooms. The three dorms are Reggae, Loft and Monkey. Each dorm has it's own style but I would suggest either staying in Monkey (my personal favorite and three floors up)) or Loft! Reggae is on the ground floor and is a little too small for my liking.”

“There are different types of rooms to accommodate different types of travellers, although if you are a couple who are pretty loved up I suggest you get a bungalow and the rest of the hostel is made from wood and not very soundproof :)”
