On my fifth trip to Thailand I decided to return to Ko Lanta because the island turned out to be a perfect mix of sea beaches and peace and quiet. The Houben is the perfect hotel to enjoy the island and recharge your batteries given the presence of only adults. The location is spectacular and allows you to see one of the best sunsets I have ever seen, even on the edge of the lovely red ceramic pool. The small complex is close to all the best beaches: Kantiang, Bamboo, Klong Jahr and others. The staff is very courteous and careful to meet every request. The spacious and pleasant rooms with air conditioning and large bathrooms, are furnished in modern style and cleaned twice a day and all have a splendid view of the Andaman Sea. The restaurant is one of the best tried on the island and not at all expensive given the quality offered and the availability of the kitchen always open. Excellent also the extra services, from private transfer to and from the airport, to massages and scooter rental.

Myself and my husband came down to Koh Lanta for a bit of business and to meet up with friends as we live in Ao Nang, Krabi. We enjoyed the peace and quite of the Houben hotel, we especially enjoyed the baths, a rarity living in Thailand. As during this Covid spell a few rooms were taken, we had the pool mainly to ourselves and the big jacuzzi overlooking the sea to Koh Haa Island, breakfast was good quality and the staff were lovely, the rooms are super big, all with fantastic views. Cheeky monkeys come down from the hills to take a look at you and are cute to watch from a distanced, we met the manager Eric and he could not do enough for you, we will be back. Thank you

Lovely small adults only hotel (15 rooms), beautiful pool, great breakfast, nice little touches of welcome drink and small waffle delivered to room on arrival.
Best of all is the amazing sunset views, so good that I even proposed to my girlfriend on our balcony! Room 301 has fantastic views but all rooms should have.
Beach, 7-11, few restaurants and bars all a few minutes walk away.
Highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again on return to Ko Lanta.

We loved our short stay at The Houben hotel. The room was clean and beautiful, hotel staff was very kind and accommodating and the pool area is pretty incredible. Sunset happy hour was a daily highlight. The food from the restaurant (we did both breakfast and dinner there) was some of the best that we had while in Thailand and the morning massage we booked was top-notch. We had an amazing stay! Would definitely recommend this spot!

Last week we were at The Houben we had one of the best experiences in a Hotel. Starting with the manager, Eric, who from the first minute was attentive to every need and plan we had. He was aware not only of the tours they book for you but also of the ones we did with other people. Each of their employees from the reception, waiters, cleaning crew, were very efficient, and above all friendly. Each one of them treats you with great respect and always with a smile. The fact that it is a hotel with few rooms surely helps them focus on giving you great service. Our room was always spotlessly clean. The food and cocktails are at the level of the best restaurants on the island. The sea view is one of the best one could hope for. Definitely a great experience that we recommend. We’ll come back!

Spend 3 nights at The Houben with my Partner. Staff were very friendly and speak very good english. Owner Eric specially prepared breakfast for us as we need to depart at 520am to catch our flight. Room have full seaview and able to catch sunset. Very good bathtub with Jacuzzi, which is able to fit my partner and me. Owner also assign to arrange transportation to and fro airport. Ask the staff for tips on attractions around the islands and you can skip going to tour agency for help. Prepare in advance bathbomb ;)

The owner, Eric, and staff at the Houben were very kind and helpful. I will stay here again just to chat with Eric and the staff. They were very accommodating.
The view at the Houben is amazing. Situated in the top of a cliff there is no beachfront but this is easily compensated for by the sunsets.
Cocktails are delicious and the pool is a perfect place for relaxing. It is an adults only resort so there is plenty of peace and quiet to be had.
One warning, there are some cheeky monkeys that come around now and again. They’re quite clever and like to help themselves to unattended food. They added to the whole experience of staying in luxury yet still fitting into the natural environment. We loved them.

Spent a whole week in the Houben on Koh Lanta. Apart from the gorgeous sunset views, the staff really go the extra mile to take care of your requests and needs. My wife and I have never been so well fed for their breakfast spread. On top of that, the staff even personally went to check on our external transport arrangements when there were delays and changes. A big shout out to khun Yi and all the staff who made our stay lovely and memorable.

The Houben arranged private transportation for us both to the hotel and back to the mainland after our stay. It included a 2-3 hour drive and a trip by ferry from the mainland to koh Lanta. I did not think it was overly expensive but depends on your budget. They were happy to arrange it for us and it was completely reliable , clean, safe, well done.
