Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort has garnered praise from the majority of guests for its exceptional service and cleanliness, with a special nod to the diligent housekeeping staff. The resort's secluded, picturesque setting is appreciated, although the remoteness means some amenities are a bit of a hike. While the spacious rooms with stunning views and the various pools are popular features, some guests suggest updates to furniture and breakfast offerings.
The need for renovation in certain areas also comes up to enhance the relaxing atmosphere. Opinions on value vary, with some guests questioning the price-to-standard ratio.

We have just spent 6 nights at Avani+ Koh Lanta and we are super happy with our stay. The hotel is situated on a hill, it is a very large park full of trees and plants and the buildings are never too close to each-other. This sense of privacy was also very present as we stayed in a wonderful pool villa with great views on the sea. The room is very comfortable, with the bedroom, a very large bathroom, and a living room and a terrace with two deck-chairs, the pool and a shower. It is elegant and modern, and one feels at home. We had a welcome fruit basket and the minibar was for free. We were also very happy with the cleanliness of the room thanks to Au in particular. The food at the restaurant is great. We had twice dinner and also breakfast. For breakfast, there is a large choice of both western and Thai dishes, there is an “egg station” and the staff are very diligent and do the extra mile to please us. Thanks Dada for the to-go ice coffees ! AvaniSpa was also a wonderful experience. We had Thai massages everyday and we really enjoyed the massages, the quietness of the spa, the welcome and after massages teas…and the super massages by the team.
We also enjoyed the location of the hotel, at the end of the Long Beach, in a protected area. We like to walk on the beach and we could reach many beachfront restaurants and bar. And icing on the cake, there is a very well equipped gym, it is large, good machines. It is also full of daylight thanks to its large windows overlooking the pond and the green trees. It was great to train there.
Thank you to every staff member for their hospitality and kindness. We had a great, relaxing time at Avani+ and we highly recommend it.

Excellent hotel with very warm, friendly and accommodating staff. Stayed in 'Direct pool access' room - our family absolutely loved it. Breakfast was excellent. Beds a little bit on the 'hard' side, but minor detail. Tuk-tuk into town is very easy and affordable.

My wife and I and our 2 young daughters are just home from a holiday in Thailand which included 1 week at the Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort. Since it was the off-season we knew the resort was likely to be quiet and we were likely to get some rain (and both of these things were true), but we still had a fabulous time!
We got a lovely warm welcome from Sky at the reception on the night we arrived; we changed our room with no trouble whatsoever once we realised our chosen room was in the quietest part of the resort, so we moved closer to the main pool and restaurant after our first night. The reception staff (Sky, Nicky, Newz and Tan) were all very helpful and friendly.
The F&B staff were wonderful towards us and our daughters. They were so attentive each day and, in addition to serving us so well in the restaurant and the swim-up bar, they also prepared us a fantastic beach picnic and a wonderful floating breakfast. Massive thanks to Nui, Neung, Ning, Pear, Cream, Benz, Pang and Allistaar - and also the chefs who prepared such wonderful food. All of this was done under the watchful eye of the F&B Manager (Kim), who was also very attentive, welcoming and accommodating. Nui is a superstar!
The kids club was a great utility for us, and Meena and Yasub both did a great job of entertaining our girls on a daily basis!
We also enjoyed massages from the wonderful Spa team on a daily basis :) The housekeeping team were diligent, effective and conspicuous; and the gardeners work hard each day to keep everything looking neat and tidy :)
I know I'll have missed some names - so apologies for that - but rest assured of a very pleasant and relaxing stay in this lovely resort. It might not be for everyone, as it's quiet, but it was perfect for us! Our deal was fabulous value for money - and the staff were wonderful towards us all week. Had it not been the off-season, then the review may well have been 5-stars. Some reasons for "only" being 4 stars are that the small private beach wasn't quite as nice as in the photos; and there was some maintenance going on in the resort (not unusual in the off-season, and probably reflected in the deal we got).
The general manager, Adrian, is very attentive and approachable - so hopefully this resort will go from strength to strength :) We would happily return!

We stayed here for 12 nights. Super nice hotel with a very nice and well-kept complex. We had a sea view room right by the pool and the sea view from the room wasn't really that direct. The rooms are very comfortable and offer lots of amenities (alarm clock with wireless charging station, various lighting options, dressing table, etc.); only the mattresses are very hard, they tried to help us here by adding more "toppers". The staff is extremely friendly and really cares about the well-being of the guests. BUT: there are far too few loungers at the pool for too many guests! And too few umbrellas for the existing loungers. In addition, from around 7 a.m. ALL loungers are already reserved with guests' towels. The hotel has no rules on this. If you want to be on the safe side, you have to be an early bird or take a room with pool/pool access. The behavior depends on the guests themselves, of course, but if the hotel is fully booked, it's tight. All the fun elements such as whirlpool loungers, jets and fountains are not in use/don't work. What a pity. The private beach is idyllic and very natural. Unfortunately there are no loungers or anything like that here. It could be designed a bit nicer. The sea is OK for swimming, but it is also partly rocky when entering; bathing shoes can help. The hotel is a bit out of the way (if you like it quiet, you're in good hands here) but there are a few nice restaurants/bars on the beach within walking distance and on the main road along the sea. There are also massage options on the beach. And with the tuk tuk you can quickly get to Sala Dan at the night market etc. The hotel bar "Reggea Bar" and the hotel restaurant "Cliff" are also good and OK in terms of price, but more expensive than outside.
All in all a great hotel with nice people from the reception and the restaurant as well as the bars and chambermaids. Everyone is super friendly and interested in the well-being of the guests. Our highlight: romantic dinner on the beach! (Almost 120 EUR for a couple, but it was worth it! Thanks to Nui and the team as well as the chef!!!)

We had a pool view room which was located just by the pool (~80m) long that goes along the pool access rooms. It was guiet and not much people stay at this pool so we found it very plesant to stay ther , away from all families at the main pool. The private beach is small and a mix of rocks and sand, great for some easynsnorkling, which we did several times, sometimes we were alone on the whole beach. The public beach can be reached by a small paved path and isngreat for an afternoon walk. The breakfast and fitness could be improved. Variety of fruits is limited and I asked every morning for some extra as I am vegan . My family complained a bit about the limited variety of cheese and ham. Fitness equipment is very limited and cross trainer really outdated and missing the hand grips. No sanitizers available , but was provided after I complained. Some staff is very friendly and fast, but some specially at breakfast are slow or gring wrong things. All in all a very plesant stay but expected something more exceptionally good for the extreemly high price compared to other Avani+ hotels , such as Avani+ Khao Lak

Dear KarinL2498, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay, and we apologize for not meeting your expectations in certain areas. Regarding the breakfast buffet, we will review our variety of fruits, cheeses, and ham to ensure we provide a wider selection to satisfy all preferences. We also understand the need for a more diverse offering of food choices to cater to our guests' different tastes, and we'll look into adjusting the balance of options to better reflect our guests' preferences. As for the gym, we are aware that some of the equipment may not be up to the standard you would expect in a 5-star hotel. Please rest assured that your feedback has been passed along to our maintenance team, and we will prioritize the necessary updates, including the cross trainer and hand grips, to ensure a more comfortable workout experience for all of our guests. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that your son had such a positive experience with his Thai boxing lessons. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to the instructor who worked with him, as they’ll surely be appreciated. We take great pride in the care and attention our team provides to guests, and it's great to hear your son felt that during his lessons. We sincerely apologize for the oversight regarding the sanitation in the gym. We understand the importance of maintaining a clean and safe environment, especially in fitness areas. It's disappointing to hear that the standard wasn’t met from the start, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We're glad to hear that the situation was addressed after your complaint, but we recognize that this should have been in place as a standard, particularly in AvaniFit. Rest assured, we’re taking your feedback seriously and will ensure that the necessary sanitization measures, including hand sanitizers and gym equipment cleaning supplies, are readily available at all times moving forward. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate your understanding and patience throughout, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make amends Best regards, Vitchapatt Pengduang, Front Office Manager

My wife and I stayed here for two nights whilst island hopping around Thailand and we wished we had stayed longer. Located on the island of Koh Lanta this hotel is positioned up on a cliff towards the end of the bay.
My only criticism is the reggae bar. Yes it has a lovely view of sunset but because like with a lot of hotels in Thailand where they charge you service charge and a city tax (no place outside the resort does this) means the staff are not interested thus we had to prompt the them on our orders and chase our bill. So my advice is check it out maybe you’ll have better luck but there’s plenty of local establishments on the beach for a fraction of the price and similar view.
Room is nicely decorated and presented well. Reception staff friendly and we were provided with a welcome drink. If you like walking you can walk to your room however be mindful it is steep however cars are provided to shuttle you around if you do wish. They also prompt you to download an app that is also good for ordering room service or for shuttle around resort

Dear Mr. LeeGriff,Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your visit to Koh Lanta and for sharing your experience. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the stunning cliffside location of our hotel and that you found our rooms well-decorated and our reception staff friendly. However, we're truly sorry to learn about the less-than-satisfactory experience you had at our reggae bar. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the service lapses you encountered. We will review our processes to ensure a smoother and more attentive service experience for all our guests. We appreciate your advice for fellow travelers and acknowledge the abundance of local establishments nearby. Our aim is always to provide exceptional service and value to our guests, and we regret if we fell short of this during your time at the reggae bar. Regarding our steep pathways, we offer shuttle services for guests' convenience and safety, and we're glad you found this option helpful. Also, we're delighted that you found our app useful for ordering room service or arranging transportation around the resort. Thank you for your valuable feedback, which allows us to enhance our services further. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for an extended stay, allowing you to fully enjoy all the offerings our hotel and the beautiful island of Koh Lanta have to offer. This was unfortunately a really disappointing stay at the end of a beautiful 3 weeks in Thailand. At £600 a night you would expect Luxury. Especially in Thailand given the disparity in cost, the reality was akin to a holiday inn.
Whilst the rooms were recently refurbished the rest of the hotel was not, overgrown greenery means that many of the pool villas don’t actually get much sun - and whilst we were able to be moved to one that had marginally more sunlight, the amenities throughout the resort are falling apart or don’t exist as per their on site app / menus / advice from staff.
The “luxury chefs table beach dinner we booked” was the last straw, when we headed down to the beach for our final meal In Thailand…. (Terribly rocky and unswimmable, unmanned so no towels / seats / bar / staff and at the bottom of around 60 steps so less than ideal to lounge at) what we saw was dismal, it was so laughable we actually left, especially given the images we had been shown of what it would look like both reference images and what we actually got are attached.
Whilst we complained, we didn’t actually even see the General Manager until we requested to see him, and whilst we were not charged for the dinner or our approximate 10 beverages for our stay as a gesture of good will, we sought out a partial refund due to our unbelievable disappointing experience - we have been met with zero response from the GM despite having been given his direct email.
It’s a shame as I have stayed in Avani Hotels accross the world and always had great service and great experiences, this will put me off further stays. I should also say the £30 a night B&B we stayed in elsewhere in Koh Lanta felt like 5* luxury in comparison.

Dear Ms. Nadinaazara, Thank you for sharing your feedback about your recent stay with us. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing experience you had, especially at the conclusion of what should have been a beautiful three weeks in Thailand. We deeply regret that the value you expected for the nightly rate of £600 did not meet your expectations, and we acknowledge your concerns about the condition of the hotel, the limited sunlight in certain pool villas, and the amenities not aligning with the information provided. We are truly sorry that the "luxury chef's table beach dinner" did not live up to your expectations, and we understand how this could have impacted your overall impression of the resort. Your description of the beach and the images provided are indeed concerning, and we will investigate and address these issues immediately. We apologize for any delays in addressing your concerns and for the lack of response from our General Manager. Rest assured, we take your feedback seriously, and we are committed to conducting a thorough review of our services and facilities to prevent such issues from recurring. We appreciate your loyalty as a guest who has stayed at Avani Hotels across the world, and it deeply saddens us to learn that this experience may deter you from future stays. We would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss your concerns further and work towards a resolution. Please feel free to reach out to us directly, and we will ensure your concerns are addressed promptly. Once again, we apologize for the shortcomings during your stay and hope to have the chance to regain your trust in the future. Warm regards, Parinya Wongwai l Rooms Division Manager

I completely agree with the previous review ‘not my cup of tea’. Everything they have said is completely correct the location and rooms are lovely but it is no where near a 5 star hotel. We stayed at other much cheaper resorts on the island where the breakfast, service and ambience were of a far higher standard. The pool bar often ran out of cold beer and ingredients even though we could see deliveries piled up and not being put away. I would understand if the hotel had been busy but it wasn’t. The pool area wasn’t cleaned of dirty dishes, glasses or used towels so often guests were left to do that for themselves. I had 2 glasses of wine during my stay and both were off, probably due to the fact that they were left in the sun. We raised our issues with the management but no one came back to us during our stay. The local places on the beach serve chilled wine and superior cocktails and are just a short walk away. While we were there a group of guests chose to play their own music around the main pool and kids were climbing on the swim up bar. I understand this is not the hotels fault but a gentle word with guests would help the situation, it is not what you expect from a hotel at this level. An overpriced disappointment look elsewhere.

Dear Ms. Amy, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the disappointments you encountered during your stay. We value your feedback, and your insights provide us with an opportunity to address the areas that fell short of your expectations. We regret to hear that the hotel did not meet the standard you anticipated and that you found it to be overpriced in comparison to other resorts on the island. Your comments about the pool bar running out of cold beer and ingredients, as well as the issues with cleanliness in the pool area, are deeply concerning. Rest assured, we are addressing these matters internally to ensure improvements in service and maintenance. We also apologize for the quality of the wine and the lack of a timely response to the issues you raised with the management. This is certainly not the level of service we strive to provide, and we will investigate to ensure that our communication channels are more responsive in the future. Your observation about the behavior of some guests at the main pool is duly noted. We will work on enhancing our efforts to maintain a serene atmosphere and address any disruptions promptly. If you rate the rooms (with sea view for us), facilities or food quality, this hotel deserves an excellent quotation. Indeed, the rooms are large and well equipped, with a beautiful balcony to relax. You can just regret a little firm bedding. Similarly, the complex is well located and maintained with a shuttle system between the different buildings given the sloped configuration of the site. Breakfast is okay except for pastries to avoid. But there is a huge problem in this hotel. It is service. It is very bad (waiting time between 20 and 30 minutes at meals in the restaurant, missing dish each time, bath towels used that accumulate along the day and no clean towels available, more than 15 minutes to have coffee at breakfast...). The management of the hotel’s teams is not good except for the cleaning women who do an excellent job. This does not spoil the stay but it is not worthy of a hotel positioning itself on the high end. That is why it deserves no more than the average quotation.

We discovered a very nice spot; the hotel is really comfortable and many access for spool, beach and sun set bar. The location is near to the city and local bar/restaurant accessible by local taxi or by hotel shuttle. The quality of the food for breakfast is good and a lot of day tripes are available to discover many islands around, we have really enjoyed our trip. The menu from the restaurant doesn't offer any Thai food on the carte and it's a bit expensive.

I do not understand what you mean if the buffet is a choice or a set menu. The breakfast is a buffet and you pick what you want from what is available. If you mean you want to order special things, yeah I am assuming that is not possible. But they do tend to cover pretty much a lot anyway. And the breakfast was yummy
You have to direct your question about mattresses to the hotel directly. Besides the renovation the hotel also will be part of a hotel chain, Avani, and that will probably mean changes in many things.
Our experience with the mattresses were good, not soft, not hard, linen changed every day (if you like).
