We had a really nice two nights at Baan Bussara. They kindly kept our bags as we arrived early and then allowed us to check in as soon as possible. Nice sized room with a fridge, water, fan and air con. Decent shower and a small balcony which was great for drying clothes. Comfy bed. Great location for walking out and exploring and the lovely lady helped us with booking an evening river cruise (recommended) and with trains for onward transport. (We were going to get the bus and she said train was better and she was dead right)! Really nice place in busy Ayutthaya with kind, friendly people.

We're a couple in our late 50s, so don't want a backpacker hostel, but don't want (or like) anonymous hotel rooms. Our room was simple (which is fine; we only sleep there) and clean. Fridge, fan, air conditioning, hot shower all fine. Water provided daily, towels, loo roll on request. There's an Isaan street vendor next door who will bring food round (grilled chicken, som tam, sticky rice etc), a noodle place across the street, and a short walk to a Japanese place, 7/11, a bar for a beer. The host lady was very helpful, calling tuk tuks etc when we wanted to explore. Good value for money; we extended out stay, and would certainly stay there again.

Spent 3 nights here in October . Our host ,Will, was very welcoming and informative. Big room with fridge and outdoor seating area in leafy surroundings. Offers snacks throughout the day. Try the club sandwich. A manageable walk to the historical park but tuk tuks were very reasonable. 3 nights is more than enough to stay in Ayutthaya .

This place was probably all right if you are used to back packing but it fell far short of our expectations. Security was non existent as the windows would not lock; there was no hot water for a shave in the wash basin; there was no hair drier; the shower had a complicated set up and our daughters' room was even worse as dust flew everywhere when they turned on the fan.

I found Baan Bussara from Trip Advisor reviews and am so pleased we did. It was perfectly positioned for us, just around the corner from where our minibus from Bangkok dropped us and a 10 min walk & ferry ride (5baht) each from the train station. If you arrive into the main bus station you would need to take a Tuk Tuk or taxi.
We arrived long before check in as we took the early bus, our room wasn’t ready but the owner Willy greeted us warmly. Suggested we left our bags and directed us to places to eat, and gave us a map of the old city.
We had a refreshing Chang beer (60baht) at the attached cafe then went for an explore.
When we returned Willy told us about a long tail boat trip around the island visiting 3 temples on the outside bank. We were very keen to do this and it was very reasonable at 200baht for 2 hours plus.

The room was a good size clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water in the bathroom. And a large fridge into which they put a couple of bottles of water each day. We slept very well no dog noises to disturb us, which other reviewers have mentioned. And I found the bed very comfortable, yes it was firm but I like that.

We bought breakfast there and it was good we had an American breakfast for 120 baht 3 rounds of toast, 2 egg omelette jam choice of coffees / teas and orange juice. I’m sure we could have found it cheaper if we’d looked but felt it was very good value.

The next day we hired bikes for 40baht and explored the temples. Willy has kindly pointed out the ones most people enjoy which was great as there are far too many to visit them all. We bought a day ticket (which actually can be used over a number of days if you stay longer) which got us in about 6 temples. A couple of others we visited we had to pay 20 or 30 baht to go in.
It was a great day we thoroughly enjoyed it. On our return we asked Willy’s advice on onward travel. He arranged train tickets to Pak Chong for us ok we paid 30 baht more than we would have paid if we had gone to the station ourselves, which he was very up front about but it saved us the hassle & time which for 75p we felt was worthwhile.

We left our large bags with Willy whilst we went for 2 nights in Pak Chong, and then on our return used their shower (30baht) before heading for the Night Bus to Chang Mai which Willy had organised for us. We went for the top class one which was 1000baht but in our opinion definitely worth it as so comfortable. A sleeping pod each and tv etc plus snacks and food provided. It also included the Tuk Tuk ride there and Willy went to the bus station and made sure we got on the right bus and were looked after.
We can’t thank him enough.

I've found this place was so good.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We arrived before check in time.
We brought our belongings and waited for a while. After they finished cleaning, one of a staff escorted us to the room.

The room was cozy, comfy double beds. And prices of the room (exclude breakfast) were also affordable.

The location was quite near a local market. Only a 5 minute walk.

We'll definitely come back again!

Stayed for 2 days, booked a double room very spacious clean, staff was very welcoming informative on tours, local markets restaurants and best way for us to travel to are next destination they couldn't do enough for us. Food they served was also very good. Booked a tuktuk to go around the temples we wanted to see but also booked with the hotel a sunset boat tour you see 1 or 2 of the same temples that we seen in the day but by night and by boat it's completely different view so if suggest do both as it was cheap!!

I booked this guesthose because i saw many positive reviews. I booked for 2 nights via Agoda. When I arrived I quite disappoint because the place look very low standard and small. Room is normal. At this price better stay in the hotel. Not recommend.

➕ Room was clean and had everything you needed. Location was ideal.

What can I say about Willy? He’s a funny character but you’ll love him. He is what makes Baan Bussara extra special - so does the lady who works at the cafe! He sits down with all his guests and tells you exactly what you need to see in Ayutthaya. So helpful as it saves you time when exploring the sites. He helped us with booking a bus to Sukhothai and booked us into his guesthouse there, too, which was very very good too.

The boat trip sounded good but we opted to hire a scooter and do it ourselves instead so we could take our time at Wat Chaiwatthanaram and see the evening light change. You’ll get the scooter for 24 hours so you will have time to see some temples outside the main complex - such as Wat Yai Chai Mongkol; our favourite one!! Hire the bikes for the main site, it’s the best way to explore it.

Have lunch at Pa Lek Boat Noodle (same road as Baan Bussara, just before entrance to temple complex) and sit down with a hotpot at the night market.

➖ Breakfast wasn’t included and there weren’t too many breakfast options around.

We booked this place as we had read the reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed at all.
It was off season, so great value for money and a good team working there.
Three rooms were spotless and smelt so good on arrival. They were also very large rooms and looked like they had been decorated not so long ago.

The hotel was less than a 10 min walk to the start of the historical park and we were given a great map showing a 1 day route to take to see the main temples.

They also rent bikes for the day, so it was so easy to get things done there.

Ayattaya is a laid back place and most food places are closed quite early, so bear this in mind.

The outdoor food stalls are less than 10 mins away as well.
